You would like to enjoy eve but your connection to the server seems to be is very slow and you keep disconnecting from the server after minutes or you are behind a company firewall or a proxy server that is denying you your right to play eve ;).
This workaround might be a solution to solve your problems.Requirements
You need a working connection to the internet.
You need administrator rights on your computer.Software requirement
This solution is for Windows XP.
To get things started we need the following software
OpenVPN 2.1 or later, to download it, go to http://openvpn.net/download.html
You can use the 2.09 version but I highly recommend to use the 2.1 version as it reduces the cpu load and reduces the ping sigificant.
Further more you will need the your freedom client
please get the lastest version of that client from http://www.your-freedom.net/index.php?id=3Further requirements
You have to create an account with your freedom. Do this here http://www.your-freedom.net/index.php?id=170&L=0
This account is free but will have limitations, I go more into details later. For starter just create an account and verify it in order to be able to use their service.Installation
Please install the OpenVPN and the Your Freedom client using the default install (you can select to install the software for your entire machine or just for you as a user, that is up to you)
Reboot your machine.Configuration
After the reboot please open the your freedom client and a wizard will be shown to you. Process the wizard using the default values.
Once you have done this open the your freedom client window and open the ports tab. Check the openVPN selection and leave the Port on 1194. Now change back to the status tab and press start connection. If you start eve now, you should be able to play eve online without disconnects.
OK. As you might realize the performance of this configuration is ... well ... lacking. :D
