Hello,
I would like to know if Eve client is supporting 5.1 sound ?

Indeed, with pcm field set to default alsa, I have only stereo sound, without rear/front/bass.
With my current alsa setting, I'm able to get a 2.1 sound with front stereo echoed to rear channels. But is is not 5.1 with 6 independent channels like I have when using the Eve WINDOWS client.

As most of software supporting alsa know "surround51" pcm device, and as "speaker-test -D surround51 -c 6 -t 3" command line is working fine on each channel separately, I tried to set the pcm field of Eve config to "surround51". But I got only noise, stopping sound after a few seconds. It is the proof Eve is reaching the surround device, but it seems not be able to correctly use it.

So at first, is Linux Eve client supporting 5.1 sound ?

AFIC that Wine doesn't support 5.1 sound. Which would mean Cegeda probably doesn't either (due to the commonality between the two).

I think 2.1 is probably the best your going to be able to coax out of it.
