He4re's my (possibly silly idea):

Hire one or two science fiction writers of the 'hard science' variety (i.e. Matching the EVE Online sci-fi theme) to come up with new ideas and features that can be included without unbalancing gameplay.

My choices would be writers like Charles Stross, Alastair Reynolds, and Iain M Banks in descending order of perceived quality.

All of those writers have very good ideas that could be adapted into EVE Online to provide flavour, excitement, and 'cool'.

I'd like to hear other peoples suggestions too!

Could you be a bit more specific on the ideas they have?

To be honest, I don't believe it's needed. I bet CCP has plenty of good (and bad) ideas Smile

I'd say that 75% of the people in the office are into hard core Sci-fi, so there's no worry about finding the ideas. It's more a case of finding ideas that fit with what we want to do with the game.

You should see some of the things that we throw around the office for the awesomeness of it being in the game!

I woud not give the eve word into the hands of professional sience fiction writers.

95 % of the eve players are hardcore sifi s too Very Happy So they also bring in many many good ideas.
I personal think: " using the eve-community for ideas which push up the game , is more worth then, Sience fiction writers which lives in there own world, and reflect there minds into it, without knowing, what world eve is, and could be.

Sure then can be advised in something, but at least they bring in there own worldŽ.

i dont wanna make the comment " MMMHCOOLSTUFF"

my 2 cents
