To be constructive, remove the new fleet interface and replace it with the old one, I dont want to have to fiddle around, every time I get in a gang setting who I am paying attention to in respect to damage I liked the old way (and if you dont change it back then at least let me choose how to display it!).

The size of the names and icons are too big, and cause uneeded clutter. making it very difficult to see who is in what squad without risking carpal tunnel syndrome.

On a positive note, the broadcast box is useful I found, but again too big and cluttery. Tidy it a little please.

Perhaps the best thing for you guys to do would be to release an api and let the players put together frontends that suit our needs.

Could the Amarr and Minmatar be any more useless at this point ? Sure the Gallente got shafted with the color thing, but damn. No love. The Amarr ships keep getting crap bonus's and lasers still suck. The only upside to Minny is speed, and thats it.

Six months from now we'll be able to walk in stations and the Amarr and Minny will still be busted.

Where is the balance ? Who's job is it to ensure the ships are different but equal ?

Ok, I don't know what is up with this, perhaps it is just a momentary EVE bug, but the prowler ''appears'' unfinished. IT is missing its blue swirly particle effects and grating over the warp core thingy in the middle of the ship. Even some parts of the ship, (the middle back pannel in paticular) seems a bit slapstick as well. Also for the jaguar some of the blue thruster particle effects are missing and is this ship supposed to be dull in colour? Even if I have the HDR on with full bloom the ship is still really dull.

Now, i know you people out in dev world have been really busy with the ''oh noes! the world is going to end!'' bug and all of late, but I am kinda dissapointed at the fact my 2 favorite ships are either unfinshed or looks like it was produced by the Wonka factory. Perhaps you can take a look at these ships in the somewhat near future?

That, and yes perhaps I am just not used to it and all, but the brown and baby blue of the Minmatar Tech 2 ships really dose not suite them well, or, at least in my eyes.ugh

Anywho, that's my feedback. With the galente/caldari/ammar, just stunning, absolutely stunning.Very Happy

Nice work CCP!

Love the new grafix....love the redone ships n stuff.

BUT

1. Go back to old gang/fleet interface
2. Put the old strip miners back
3. Put the locked targets back on the right. (yeah yeah I know theres a little target icon you can use to move them but the icon is off screen so I cant even see the damn thing on half my accounts and toons)

Tell us where all the new exploration sites are!!! Ive scanned about 30 systems and found NOT ONE site other than hidden belts (and I only got 2 of them).

Love the new graphics though they do run a little slow on my system. Probably for fleet stuff I'll want to use the old graphics.

But I don't understand why torps were changed. Testing them out the other day I noticed they are essentially useless on my Raven now. The ship is just too slow to close the distance enough to use the increased damage.

Most star systems are binary, I think you can see the companion star in each system now, as a slightly bigger/brighter star.

(might be wrong though)

Omg thanks for ruining all my favourite ships, The machariel looks like **** now with that lame camo scheme. You guys have to revert back to BLACK the same goes for the Hel.

Gallente colors suck. Super suck. Not fun to play suck.

in this thread instead. Note the section about "persistent universe".

All the other race's ships look great, the HDR and shadows are beautiful on my nVidia 8800 GTS. The screen does periodically flash black for maybe 1/8 of a second every minute or so, don't know what's going on with that.

OH GOODY GOOD just found out u guys also removed the machariel bpc and pre buildt from the arch angels lp store, YIPEEE not even worth doing faction missions any more. im gonna keep training skills for a few more months and see if u guys can make this game fun again, if not im gonna quit.

The FACT is that a significant amount of players just hate the new gallentean color sheme.

Ccp should investigate this. Maybe the hypothetic eye-candy-catch-me-a-new-customer will result on a "What is that crap?! I'll go playing another game."

The trailers and the officials screenshots are taken in dark and green areas. I guess why Laughing. But, the real design can't be hidden forever, reviews, "google images", eve files ... All show gallente ships under they true schmurf face, not dark geen badass that ccp used to show in trinity previews.

As i said, it must be investigated. ,many people are whining, some like the changes it is true... BUT The least that we can say is that color sheme is NOT federative. Look at the new Caldari graphics: except for the nighthawk, do you hear Calda pilots saying that they prefer their old raven? No !! No one ! Do you hear Gallente pilots saying they prefer the old myrm, the old hyperion (and other T1 ships) ? Yes ! they are a lot.

New graphics are money tractor beam feature, it is sad that it could'nt be exploited to its optimal.
... And there is no smoke without fire ...

I thought I would add a little to my earlier comment having played around for a solid block of a few hours.

I have turned off premium content. Dont get me wrong, some of the new ship models are truly beautiful, I really like my new Enyo model, with everything turned on full it looks fantastic, like a little die cast model :)
Not fond of the 'baby' blue colours of other Gallente ships though, in fact I'd like it a lot if you swapped them back to previous colourations thank you very much.

However, when I try and use two clients, everything all goes to hell. So eve voice turned off (by the way I'd have that off by default if I were you, there is no need at all for something like that to by insta absorbing resources if it isn't needed) cache's off etc etc.
Still no good.
One client on Classic one on premium still major frame rate dropout so as I said back to basics, and things got better immediately.

Next, doing anything with the interface seems now to be a very slow process, buying items seems laggy.
As does searching though cans, using the assets tab.
Doesn't matter if I am in a crowded high sec hub or a desolate 0.0 wasteland, there is a definite loss of responsiveness in all my interactions, except flying.

Contracting goods is now a positively awful experience, particularly if like my trader alt, you have crap in many stations and just want to right click and contract the item, it adds several extra clicks to what I want to do and adds them repetitively.

Next I cannot contract secure passworded cans anymore, why not? Is this a change designed to inspire more in game theft or just to make things more awkward? Not needed so change back please.

There are quite a few interface bugs, using the compare function without closing its window after each item brings up faults.

Looking at corporations standings and then looking at one of the standing holders, then clicking the back chevron causes odd behaviour.

My interface is not persistant, in that local is remerged with my other tabs after each restart. Also sometimes when I open more than one container it is merged with another container window, despite the fact that I have settings that are supposed to stop this happening.
When I split these containers, they both drop to a tiny size and I have to resize them, adding more wasted time and more unneccesary repetitive motions...

Also as this is constructive, may I suggest that you guys see if you can hire Jacob Neilson to give the overview and general UI a once over.
It would be expensive to get his team to do a thorough examination but really worthwhile I think.

Also I know we bugged you to release Trinity as soon as possible, but it looks like it just wasn't ready.
Using Eve has gone from feeling like home, to feeling like I am wading through jelly. There is just so much unfamiliar and unexpected behaviour about the interface that I am only scratching the surface in my comments above.
I enjoy playing for several hours at a stretch but in the present state the UI is pretty discordant and I don't really want to.
I hope you sort it all out soon, so that I can feel comfortable playing long stretches again.

the mining laser really need to remain the classic version one, the "new" one sounds and looks noob laser alike.

gellente ships's colour isn't that impressive...
it is F.E.A.R. alike standard graphic, well, can't compare with both, since those arn't independent developer.

anyway, i personally demand some new ship model, not some kind of upgrade version of the old model. if CCP is lack of ideas, why not set a new ship design contest, surely it would help alot to both parties.

on the pro side, trinity is looks good, and better drones managment. on the con side, it lag even i've a core 2 quad 2.6G + 8600GTS. there are some bug such as overview bug need to fix, graphic bugs also.

i say CCP has done it's proactive move, need some more quality control on scriping/programming for sure.


finally plase do some exercise, that could boost some work efficiency up for sure. :P

  • EvE Voice need a larger choice of activation hotkeys. No, in fact it would be better if it can be like TS : The user set a key of his choice, but not like EvE where we had to choice in a predefined and limited list.

    Habitually for TS I use the AppsKey because he is totally useless in a normal situation. I wanted use the Right Windows Key for EvE Voice (totally useless too) to have it beside TS so easily accessible, but none of them are in the list in EvE, so I must choice in one of the useful key and risk some unwanted activations in the future...


  • The "Selected Item" panel of the overview must permit to anyone to set and fix icons at big size, not by an automatic (and really annoying) resizing way of the panel.

    Big icons can use a second line if required, but not reduce their size because I don't give them enough space to be big. Too small, there are totally not user-friendly.

    So I had so to expand the general size of the overview to have big icons, at the expense of more precious space where I can see the background/ship correctly.

There is all ok with gallentian color, but what they do with dampers? I've spend 2 month to train damper skills to good level, and what? Before my dampers strenght was 70% (a lot, i know, but its take a long time to train them so strong) now they are 53% WITH scripts. Its on celestis, and all corresponding skills at 5. 53%!!! Dampers is TRASH now... Where do my 2 months of study go?

It may be ok if they cut base of T2 dampers from 37% to 30 or even 25... But 17% on T2 - it is absurd! And they bust jammers in same time... I don't get the idea...

And this "bandwith" stuff... Its ok, its realistic, but it make impossible to use 5 heavy drones on Myrmidon in same time.

This patch hit me hard. Really hard. Because i'am:

1 - Gallente
2 - Drone User
3 - Damper specialist

Expect this i cannot do anything. So, what should i do now?

Beautiful graphics, horrible nerfs.

Loot sizes from frigate belt rats going up to 20m3 or 100m3? Salvaging for low level missions and asteroid belts is going to require a dedicated hauler at this rate.

It strikes me that patches should make a game more fun, not less. If this is an attempt to fix the problem of mineral compression, it's a poorly designed bandaid that fails to address the problem at its source.

I love what ye done to the grafix... everything looks EXcellent... well, nearly everything...
i actually swithced back to the old contend a all gallente ships look absolutely uninspired!
the new models are nice, dont get me wrong, but the skins... well... dull, to say the least...

any thoughts of having another go at them?

I'm still getting my head around all the changes; most seem OK. however, I already went back to the old graphics because the Gallente ships now just make me want to hurl up lunch. What happend to dark green and gunmetal? They used to look so good... now they look tacky

I've not gone too deep into trinity, but the nightmare nerf seems to be another blow to the mission runners. It seems that it can only be that ccp wishes to make the new marauder BSs look more appealing by killing a good mission ship. Not only that, the NPC nightmares still cruise missile spam you relentlessly.
It saddens me more then their choice to not let carriers do low sec exploration missions or lvl4s....
The mission runners and industrialists in empire drive alot of the eve economy. Please don't drive them away from the game.
I know of one who will quit eve due to this, and he's been here since "frigate" was the only ship class...

1. Gallente coulours, I love them. I don't see why all the whining about them, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. I think they look a lot more appropriate for space ships. The dominix doesn't look like a brown piece of freshly baked crap, it's pretty cool now actually.

2. Strip miner visuals, I hate them. I can absolutely see, as I hope you will too ccp, why this whining is occuring. And no, I don't think this is a matter of opinion, if there's a single hard-core miner out there who likes the new audio/visual on them, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.

Ships look wonderful in my opinion, and the graphics are insane. But then again, I don't play to stare at graphics, I play to play the game. They can make my ships squares for all I care, as long as the game is fun Laughing

The baby blue gallente color scheme needs to be looked at and adjusted in my opinion. While I do think a bluish-green color works well with the silver hulls of gallente ships, I think a slightly darker/bolder shade would be appropriate.

The pastel bluish color makes otherwise intimidating ships look very passive. I think a darker color like Navy blue or perhaps Hunter green would look much better on the new ship designs.

CCP, please hire some professional UI designers/programmers and QA people ... The client needs a major rewrite and I don't mean 2-3 drunk people working on it now and then.

EVE has a great game design, but the code is crap. It's a shame.

IS it just me but this is how I set the game up to play:

undock
turn off ALL special effects, all fancy occlusion etc.
zoom out to actually see all the area out to (say) 50km

Now stop me if I'm wrong but that's 50 man years worth of graphics updates wasted .. I never see them. My ship is so small at the centre of my display and as for who I'm shooting .. jeez .. no idea .. they are a red cross . very graphics intensive (/sarcasm) sure they make for a nice promo video to reel in new paying accounts but I think most seasoned players would be happy with wire-frame if it meant smooth gang vs. gang combat.

Just think what 50 man-years worth of bug fixing and balancing would have achieved? but I suppose that doesn't attract more paying customers does it?

I love it.

Graphics: I have a 7950 GX2 and with HDR, Bloom, Shadows all on max my card sails through it good as gold. This pleases me no end. Pff, who needs Dx10 :-p

New ships look very nice - i hate the the way they are implemented the same as i hated the way HAC's where introduced, just gives the profiteers the chance to screw the rest of us but I understand why its like that and i will live.

Moveable interface: Well, its not THAT moveable is it? give us the option of moving the center-piece?

Overall: Nice job CCP

First the good things:

Nice job on the graphics, overall. Minor quibbles, but a lot of good stuff there.
Being able to see what your drones are attached to. Very Happy
Assist function for drones
Adjustable interface (not there yet, but it's a start)

Now the bad:

Torps. They were just fine the way they were, now they are almost useless. Put them back, please!
CNR paint scheme. Black was nice. Jungle Camo is not. Evil or Very Mad (It's a spaceship, not a hovercraft)
Not a big fan of the new Gallente colours, either. Baby blue warships just don't do it for me, somehow. Rolling Eyes
Module size changes. Looting missions or even a half decent belt of rats is just painful now. Yes, I can understand changing sizes to bring inline with materials used, but a lot of them are well in excess of that. And why on earth did the size of ppl for missions go up too? Surely everyone in the EVEverse didn't gain THAT much weight overnight...
