No offense, no "rabble!", no complaint BUT....

When a dev says "Here we go again", it's time to panic Laughing
Well, my job is to get information to you guys, but I'm getting as tired of this as you guys do, the rest of CCP is getting tired of it, and we all want it fixed. All I can really say at this point is that we're working on getting it fixed.

I've been here.

Server performance ? crappy. Been freezing everytime the game tries to issue something that looks like a decent database query.

Here we go again, please check back for information as soon as we get it!

I'm starting a new thread so we don't get the last server crash confused with this one. Please check the old thread, update 4 gives you a bit of information on what's going on.

Try 4th time today, not to mention yesterday.
As soon as i get into the game - and i hope my Navy Mega which i just got is still intact, i'm gonna petition to have that mission removed so i don't lose standing by not doing it - it's the 3rd bloody time i've tried to finish it in 2d and each time you idiots in charge of ... whatever they are in charge of have screwed it up, and then i'm gonna take a break from EVE, untill you decide to get your heads out of the big dark hole you have stuck in and make this game playable.

Due to the latest failover we are now taking the opertunity to remove the effected hardware.

Our ETA is now for a startup of 22:00 and hopefully TQ will remain online after that.

EVE may have been up and down all day, but I've been getting a lot of mileage out of the forums since I'm at work.

Patch day is usually the most entertaining day. ;)

Seriously, though- keep up your efforts, the vast majority of users aren't going to whine like spoiled children. Unfortunately, the vast majority of FORUM users will. ;)

Good luck and here's hoping the next corrections take care of the problems!

Chribba,

your onto somthing here m8, the EVE server is attauly diffrent from the fourms, (ever noticed when they took eve down for the huge patch the fourms still worked???

Every time EVE has crashed so far (or toppled) the eve-o site is also effecvted (DNS resolving issue?) same for the fourms .. then they all come back..

might be a lag spike or timeouts bcos of the loss of connections.. but imho always the same thing.

CCP look into this... Restart eve.. wait for it to topple and try getting on your own site.. fourms when the connection tanks,

ood - maybe somthing to do with the API keys?

Quote:
We believe we have traced this issue to a failed controller card on our old RAMSAN that we attached a few days ago.

Our hardware profile has not changed much during the past 30 days other then adding the unit back into the SAN array.

Our other failovers that we have experienced since on the new SQL hardware was due to insufficient memory resources being assigned to the OS, that failover happened the day the new hardware was installed and was corrected, and another error was fixed by the installation of Service Pack 2 on the SQL server and the final one due to max degree of parallelism set too high and our query’s using too many processors at once leaving other requests too starve.

These failover problems we are now having are the ones we were having prior to the upgrade of the SQL hardware (same error codes and little evidence of errors in the logs).

Currently unfortunately we are running on the effected hardware but we have implemented steps to reduce the use of it by shifting all I/O's to the new RAMSAN, we will not be able to completely phase out the effected hardware until the next downtime and then we can switch too a different controller later on in the week on the unit and try and re-integrate it back into the cluster when we have ran a large battery of tests on it.

We are working to address these issues, we care very deeply about the stability of TQ.

To give you a brief recap on our database and the amazing things it does, with the increase in the player base and new features that have been rolled out via the API site and other tools we are at over 8,500 transactions a second, so you can see how trying to go back and go through all those transactions and data for the 1 transaction call that causes the server to initiate a failover can be a daunting task.

But we are fully confident that we can fix this issue in a timely manner. Please have patience with us.

We are throwing our full resources into this problem and feel as helpless as you do.

Our apologies.

Can we have some more rats in the belts during this big Beta test of this old game as a compensation for all the troble with disconnecting and drone losses and beta testing and so one please?

I am happy to see that u care and tel us what the real troble is :)

this may be abit too much common sense, but wouldn't the fact 25k of people are trying to access the same forums to find out the problem this time have an effect?

I am starting to get rather annoid now. I was just about to claim the mission reward again! Ready to get my 1500 lp (again). Second time i did this mission. One last thing todo before i claimed the mission reward. Get the overseers vault blown up and take his stash. The way i see it:

Today has been a day of 100 percent waste when it comes to eve, Call me when youve fixed the server please. im not gonna do that mission a third time.
I either want 4000 lp with the spacelane patrol or a day added to my account.

i seriusly wanna smash someones head in with a hammer now.
