Occasionally I go to check my alt to see if anything is going on with him and I find myself having to quit the game to log back in with my main.

Now I did a little research and read some other threads (all locked due to inactivity) and I'm a little curious about this option.

I guess apparently we used to have the option to log back to the character screen but it was taken out due to some bug that would crash the game or something.

Even though this is a tiny, tiny matter would anybody else like to see this back in place?

Too much potential for far too much to go wrong, settings not saved correctly etc...

Takes about 15seconds to fire back up to the character screen after quitting out so I dont see the problem personally.

Oh man only 2 responses. Guess it wasn't that big an item.

You are right as it's really not a big deal. I check my alt maybe once a month or so and most of the time I don't even think about it.

I do know that there are other people out there that use alts for little things (granted the alt isn't on a separate account).

Now if we had the ability to train alts at the same time as mains then I could see this being a bigger deal.

There are hundreds of "no big deal" issues that you'll get flamed for pointing out. I can't figure out why. Why do people here argue against improvements that they could just ignore, or not use if they don't like them?

Personally I thought this back-to-char-screen was a weird thing to be lacking, but every time I try to point out things like this I just get flamed. Lack of a skill training queue is the classic example of, "omfg why not?"

Don't be discouraged by lack of support. Most forum goers aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack, and minor issues aren't very interesting to most. Throw in some drama, or outrageous claims, or anything they can point out that is wrong and they'll be all over you. Wink

The only thing I can think of for a "Back To Character Selection" option, would be the potential for memory manipulation & dupe bugs/exploits. I know a few of the older games could be injected this way, and as long as the game itself didn't exit, you could do some interesting things while switching characters.

Knowing nothing of the software architecture of eve, i have no idea how much of a valid concern this would be. On the surface, it does appear to be a "small thing" that would make things much easier for everyone.

Btw, Xaen, I wouldn't mind a skill queue/dual character and/or skill training either. At this point it's been "on the drawing board" for a few years, and it's beyond me why it isn't either removed from the "Drawing board" or implemented. I've seen many more "complex" and "less important things" get implemented with high priority, and every time anyone asks about those features the answer tends to be "Well it's just not a high priority atm"

*shrug* Some things I guess we'll never fully know. What's infuriating, is that those things tend to never get a straight answer either, just a vague tap dance around the subject. It's almost as if we're psychology subjects in a massive social engineering ploy by CCP Laughing

Have to agre with you there, I dont log on them often, but it would be nice to go back to the character selection screen, especially when dealing with production alts.

Yes Im lazy, but I dont think it would be that big of deal. even if they added a 20sec countdown to return to the selection screen.

As some have said, it used to be possible, but it was being exploited so it was removed. It has been discussed several times in the features forum, with a few Dev responces. If you want the full details do a search.

However one of the things it was used for was to make a character disapear is space by switching to a alt and saving the time it takes to log into your account.
