7900 * 1.25 = 9875 PG available on the ship.
2200 * 0.9 * 4 = 7920 PG needed to fit 4 800mm tech 2 autocannons assuming advanced weapon upgrades level 5.
That leaves almost 2000 pg to fit your shield tank, I think it'll do just fine.

3575 * 0.9 * 4 = 12870 PG to fit 4 1400mm tech 2 howitzers, that's the real problem if it's to be used as a mission running ship or a general NPCing ship.

I have only looked at the amarr ships so far. Useless, uninspired and very disappointing. I am not surprised though as fendahl seems to be on of the leading heads again.

Sentinel:

With 3 small neuts it can be dangerous for battleships? In what world do you live please? Thats pathetic. TD's are already the weakest ewar (ok actually that award goes to TPS but long range frig webs are sweet) and now cap warfare with frigates. gosh. Only nice thing is the drone bay, but that doesn't help it much.

Devoter:

4 turrets. Broadswoard: 5 turrets + launcher. Sound balanced mhhhh. No seriously guys, kudos for removing a turre vs. the maller. I mean the devastating firepower on a maller plus a rof bonus? No, that would be overpowered so give it a rof bonus and take away a turret to make it useless again. Thats pure fun right here.

Redeemer:

Cloaked velocity, right. Because i'll certainly use a BlackOps for espionage and sneaking up instead of a cov ops.
Thats just uninspired. And then turret tracking? You really had no ideas at all? Why make fancy t2 ships that aren't fancy in any way?

Paladin:

Sucks. Just like the apoc. And thanks for making it clear that you will never redesign apoc. If you really planned on it why make a crappy t2 version beforehand? Repair Amount? Thats a gallente bonus wth does it do on my golden phallus? Tracking? Errm... yeah if you can't offer anything at all...
Apoc has so much dmg already a 5% dmg instead of tracking would have made it soooo overpowered, no we just cant do that. Lol, seriously who but some empire mission runners who don't know that abaddon exists will ever pay money for this joke of a ship?

Sentinel and Redeemer are the only halfway usable ships. But they aren't worth the hype. I doubt we'll ever see much black ops in combat action especially with sweet bonuses like agility and such. No, really thats a pity. And the amarr ships are as always special-gimped as 2 of them stem from the worst t1 amarr ships in existence: maller & apoc.

And don't tell me to be constructive unless you come up with something constructive. (i.e. not gimped ships)

With AWU5, Eng 5 and 4 fitted 800mm AC II the Vargur has 1955mw PG left. A XL-SB2 and 100mn MWD II later, that leaves 30mw PG.

While not as plenty as a Maelstrom, there are a select few fittings that seem possible.

A fair compromise for not allowing BlackOps to fit CoviCloaks (i still hate the idear of not fitting it and giving the ship a penalty for using the module like 50% slower warp speed + somthing)...anyway as i sayed a fair compromise might be to give the BlackOps ships an agility bonus on top of there cloaking speed bonus, this would allow them to appear more stealthy while bieng cloake.
Eccept for landing smag in the middle of a bouble an agility boost would save this ship as for getting away you can just:
Arrow Cloak
Arrow Allign to a SP or selesteral object
Arrow Go to max velocety
Arrow Uncloak (instant warp)

But thats just an idear...anyway...i think people whine way to much...think of it as a first draft of the ships and give the devs a little credit for trying. Its hard to please 100k people at the same time (that was ment in a non Huston 500 kind of way).

Anyway the way i see it dev team (CCP) you have got a couple of challenges here:
Arrow Allow BlackOps ships to appear more stealthy (blackops like) to let people protect the +1bill investement its going to be flying this ship, with out overpowering it to much.
Arrow Allow Marauders to appear more as the properly wore ment to, "a one man army" non capital so you dont need support. Give this ships some kind of a abbility to favor there huege firepower in a way such that the normal EW counter meshurs dont make this ships obselete before they are even launched.
Arrow Frigate size recons....personally i think its a nice tutch to the game lets see how they preform before passing to much judgement on them.
Arrow HeavyDictors (well im not much of a dictor pilote) but as the nice guy from Tri(DOOM) pointed out earlier on sovival rate for a heavy dictor seems even wors with the current setup (as i sayed i havnt flown them so i wouldnt know) but they do have a huege bulls eye painted on there forhead Twisted Evil so give them a run for there money. People will need some sort of lasting way this ship wore to operate cause a 20km max range to target really gimps your sourvival rate. And i dont think a huege tank is going to do it. Somthing very positive to say about this ships though im crasy about the active "warp disruption field module", puts a nice edge on things and ohh yes "you dont run out of boubles any more".

No, that has to be intentional. Its the only EW frigate that has a bonus to highslot modules. So you won't be equipping guns, you'll have to get your damage elsewhere.

1 Repair with the extra resit and repair bonus (that it seems you missed) is almsot as good as 2 LAR II.

And I think you can squeeze 2 Faction LAR there.

Dont think anyone will use these ships with anything under faction.

CCP disappointed me a lot!

New ships and old skins! Boring! :-( New ships should have new appearance! Thus new ship's ability will no give happiness and fun for me. I don't want it to have at all. ;-(((

P.S. Acpecially - Pink Thorax!? OMG! WTF! Whom it is designed for? For blonds? Stupidity!

If it will really happen I will defenetely stop playing EVE.

These aren't new ships, they're old ships improved to do specific tasks better.

Ok after letting the new ships sink in;

EW Frigates

Sentinel is crap it even drains less cap then the pilgrim which already doesn't destroy enough cap to be usefull go redesign Amarr EW, having a full fleet of them would be nice to disable 1 ship but then again bring a fleet and you can down any BS anyways.

Kitsune, probably the second worst EW frig. Yes it's ew can shut down a ship but quite frankly on frigs you want something like damps far more then ECM. Not to mention it lacks a second ew form.

Keres, tied with the hyena. Tech2 resistances and capable of scrambling from range thus capable of locking down something faster then an intie in a lot of cases.

Hyena, tied with the keres. tech2 resistances web range and highest speed. Lacks 1 mid and an uber second EW bonus like damps.

Heavy Interdictors

Not enough information as of yet in my opinion. But quite frankly the one that will tank best will be the best. Most likely candidate would be devoter or broadsword due to better innate t2 resistances then caldari/gallente.

Black Ops

/care, sorry but they don't impress me at all, they look like glorified bombers since they can't use cov ops cloaks and we all know how much those suck :S. Looking at the stats the panther will be best.

Marauders

Kronos, by far the most powerful one in PvP. Dual web while actually fighting in webrange. Highest DPS.

I don't understand why a PvE ship is blaster based though, noone in their right minds uses a blaster megathron in missions or ratting since it takes far to long to actually get to the targets. If this was a PvE ship it should have had more long range bonusses.

Vargur, second best the old tempest bonusses rof+dmg but instead of having less turrets as for example the apoc it now has the same ammount of turrets as the others hence more pwnage.

Golem, I'm not sure why any PvE minded player would pick this ship over the caldari navy raven. But still it's an improvement over the normal t1 battleships at least.

Paladin, WHY would anyone fly a paladin? Honestly? An abbadon can tank level4's just as well while having more DPS and thus finishing missions faster. HELLO?! Also the apoc had 8 turrets which was the most of all tier2 battleships in contrast it didn't have damage bonuses thus the total DPS of the apoc was lacking already. Now all the marauders got 4 weapon points but amarr are still left with their totally crap bonuses. PLEASE start to properly revamp lasers so amarr players don't need to have ships with -10% cap useage for lasers anymore but can have proper tank or DPS bonuses instead.

conclusion

Just as with most ship types/roles gallente/minmatar are the top dawgs and caldari and amarr are AGAIN left with a useless bunch of ships. Quite frankly if these ships hit TQ in their current state I can't conclude otherwise that CCP's balancing department needs to stop smoking so much weed (or perhaps start smoking it if it improves their quality).

You can argue it will be useful if you had 5 of them in gang. But if those 5 would be flying something else you wouldn't need to drain it's cap after a gazillion cycles it would be dead instead of being capless.

FINALLY! Amarr get some love. I haven't been this excited about being amarr since I started playing. These new ships make me proud to have stayed true to the amarr ships as my primary focus.

The majority of mission runners are Caldari trained and will not change to the Golem.
Firing 4 missiles of which 2, 3 or even all 4 will be shot down by defender missiles makes for less DPS than a BC (probably even less than a Caracal).



I believe that each time you fire a missile at the npc, the npc has a fixed chane of launching a defender. So the decrease of dps due to npc defenders shouldn't change.

What you missed.. all that faction gear on a ship u can kill with a few command ships seems really worth it dosn't it... ohh wait... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. its only UBERSOLOPWN if u spend more isk than anyone should on the ship. blaster fit it will be fun but not solopwn. it will do well and a large t2 repper with a 37.5% bonus only repps 1100.

I was also blowing the quoted fit to pieces as it can't fit the dual reppers let alone energy neuts

Hehe what i expected has come true, 100% bonus to weapons, making the 4 launchers on the golem do as much damage as 8.

If these figures remain, i might consider switching missionrunning ships afterall, or atleast give the golem a try and see if i can get used to flying a BS again... been a while Very Happy

and here i was really looking forward to some cool new ships to fly with my choosen race with high hopes that "amarr need oomph" was not just a well thought out lie to get me to waste more time training lasers. good thing i cross trained gallente as well. can i switch my amarr ship and laser skills to gallente ships please? it seems as though we're never going to get the "oomph" esspecially if these new t2 ships don't show it.

That ship will cost about 1 bil each. Spending a few hundred more on faction stuff wont be the end of the world. Its like fitting gisti stuff ina vaga.

1 repper fits.. and all the ship got for Tech II resistance bonus: 25% kinetic, 12.5% thermal. so if ur going to leave it untanked fit an RCU 3 FACTION dmg mods... Btw those cost money and don't fall off trees ur gonna be tankless. yes u can rep TONS.. but you have no Resists, You've just found a way blow up one of the most expensive ships in eve that dosn't currently exsist Congrats.

1 Repair with the extra resit and repair bonus (that it seems you missed) is almsot as good as 2 LAR II.

And I think you can squeeze 2 Faction LAR there.

Dont think anyone will use these ships with anything under faction.


What you missed.. all that faction gear on a ship u can kill with a few command ships seems really worth it dosn't it... ohh wait... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. its only UBERSOLOPWN if u spend more isk than anyone should on the ship. blaster fit it will be fun but not solopwn. it will do well and a large t2 repper with a 37.5% bonus only repps 1100.

I was also blowing the quoted fit to pieces as it can't fit the dual reppers let alone energy neuts


That ship will cost about 1 bil each. Spending a few hundred more on faction stuff wont be the end of the world. Its like fitting gisti stuff ina vaga.

Well while the paladin is not GREAT, it can fit 4 tachyons. Along with the 25% damage extra you have a ship that outdoes the abbadon on sniping (since it does not have the orrendous cap problems and a nice track bonus). What I dont get is the web bonuson a ship that is to be used MID range or long range.


CCP should change that bonus, or into teh traditional cap usage bonus (so this ship will at least be uber on capacitor) or anything else, really. Even target painter would help more.

Ok, now we know that CCP is never intending on fixing Amarr, I want my skill points back please so I can put them somewhere else. Stupid Cap to laser bonuses all over again. Man, this just ****es me off. Just delete the Amarr race already if this is all you can come up with.

Unfortunately the dps in missions will decrease . . . A LOT.
"Behind the scenes" the marauder was advertised as a mission runner wet-dream . .oh, and it can do some pvp too they said.
As for the mission running, just take a look on the proposed torp changes on Sisi. Problem is that with max skills the range will suck, barely some 30km. Javelins don`t go much farther either. Less torps means more targets for the defenders and very likely more torps blowing up (takes a few defenders even from the NPC`s, thou it seems 2 will do)
So . . what will you do in a typical mission scenario where all those lovely Guristas BS keep more than 45 km away from you . . Yeah, hit the MWD . . OH WAIT ! MWD doesn`t work in missions. So you are kinda screwed with torps and therefore you might say" Let`s try the cruise missiles !"

So you fit cruise launchers, which is a very bad ideea aince 1 NPC defender pretty much pops a cruise missile. And again, fewer missiles, translates into more defenders/missile - so more cruise being blown up.

So I`d say yeah, the mission damage is pretty much *****ed.

I did expect to see the same progression in ship "quality" I`ve seen so far , i.e. t1<faction<t2. Sadly, this isn`t the case . Almost none of the t2 BS outdamage the faction counterparts. And I think they should or at least be on par with them.
Can`t say much about the other races (except Caldari) since I don`t fly other race`s ships very often (I do fly Caldari and Galente ones only, up to BS level) so I`ll let someone else more experienced to rant about them.
Perhaps damage-wise they are handicapped for fear of creating a solopwnmobile . .. which isn`t the case because that would mean the current faction ships would be solopwnmobiles . .. and they are not. Well, the Caldari one ain`t Laughing
But speaking of the Golem, I would however love to see a +5% ROF instead that +10% explosion velocity bonus. Will put the Golem barely over the CNR (in damage dealt) while the low sensor strenght will cripple it a lot. Especially since there are only 4 low slots available (backup sensor) and thou an extra midd slot is present will most likely be used to tank by most users.
