Anyone else experiencing this? Using the wrapped client it crashes randomly. No particular action taken or time in game.

Well, I logged in just fine a bit ago to change my skill, and just now when I decided to play for a bit it started up just fine. When I undocked, however, it crashed right as the next screen was beginning to display. So I started it up again just to make sure it wasn't a one time thing, but it crashed right as I was beginning to see the screen display me warping to the station I had previously undocked from.

I honestly wouldn't mind all that much, except for the fact that I am now stuck outside of a station.. so I can't really change my skill or play until I get this working... or if I find a windows PC... I think I may just wait..

Also getting random crashes. First one when i warped to a stargate then crashed again when i logged in, then worked for a while and then crashed inside a space station and then i gave up.

5 crashes today with Trinity, compared to none with Revelations II up to here. Crashes so often it is unplayable at the moment.

Mostly crashes when arriving to a station after using the "dock" command from a stargate. Nothing to do with number of players: also crashes when there's less than 20 players in the system, or when i'm alone in front of the station.
When relogin after a crash, the station's not there. It mysteriously reappears like 30sec after.

Also, several other UI bugs (but they don't crash the computer).

Seriously guys, it's time to give us a break with the marketing hype. Why did us linux user have to wait until Trinity's out to be told we weren't included in the graphic update?
I know Christmas is coming, but rushing updates out like this is surely not the way to go. Basically the only things we got are downtime and now crashes.

Trinity's even been able to crash down my whole linux box that had not rebooted in weeks, and trust me, this is truly an impressive achievement - the only one i can spot so far.
Hopefully i don't have any boot.ini file so i could reboot correctly...

Not seeing any crashes here. Running 1 and 2 clients it has been smooth sailing.

I am seeing a slow memory "creep" with longer sessions, so its possible there may be a memory fix in the future? (this isn't a bad leak but its obvious there is an increase over time that is more than it was pre-patch.)

I've experienced a number of crashes, but it's still playable for my low risk activities (not going to bet the farm right after a big upgrade ugh). One thing I have noticed is that the crashes occur when I'm doing something. I haven't had a left alone autopilot crash, for example. And I'd say that I spent around 1/5 of my time afk. So there should have been a good chance (I had maybe ten crashes over the past day for about 5-6 hours of play). Nothing consistent unlike the petition problem which I've already posted about on this forum. We'll need to log this I think. What debug flags would the CCP Q/A people like to see?

Got it back up; Eve suddenly decided it didn't want to share audio with wine. Had to turn the sound off on eve before it would start back up.Rolling Eyes

Had the same issue. Go into options and disable sound, problem solved.

Besides, it's space... there isn't any sound anyways Wink

24 hours smooth, and.......Now I'm crashing every 5-15 minutes as well. Not completely sure what to make of this. (reinstalling from scratch because all other possibilities other than corrupted client have been eliminated.)
We shall see.......

In the last two hours my client has crashed three times: undocking, launching drones, warping into a mission level. :( The client before Trinity was quite stable on the same machine.

I ended up unable to use the debugger to submit a report on this, as everytime the debugger was started, EVE turned into a snail, no matter the level of debugging that was started.

I ended up stripping cedega, eve-linux and ripping the nvidia drivers out. restarted with generic vesa and reinstalled the Nvidia 100.23 drivers via ENVY which has several package installs that may/may not be necessary beyond the ones I had installed to install the drivers via the command line. (but better safe than sorry.)

I then reinstalled a clean eve-linux client. One hour, several jumps, multiple dock/undocks, releases of drones and one nice little pvp fight at a gate later, no crashes. We'll see this evening if this continues, or if this is some random bug in the client that arbitrarily kills it.

Update: Since my initial post 2 more random crashes. Once while jumping through a gate and the other while in station. The first one while jumping through gate I was in game for at least 3 hours, pvp, etc... The second while in station was in game for about 15 minutes went to pull up character info. Both times it crashes to desktop. I have since wiped all drivers and uninstalled the EvE client as well as Cedega from my system and re-installed nVidia driver via Envy and the CCP wrapped client. Will see if this issue continues with a clean install of both.

Update here as well. After doing what I described in my last post, logged in and did some POS maintenance stuff. For 45 minutes all was well including dock/undock several jumps as well as other stuff. Then sitting at the pos doing NOTHING other than just sitting there: CTD. No warning, no errors, nothing. System monitor showing no wine or wineserver running, so the crash was complete.

After having checked with the windows AND the mac forums I"m seeing multiple posts/threads with folks who are having clients freezing, ctd's or outright lockups...for no apparent reason.

So apparently this is a client issue rather than an OS issue.

When my client crashed, EVE was the ONLY active application running, so I'm of the opinion here that we are going to be facing this until the client is patched to fix the issue. I have bug reported this as random and described the issue, but I'm unable to use the debug section of the config tool as EVE crawls to a screeching 1fps while it is running, making meaningful actions impossible to do.

Ahh the joys of big patches. (Sev remembering Castor with a shudder.)

I wouldn't want to risk it with this client, suddenly crashing and all. Trading and hauling is all fine manageable and dandy but PVP doesn't seem like a very good idea with all these seemingly random crashes about...

Really bad stuff.

Edit: it's not fine, it's manageable.

I have had incredible difficulty trying to actually figure out what specifically could be causing it.

Yesterday it was random from touching nothing, to opening the scanner, to running a show info, but a PVP engagement went by smoothly.

Today its been undock and crash, warp and crash.

I have turned off Eve Voice, turned off sound, but nothing seems to make that much a difference.

Has anyone noticed any useful information with all the debugging turned on?

Crashing here too. For me this seems to happen when a grid loads, e.g. warpin to battle or crowded gate.

I am also experiencing quite frequent and random crashes.

Client starts up fine, works perfectly for a random amount of time (10 minutes on average) then just crashes. This happens no matter what actions are being carried out in the game. No errors are displayed on the console if I run it through there, it just dies.

At this point only thing I can do is set a very long skill and not log in till some patch is released to fix this.

One more having the same problem. No errors in terminal, nothing on the screen. Eve just disappears.

It does seem to happen less when sitting in station. I was able to leave it running while I was afk for about 2 hours.

I logged in with some of the debug functions on, just sat in station, used people and places to search on random people and show info.

This is what I got in my most recent crash with debug settings
+server,+seh,+process,+thread,+tid

full file located here

edit: I have now gotten the exact same exception 3 times in a row.

Sorry it breaks the forums, feel free to edit this part out and just grab the file, but i felt the exact error would be useful.

Just make sure you bug report and send that .zip file to CCP. On my rig the debug caused such slugged out performance that I couldn't have it running.

The faster they get to the root cause on this, the faster we'll be able to play normally.

Currently, I'm installing an XP disk on my rig and the eve client to see if its something to with hardware vs. software.

ahh feel dirty, but I'd rather eliminate the hardware as the cause, and I'm seeing a LOT of windowws and mac users having similar issues.
(crashes, lock ups, freezes, etc.

Same as the guys from above, just random crashes... I seem to be getting one every hour or so, damn annoying that. Before trinity everything worked flawlessly, so i daubt that its on my side, besides im way above the recommended system. The client just seems unstable.
