I hate this game. Its like cigarettes, you try to quit, move on to other things, and I end up with withdrawals. CCP, you are a bunch of bastages. Why did you have to make the best damn game ever so that I cant leave. After almost 4 years in this game, I have attempted to leave at least 4 times to other games, always to return because no one else can make a competent game like EVE. This last effort i left to play Tabula Rasa, got to level 25, and couldnt stand it any longer. You give us free expansions, upgrade the graphics which are beyond beautiful, you are active in our threads when other games dont even have forums, you give us a sandbox game with limitless possibilities when others give us recycled themepark sword swinging magic casting garbage clone copies with new names with endless grinds.
Here I am again. Maybe i'll never learn.

I feel the opposite about the game, I love it but have trouble motivating myself to play it.
But the forums, thats a whole other story... |

Edited by: Empyre on 11/12/2007 02:21:25as we used to say in the navy.. a b*tching sailor is a happy sailor. glad to see you're happy at least. ps no one is ever happy with anything for very long. it's human nature. we get used to things, hate them so throw them away only to later miss them and either retrieve or replace them. some people even do it using other people. the key is overcoming that initial urge to express yourself in between having it and having it again. edit: forgot the most important part: eve rocks! (o'doyle rules!) edit2: got a question, though.. when someone posts a new thread, frothing at the mouth about how they're going to sue ccp. is that pre or post-pubescent, with respect to the aging process within eve one goes from start to veteran? i shutter to remember the day i posted them.. and hope ccp archives have a limit. |

You Sir, is everything that is wrong with Eve.
Who on Earth would want a sandbox where only your own imagination determines your journey.
I demand set pieces, a leash to be guided through this game by, and a complete disregard for those who play with me ... whose actions should not affect me in any way whatsoever.
Not to mention that when my imagination fails me I demand to be led into isk profitable avenues.

Let's say that they desighed the game to addict players. Even if you dont want to play for a month, you will still keep your subscription valid just to train some skills. I am almost sure, that even after three years, a player would not have trained every skills.
Updates and upgrades are helping your addiction too. They have to bring new ideas to the game and this is the secret to keep a community together.
I am a new player, less that 2 months old, after only few hours, i knew that i would like this game for years, that's why i already pay for one year, that is the only way to save a bit of money.
My only fear is the danger of the game becoming boring by new ingame technology that will bring everybody closer to invulnerability. CCP, be careful and keep a fear factor in the game.
Good job,

This. In comparison to what EVE was like back in 2003, we're practically invulnerable (in Low-sec at least) No WTZ, No gateguns in lowsec, No basic insurance (and the insurance you DID get only lasted 5 days), No 5km/sec MWD-backto-gate setups, No auto-cloak, No hidden deadspace ISK fountains (L4 Missions), etc. This game is losing it's Niche more than anything. Most might see it as a good thing as it encourages a broader playerbase and keeps CCP in business and thus developing the game, but for others (like myself) the things that once kept us hooked are few and far between. I don't think I've actually had the motivation to really go out and play EVE for over 6 months, but have logged on to train skills etc every few days as if I somehow might come back and play properly again It's not what I'd call an addiction since I barely log on anymore, more an inability to really let go. I hate it. |

Where imaginitive players can have their 'sandbox' refilled with Kitty litter after 2 or 3 years because people who are either too dumb to use their own imagination, too lazy to train a different Race or too impatient to aquire the SP to compete with older players outnumber them. |
