Is there any way to set a custom screen size?

I run the mac client at 1920x1200 in fullscreen, but when I switch to windowed mode the undock button on the lower left of the game is pushed offscreen.

I don't really want to drop the whole way down to 1600x1000 in order to undock from stations in windowed mode.

Is there any way to set a custom screen size of about 1792x1120 rather than the defaults?

follow the steps here:
http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=403

and on the lines directly above the fullscreen setting you will see options for setting window height and width

I can't seem to make this solution work, the client respects the windowed mode setting, but refuses to use the custom resolution, it just sticks with the 1600x1000 that I set in the game...

Do I need to trash my preferences and start from scratch?

Thanks

Didn't work for me either, as I though I'd read elsewhere.

Anyone have a working solution?

I had no luck with this either. I have to press apple/enter to go back into full mode, undock and then apple/enter again. It takes about one second, so it's not really a problem, but it would be nice to resize windows.

I cant actually see the bottom of the pane when in windowed mode, so I don't know if the resize by dragging control is there or not. If it is, is there a way to get to it?

Sorry, not much help, I know!

Hi, just a quick update

been into an apple store today, and explained the situation, and they say that there is nothing that can be done from the apple side, it has to be done from eves.

really stupid question, but i have a skills widget installed so i dont have to go through the game for time remaining etc.
would it be possible to make an undocking widget, so you dont have to exit windowed mode.

I know nothing about the technical side of this, but i have a feeling its a really dumb question, sorry.

No. What you're requesting is totally different. The skill widget gets information by requesting data from an XML feed through http://api.eve-online.com/ - an "undocking" widget would require direct game access.

However (and I can't believe nobody has suggested this yet) - you can set a keyboard shortcut for undocking in the options - add it in from the column on the right and hit the key combo you want. Then just use that key combination to undock in future.

Two option to get around the problem:

1)To undock from a station you can right click your ship and slect the option "UNDOCK FROM STATION".

2)Make the buttons on the left bigger by expanding them ussing the >> on the top left.

I really hope that help. On the other hand I do not recommend playing the game with a part of the screen missing. It would be nice if there is a mode to play it in window mode and still see all the screen.

the fullscreen entry in the config file is now obsolete with the newer version of cider, so change that line to say "desktop" = "1280x1024" for whatever resolution you want to use in windowed mode. if you recently deleted the config file then the client will have rebuilt it with the desktop line already in there but itll be set to N or 0. that should let you fine tune it so the bottom doesnt get cut off.

edit: forgot to say that if you wanna run in an odd aspect ratio you may also have to add desktopWidth and desktopHeight lines to the prefs.ini file in ~/library/preferences/eve online preferences/local settings/application data/ccp/eve/settings. i havent tested this with the newer client but i believe those lines still have an effect.
