Hello all, I am relatively new to the game, and I have a friend in a low sec corp that I plan on joining and will probably be doing mostly pvp, trading, and manufacturing later on down the line.

But for now (and probably later to supplement my income) I am doing a lot of mission running to build up a little income. My question is should I bother training any of the social skills at all given my situation, or are they mostly a waste of time?

Thanks for any and all advice!

Social skills are worth train. Particularly Connections as it will allow rapid access to higher level missions that provide greater income.

Just take them to level 3 or 4, based on what you are saying you plan to do, level 5 is not likely to be worth the time.

Cool, thanks for your advice. It sounds like a couple of the social skills are at least worth a little training then.

Social increases the rate at which you gain standings.

Connections increases your effective standing, and this is hugely useful.

As far as mission running goes, Diplomacy and Criminal Connections are only useful if you intend on running missions for pirate factions or factions you've seriously annoyed.

Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I'll probably train up Social and Connections and leave the rest alone for now unless I get a crazy desire to run pirate missions...
