Hey guys I am gallente race and been flying Gallente ships. My character is aimed more into manufacturing and while I am doing my learing skills I been doing mining to get some ISK.

The biggest problem I had is most time I am running out of CPU so I cant fit the things i want on it. I had a Frigate (navitas) for my mining and used a tristan for a fighter. If I had a hard pirates agains and couldnt handle him with my Navitas (single 125 rail gun)I would warp dock and get my Tristan clear the pirates and move back in to mine.

Now I decide to move to a new ship and I bought a catalyst. Now it looks like a good ship so far I added him a small shield and 2 Dual Diot Mining. With that and an 150mm Rail gun and a salvager and I am max on cpu usage.

This has enable me to fight the pirates without chaging ships and mine faster than before. This is I try to add some miners II but I can only fit one and my cpu goes really down and with the 2 dual diod miners can mine faster than a signle miner II.

What I can do to increase my cpu capacity of the ship and what will be the best fit to mine and be able to defend myself from the pirates that will attact me while mine. Not interested in PVP at all.

Thanks in advance.

A quick, temporary fix is to fit a Co-Processor I (Ship Equipment > Electronics and Sensor Upgrades > CPU Upgrades) in a low slot on your ship. You only need the skill Electronics Upgrades to level 1 in order to fit it.

To provide a better solution, you'll need to spend time training the following skills:

Electronics - 5% Bonus to ship CPU output per skill level.

Mining Upgrades - Skill at using mining upgrades. 5% reduction per skill level in CPU penalty of mining upgrade modules.

Weapon Upgrades - Knowledge of gunnery computer systems, including the use of weapon upgrade modules. 5% reduction per skill level in the CPU needs of weapon turrets, launchers and smartbombs.

And although they aren't as helpful in dealing with the CPU problem, you might want to consider training these skills higher: Engineering, Energy Management, Energy Systems Operation, and Electronics Upgrades.

Maybe it's a good idea not to try and do everything at once in the same ship. While i'd be the first to say specialisation is for insects, you'd do well to focus your fittings on a single purpose.
Have you looked into the Vexor class cruiser? It's drones might be a good substitute for the railguns you are currently using to hold off the npc pirates.
This kind of thread belongs in the ships&modules subforum, where there are many like it. Read up a little and enjoy. Welcome to EvE btw, little noob Wink

Also, for mining, check out the Exqueror. It doesn't get a mining bonus, but it gets an expanding cargo-hold, can fit 4 miners as well as deploy drones. (and is a little cheaper than the Vexor)

There's nothing in the manual that says you have to do everything with a single ship. (although I have had fun popping rats with a mining barge....Drones to the rescue!)
