Considering 99% of pvpers use t2/t1 boosters/reppers that's a ridiculous way of comparing them...not to mention there are better armor reps available.

I actually fly both armor tanking and shield tanking ships, and I think they are fairly even. Shield is probably a bit stronger..but you have to sacrifice crucial pvp mods (scrams/web/EW/etc) to fit it, or remove some shield mods weakening your tank. Basically, if you can't tackle you can't win (unless your enemy is really stupid), and to tackle with shield tanked ships usually requires sacrificing your tank.

If you are in a decent sized gang with a lot of tacklers this is less of an issue of course...but if you are fighting against a big gang and they call you primary you are probably screwed either way ;)

"In big fleets DPS is more important then how well you tank, since if you get primaried you'll pretty much drop anyway"

It's just plain stupid to have any tank setup, better to fit dps and sensor mods.

I think this is why I love Minnie ships...

- I can go either with with my Minnie ships, I can go shield tanking as a command ship (usually primary though!!)
- I can go speed with my vaga with nice armor tank and speed

Remember kids, speed kills.

Also that's the problem with Minnie ships, I didn't get it until I hit 20M sp... But the bottom line, in fleet ops, I armor tank. In PvE I shield tank. But I do use shield tanking in command ops.

don't forget that armor repair mods also take a huge chunk of pg compared to shield boosters that take a larger cpu amount when fitting.
