Anyone picked this up yet? I reserved it and got it on the first day. Wow. What a spectacular game. It does a really great job of satisfying my sci-fi lust. The only problem is that it tends to overheat my 360, and the framerate gets kind of choppy at times. I think that is halfway caused by the overheating, and half caused because the game was rushed into finalization by Bioware. (Or so I've heard)

For those of you who have purchased it, (and for those who haven't, GET IT NOW Laughing) what are your thoughts on it so far?

My thought: Garrus is totally useless in combat, yet he is awesome so I always bring him along.

Agreed. Thats something else I wanted to ask. Which party members do you generally bring along? I usually stick with Tali, as she has good hacking skills, and I cant get into containers without her. Wrex/Ashley are the other two that usually accompany me into heavy combat.

I usually drag tali, and Ashley around for combat. What paths are you guys taking? I tried out the Pargon path. but I was getting crap rewards for everything, so I started over and I've leveled a lot quicker, recieved a lot more monies and it's just fun to threaten people all the time.

Wrex and Williams. After Wrex shotgunned fist in the gut that gave him a permanent spot in my party.

I'm absolutely loving the game. Not too far in yet - just been given command of the Normandy and trundled over to Feros to shoot up some Geth in a big temple-type place. Using the galaxy map is absolutely wonderful.

I'm still to get the last person in my squad (looks like an Asari from the silhouette), but usually bring Tali and Wrex along.

Second...

It does apparently run on UE3, so it should be as easy to port as Gears of War was.

The game is awesome so far, but i do have at least 6 titles all crying for my attention at the moment.
So it hasn't been getting the love it deserves.

Not going to pick it up either. I am holding out (and holding my thumbs too!) for a PC version.

I have read some critism about the game, mainly that the textures need a second or two to load and that the loading times can pop up at the most crucical times.

You know, I am a big PC gamer. I haven't touched a console game sense the Sega Genesis. But this game, and a few others, are really making me want to buy the Xbox Elite when I get my 40" widescreen LCD next month. I have watched the trailers on www.gametrailers.com and it just looks awesome. Exploration. FPS-like combat. RPG. Space. It just doesn't get much better than this.

This is, by far, my biggest complaint with the game. In complex situations, it can take a couple seconds for the textures to load, and then another for the realmapping to go to work. It's really jarring.

The rest of the game is awesome. It's been mostly ashley/tali

This loading of textures seems to be an endemic problem though. Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3. The big and fancy new engines all take a few seconds to add there spit shine.

Hardly cause for complaint. My gripe would be the ******* horrible UI but again it hardly breaks the game.
