Given the problems with the current Mac client I decided to try running the premium Windows client in bootcamp. I have a MBP Core2 Duo with 1 GB RAM. I started having completely different problems with this client, however. Basically after a few minutes different windows stop displaying items, the game slows down and becomes unplayable. I can open and close windows, but they won't display everything and I can't right click to get info or perform actions. Very irritating when in combat! It doesn't seem graphic related, although who knows..

Anybody else had these kinds of problems? Maybe it's my system - I've installed/uninstalled a lot of other games & software. Could be time for a good ol' Windows clean erase and reinstall...

Let me ask a different question: Is anyone running the premium client in bootcamp with no problems?

its runnin fine for me too. it sounds like youre having network problems there tho, so make sure youve got the right drivers for your ethernet card or whatever youre using, and check for spyware or whatever else that could be eating into your latency.

hey zt3, I have a macbook pro 2.4 ghz 4gb 8600m. You said that the game runs graphics well . I was wondering if your system is similar to mine. I'm trying to gauge how well it will run in bootcamp performance/graphics wise.

I have the exact same setup, and EVE runs like a dream.

i have a macpro quadcore with 1GB Ram and the ATI1900, when running eve premium on bootcamp (WindowsXP SP2) the graphics start to flicker in a most epileptic manner, unplayable

the flickering also starts to happen on oldschool graphics on xp and osx, but only after playing longer than 30minutes :S

can someone help me here? :S

Running it on a 2.2GHz 2GB 128MB 8600MGT MBP under bootcamp with no real issues ... The first undock after logon takes a while to load all the HUD etc.

I'm not running on a MBP but this may be of interest.

I have a Mini, 2GHZ C2D, 2GB and run EVE in XP under BC. I only have a small XP partition though and it is tight for space. I had been getting random crashes (to reboot) and about 20 fps outside a station and < 5 combat with belt rats with game effects turned off but terret effects on. Last night I hooked up an old drive in an external SATA<>USB2 enclosure with XP & EVE installed on it and ran EVE from it. I had no stability issues and was now getting 40+ fps outside a station and 25-30 fps engaging with belt rat swarms (4 frigates) with all game & turret effects running.

Needless to say I was a little suprised. Shocked

Like I said, this is not directly relevant to the topic but may be of some interest/use to someone.
