My Eve client still crashes. A lot. I'd file a bug report, but the darn thing just crashes gracefully to my desktop without a lock up, hitch, or twitch. Just poof! Can someone please explain to me why Transgaming is unable to put out a Cider port that isn't total crap?

Eve is literally the ONLY software to ever make my Mac act funny, and it is the ONLY software application which consistently performs poorly.

I'm not asking for much. When it comes to gaming on a Mac, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth... but this kind of sucks. Wink

So, for what seems like the thousandth time: iMac 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Radeon 2600 HD 256mb, OS 10.5.1

EDIT: So tonight my client crashed right as a small gang jumped my Brutix outside a station in Villore (I had aggro, we had scuffled a bit). I was 2500 meters from the station when the attack began. When I attempted to approach the station to dock, my client crashed. By the time I got it up again, I was in a pod. Had my client not crashed, I could have successfully docked and avoided destruction.

This is the first time the instability of the Mac client has cost me a ship, and I have filed a petition. CCP's response to this petition will have a very real impact on the length of my tenure in Eve and the impressions I share with others.

PS: I work for Apple.
PPS: Really.

i've been able to successfully engage some NPCs ... i think that's a start Laughing

seriously good question, my client keeps crashing quite frequently as well especially if i'm doing anything else but sitting docked, and this totally sucks!

I just got a Mac and I played for the 2 week trial without a single crash until last week, I get graphical anomalies but no t many crashes ... but I've shifted to using XP since the framerate sucks.

If I play using bootcamp and Windows XP I get fancy graphics and about 75fps if I play using the Mac client I get 25fps and graphical anomalies.

This is on a MBP 2.2GHz, 2GB Ram, NVidia 8600MGT 129mb OS 10.4.whatever

Got the same problem with my iMac (same specs)... I hope they fix that soon, because the game keeps on crashing. I cannot play... Right now, I feel like an alpha tester...

I as well. Luckily I do have a PC to play on, but my Mac is my laptop and is with me more often. I get the same issues.

Though, I will be the first to admit that EVE is not the only thing that makes my Mac act funny. I have seen and used plenty. Office is a good place to start...
