BRUCE is the future of Eve. Laugh all you want now, but you will see for yourself soon.

In one years time, I firmly expect the remnants of BoB to ally with BRUCE, form a coalition with Triumvirate, and finally destroy Goonswarm forever. Thus, the circle of life.

Now that requires at tinfoil hat. People say it all the time, but this is TFH all the way baby!!

Im not going to comment much on the OSS - Bruce war, but from my personal experience OSS destroyed itself from within before Bruce attacked.

As to the status of JQV, we do have alot of Bruce down here...

Fighting them is ok, but most of the time I find myself outnumbered by a factor of 5 or 10.
However, what I really dislike is that some have a tendency to smack.
Personally I think that is just the carebears, in general the ones that put up a good fight dont smack, and I appreciate that.

Yeah BRUCE does seem to have a trouble with being honest about their dishonesty. Not sure why they go through the motions tbh, since no one but the rp corps down in providenceville care about that sort of thing. I think they it's mostly to keep their own members in the dark.

Quote:
Given our comparative size our aims from this are by necessity, modest at best.
Don't sell yourselves short, small organizations can be extremely effective against BRUCE blobs, just be smart about when and where to engage and you'll be fine. Our alliance of approx 50 members and perhaps half a dozen friends (mostly OSS pilots) stands alone vs the 2300+ man bruce coalition and we usually end up having to go to solitude or down the jqv pipe to find things to shoot at.

No offense intended by this but, well BRUCE has relied on numbers for so long that it's become a crutch for them, (and a few notable exceptions aside) their member's pvp experience is derived solely from zerg encounters with massively overwhelming numbers. In smaller engagements with say, only 2:1 odds in their favor they seem to freeze or panic in combat, resulting in some lopsided defeats in skirmishes with small gangs. Unfortunately it seems that they're aware of this weakness and nowadays rarely move in smaller-than-fleet sized gangs. They refuse to come visit us in the TA constellation with less than 35 man fleets for example, though it's usually 60+.

Another point to keep in mind is, due to their sheer size, it takes them a while to organize and respond to threats and cries for help, allowing you the opportunity to finish off and pod whoever you were killing, though once you see reinforcements enter system you should gtfo, expect 30-90+ more to follow suit immediately after.

Best of luck to you and your corp, maybe we'll see each other in space soon, one way or another :)

Thx for that mate. What I was trying to get at is that we're not some minnow corp carrying on and bragging about how we intend to bring a top 10 (by numbers) alliance down. It would be nice to meet some more of their small gangs though - they seem pretty hard to come by. And before you Bruce guys get all indignant - that's not a flame - merely an observation. We've met a few of you and they seemed to be pretty good guys and no smack.

Correct.

Alone isn't too bad, it just means we don't bother trying to engage the 50-100 ship blobs. At least when we had allies like the OSS 10 jumps away, there was a chance to fight such a blob.

Now, it is mostly skirmish warfare. We pick our fights, and run nano-raids on the BRUCE strongholds. Oh, and Camp 6-C. Always camp 6-C.

Still fun though :-)

I dunno about that, they've been known to kill a mothership or two (wrong mom though, ahem BRUCE's Aeon is over there -->)

much respect to HF 0/, we're neutral to them but recognize the valuable duty they perform as the gatekeepers to Verge much like we do for solitude.

Huzzah can be a pretty fun group to encounter, and they certainly make me take notice. I wouldn't underestimate them. NOTR has also been bloodying noses lately. And then there are the memorable incursions of Outbreak and MDK. ExM and TNERA haven't been shy either. I appreciate the pew pew, guys. I don't know if I'd be half as interested in this game without it. Smile

Well now, that all depends. Are we talking "You're special, nifty-keen neato, here's a gold sticker" or are we talking "Now now, Johnny, don't eat the paste again or we'll have to put the tight white canvas sweater back on you" special?

Come to think of it, no matter what the answer, I'm still not sure which I prefer. Shocked

Definitely the second one Very Happy

This is just my view, but I've always seen BRUCE as a roleplaying alliance. We may not talk about ourselves in the third person in Alliance chat or whatever - but read our alliance description: we're cowboys in Syndicate, the Wild West. And that's fun!

Our main problem is enthusiasm. In my experience, gangs that were intended to be quick raids tend to end up turning into larger blobs due to the fact that everyone wants to join in. That puts a lot of people off fighting us. I guess there's just too many cowboys in this town Smile

No one said we purely rely on nano gangs, they're just another tool, like shield tanks, armour tanks, remote repping or any other legitimate tactic and/or setup that you care to mention or can think of.

The fact that you can get very large gangs assembled and organised very quickly is something to be proud of, and says a lot about your alliance.

Oy now. The folks over at Huzzah have a lot of things not going right - low motivation, no clear central leader, little/no organization outside of "Hey, let's go pew pew" and more vulnerability to spies than Italian diplomats at a Las Vegas brothel, not that they are useful for much beyond flash-raid warnings - but the one thing I *will* stick up for them about is the variety in their tactics.

Yes, they do use the nano-gang. I've also seen them pull the snipey bit, come slogging in with battleships and a dictor, banzai-fleet some cheap cruisers, and I bet they'd even pull out capitals for the right occasion. (Oh, wait - they did.)

Huzzah and BRUCE have the pew pew going on and BRUCE learned a lot from them once upon a time, but whether or not some on each side have bad blood, I'll stick up for their tactics. Huzzah is adaptable, enduring and inventive - which makes them superior in that respect to any other enemy BRUCE has faced in South Syndicate. Only Huzzah has bounced back again and again.

Respect given. Cool

Probably as fair an assessment as we're likely to get, if a little partisan in places.

On our side of the fence, we've marked a noted improvement in BRUCE over the (now many) months we've known them and sparred with them in Syndicate. For the most part, they have grown to become a foe that we respect and relish being challenged by. BRUCE have proven to be the catalyst for us to constantly think and rethink our tactics, and for that, we thank them. Yes, they have a tendency to fly in large gangs, but, to be fair, they are a large (10th in the rankings as I write) alliance and that goes with the territory.

Fried, one thing about your assessment of us that appears to be coloured by your own personal judgement is that we enjoy ourselves in Syndicate. We don't have any lofty goals, unlike yourselves. We did that a long time ago and that is now over and done with. We only exist as an entity in order to have fun doing what we love to do and agreed, to a third party that may well sometimes appear to be chaotic. We don't have a formal figurehead of a leader (although I can think of one person who effectively fills that role - he knows who he is), we don't have much of a plan, hell, we don't have a university course for fleet commanders, but that's because we don't need any of those things.

As to any "bad blood" you'll find none here, far from it, without BRUCE our lives in the region would be alot less interesting. Some things do get said in the heat of the moment, and on both sides, but that's to be expected as I'm sure you understand.

Vive la difference is what I say and I'm sure our interesting times will continue as long as we share Syndicate.
