I think it is geting rediculus with all this secure cans in empire. WE need a way to get rid of them as they caus lotsa lagg when warping in to a belt.

My sudgestions is that in empire cans shoud despwan or something or have a dame fee on them if they are ancord that you have to pay for every 24 houer it is ancord in space.

Im open for other sudgestions to that are better then my.

Rich people love to pay fees...usualy EVE fees are reaaly cheap...miners wouldn´t have a problem paying it.

well the fee was just a ide. you have any other ides then that might work. maby if secure can havent been used for say 24 houers it will be destroyed by concord refering to it as a dangerus floating debri maby .

cans should simply decay over time if not refreshed by opening them.

The decay could mean they unanchor and can be dragged away (profit)

Or simply they fall apart like jetcans.

personally i dont think it would work cos it will be more strain on the servers which seem to be already at their limit.

Although i would love for ccp 2 think of some way of getting rid of the old inactive 1s that no1 uses. Cos its tottally impossible for us newer miners to get 1 placed in some systems eg piekura

Hmmm i wonder if the cans of old deleted characters r removed or r alot of these cans owned by now non existent characters?

Hello all,

Currently, the best idea I've seen is to have the anchored cans require energy in a battery. That energy is refreshed whenever a can is accessed, the energy is refreshed.

The battery holds 30 days of charge. After 30 days, the can becomes unanchored and free game.

Note that the password still works on the unanchored can, so that allows players to ransom the can back to the owner. If the owner isn't available (no longer plays, etc), you can use the Hacking skill on the can after another 30 days.

People will not bother they will just take to station and repackage, all contence is dumped onthe hanger and the can no longer has a password.

I am just quoting myself, every time I see a thread about the Secure Can mess....

Originally by: Jinx Barker

Make Secure Containers anchored around celestial objects/same grid as: Belts, Stations, Gates, deteriorate over time. Each 7-10 days, if the container is not opened then it looses 25% of its HP. At the end of the month, if the can was not opened, it explodes.

This way we keep all our Ammo Caches strewn around the 0.0 and low sec and all the eyesores, however, are quietly disposed of. Those who mine on regular basis will upkeep their cans by using them and the superfluous cans will be gone within a month or so.
