Targetting position - BAD my target slots are now behind my HUD is there any way i can change this?

graphically.. i have to say overall is well done, will be good when all the bugs (or at least the most prominant ones) are sorted.

Complete from scratch re-install... Still crashing randomly anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes in. Doesn't seem to matter what I do. System listed as compatible, and well above minimum requirements, running Vista.

So why were the highest tier medium sized turrets increased in volume to 100m3, while large turrets are still just 50m3?

Here's some feedback for you. I've seen some pretty goofy and wierd things put into Eve since I started playing in late beta but what on earth were you thinking when you reduced the RSD effectiveness without giving a small boost to the effectiveness of them on the Maulus and Celestis' hulls? I can understand the need to reduce it for non-ewar style ships that have extra med slots but whole RSD as ewar is just terrible now with ships designed for it. Sensor boosters may have been reduced but you still have to dump alot of RSDs on a target to be really feel like you have an effect at all. I was going to go into Gallente ewar after I finish with some Caldari ewar skills but if gallente ewar stays like this, I sure as hell won't train it. Talk about useless.

Looks good so far, although premium isn't available for the Mac client. Looking forward to trying out some of the new missions.

Just one minor continuing complaint: Could you nerf the green spotlights in the Gallente stations? It doesn't matter how many of those you shine; Batman isn't coming!

The torpedoes, they do nothing!

9k range on torpedoes, 13.5k on the long range torps? You realize that makes it so anybody ratting with torp ravens have to land right on top of their targets, and half the time that never happens? Guristas will try to keep you at a 30k range, making our torpedoes useless. At least bring them back up to around 45-75km range so we can actually hit something with em.

adding on to annoyances...
-Arm script really sucks, nerfs pretty much sensor boosters, tracking computers, links all by 50%. First off would've been ok if the attribute changes were over 100% to say 150 or even least 125%. At least even have the decency to seed some scripts and not price the bps at 1.5 mil each.
-Pin down windows don't stay pinned down.
-Windows no longer open in a new window without the help of shift click
-Make up your mind on the volume of items.
-Full screen loading's bit annoying as well.

Pretty sure were it not for a new graphics engine, you'd have more complaints regarding the new changes, congrats on distracting the masses.

I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with the expansion and the new graphics. I was a little worried that my GeForce 6200 LE might struggle with the new graphics, but with tweaking, I am getting all sorts of smoothness. Only place I have trouble is inside the stations, but that is to be expected with that many 3D objects in one place. It still nice enough for me to notice the attention to detail you paid when creating the floaty effect in the hangar. Very nice.

As for all the complaints, give the Dev's a chance guys, It's all data, and bugs can be worked out. Relax!

I was kind of happy with the premium stuff until I undocked. "Kind of" only because my framerate was going really low. It's okay, I'd sort of expected that as my computer could do with a little update. Love the fact all ships hover in station, now Very Happy

The problem happened when I, eager to look at more of my ships, tried to undock and go to a different station. I got to see the station and my ship all white for all of 5 seconds and then crashed. Reconnected. Same thing. I am now stuck outside my station because when I reconnect if I so much as move my mouse while I hover outside station the client will crash Crying or Very sad

And yes, my computer while in need of a little overhaul is still supposed to be able to run the new stuff. I feel lost and sad and unsure of what to do, short of going back to classic content.

I'm a bit curious as to why the NPC bounty system was changed to add a 15-20 minute delay in the rewards payout. There are no delays in payments for any other profession in Eve so why ratting?

Dragging heels, no its called having responsibilities and a life.

And yes left behind is an applicable thing to say. In the fact that the patch for the "classic" version didn't do anything graphically. After they bragged so much about all their time and effort into the graphics for the expansion. They didn't do anything for those who wouldn't be able to "upgrade".

THAT is what left behind meant, had the comment actually been read with eyeballs. Than there would be a better understanding of the english used therein. Anyways, its just disappointing that they hyped up their expansion. And didn't make it accesible to all their users.

IN the MMO universe, you don't leave paying customers behind. Or you LOSE said customers. Eve doesn't have all that many in the first place. It was a poor decision, to do nothing to the classic version.

Done with this topic. Anyone who wants to speak back against me, i'm glad you were able to see the shiny new graphics, and have enough money to support that. Goodjob, i'll go join the rest of the world, who can't always update, but still can pay to play.

Your logic is seems wacked. You may leave the game because there are optional prettier graphics available you can't use and you didn't get any prettier graphics with the 24mb patch? Alright...

I am mildly confused. My computer runs the new graphics better than the old ones. I'm getting better fps with the premium graphics post-trinity than I did pre-trinity. Did anyone else experience this?

The new graphics engine is probably utilizing your graphics card more effectively then the old one. Even with the prettier graphics it may perform better.

/signed This pretty much screws Ravens as ratting ships (for those of us that prefer torps over cruise).

we have used our time to skill this skills up and now they are so terrible that i can just throw those skills in the toilett.
So why change something that works well?
So we that got torps skills cant do missions for a couple of weeks to get our skills for cruise?

remarkably smooth deployment for me thus far vs previous patches I've experienced. A ton of little changes I haven't yet explored or tweaked. Overall, I think this was a well done patch, CCP.

Now, the bad: scripts being separate, player made ammo=dumb. Just build it into the module and then supply in 0.0 won't be yet another annoying thing to deal with. There are enough things to remember as is, adding more is simply adding annoyance not features.

I really don't like the tier1 gallente color, CCP. I really don't. It's horrid. I'm not nitpicking here, I'm staunchly opposed to how poorly it looks in a variety of lighting situations. Please consider changing it as I literally cringed in horror when I tried my Mega and Domi. In particular, the Domi reminded me of a toy I would give my nephew for Christmas, not a big, nasty killing machine from the far-flung future. Also, my Deimos looks like french pea soup was sprayed on. Again, it was enough to make me shake my head in wonder at how poor the color choice was given your graphic designers are professionals.

I haven't looked at many of my other ships yet so I hope I will be pleasantly surprised.

My X-fi still doesn't appear to have hw acceleration in Vista. Can we please have that back? Sound seems something obvious to have on a fix-list, tbh.

Overall, I should stress that the release seems stable for me, the 3.0 graphics run well/quite well, many graphical elements look great, but I am left with some issues I hope you look at very soon.

In the past, I was able to run two clients off the same install of EVE using different video settings. Now when I attempt to set them to different sizes running simultaneously, the client attempting to change its own settings encounters an EVE error and crashes out.

Yes, could be fixed by creating a copy of EVE and running from a separate client, but might be a sign of something else so I thought it was worth posting.

My faction fitted missioning CNR is now an expensive piece o' junk. Unless I want to refit with faction cruise launchers there's no way I can effectively mission anymore. Nice nerf taking my range from 95km to 7.5km. A bit extreme don't you think?

Oh and thanks for eating my boot.ini. Damned glad I didn't reboot before I found out about that little jewel.

I'm so close to hitting the cancel button. But the graphics look nice. What a friggen trade.

Okay, my earlier "MOAR METAPHORICAL BREE FOR CCP!" post notwithstanding, I do have some negative feedback... (this is largely the result of an extremely long conversation that made me re-consider my opinions on a few things, and reinforced my opinions on others)

1: ARM scripts.
I'm sorry, but I've never liked these. Not since they were first announced. I protested them the moment I learned about what they do, and their actual implementation has actually been an even more significant change than I thought it would be.

I continue to view them as an utterly unnecessary change that does nothing but take a number of modules that were not broken, and messily bludgeon to death with the nerf bat.

2: the black ops battleship
Nice idea in principle, execution flawed. They're so extremely costly to build that their limited mission profile makes justifying the expense difficult at best.

They are intended to be excellent support for small-scale PvP gangs. Unfortunately, effective PvP on the small scale is a tricky proposition at best - with the systems in place to allow large fleets to relocate pretty much instantly, small gangs are limited in the amount of damage that they can do before an overwhelming response force arrives, especially given that these black ops gangs would naturally consist of those ship classes with some of the lowest DPS outputs in the game.

Black Ops ships, being by nature larger and slower than the rest of their gang (which rely on mobility to survive) and many times more expensive, are impractical for use as they exist right now.

3: Drone Bandwidth
Again, the principle's pretty sound but I consider the execution to be marred by the way one specific ship has been handled - the Myrmidon.

If memory terms, the Vexor cruiser presently has a drone bandwidth of 75Mb/s (allowing for three heavy drones - and yes, I know that's not optimal, but this is just for comparison.), and the Dominix battleship has an output of 125 (allowing for five heavy drones). The Myrmidon is a dedicated droneboat battlecruiser - implying to me that it should sit neatly in between the other two with a drone bandwidth of 100, allowing for four heavies out at once. Instead, it has... 75. Same as it's little cousin, and much LESS than the Ishtar. In fact, it has the exact same drone output as any other battlecruiser.... despite being the only (in theory) dedicated drone-BC.

I don't even fly Gallente, but to me, this reads as a case of overcompensating. The Myrmidon may indeed have been a little too heavy-hitting for its weight category, but I am worried that this change might be too heavy-handed, effectively entirely negating the ship's usefulness.

Now for the upbeat stuff:
1: Pretty graphics are always good, and I still think that the people complaining about the new Gallente look are either blind or brain-damaged. I especially like the cloaking effect.
2: Free EVE voice is for considerable win.
3: I like the more customizable UI and new fleet interface
4: the new killmail system's excellent
5: heat's getting some love. Still not going to use it, though.

All in all, I still like Trinity, but I'd be lying if I said I was comfortable with all of the changes it brings.

Was it really necessary to fix the the don't-show-corp-titles bug? Titles amount to access groups - they make it easier to manage access control by assigning corp members to groups with various privileges. Is there actually a good reason for forcibly displaying access groups that are relevant only to in-corp operations in a character's public info? It's just plain clutter. We already have the ability to show custom titles anyway. Why forcibly display functional titles that are relevant only inside the corp? Can we at last get an option to decide whether a title should be displayed?

thanks for all the good work CCP, me and my mates really like the new graphics :)

also the ingame-download of the premium content was pretty fast :)

drone AI really seems to be improved a lot, targets and overview aren't click-trough anymore, and and and...

now i dont know if there ever will be any chance again to lose my addiction to EVE :)

but some little bugs we've found so far:
- mining lasers, strip miners and ice harvesters have wrong sounds and crappy turret animation... our miners arent happy about that, which means that they dont mine that much anymore :-//
- the move-targetUI-button seems to get stuck under other UI elements sometimes, tricky to explain to others that they need to move and change stuff to get access to it... awhile when its on the right side, its a little far from the first target icon. also its pretty much transparent, which makes it hard to find for the first times.
- going to find out more, hehe... ;))

anyway - REALLY GOOD WORK, WE LOVE IT! :)
