At the moment I'd advise people to download a fresh full client if they're having issues with files in the /bin/ folder being corrupted. This appears to be limited to only Windows Vista users at the moment.

We're working on finding the cause for this though and hope to have something on it soon.

Just installed the patch to my wine .9.41 client and getting this exact same error on attempt to start eve.. Just an fyi.

Thank you, downloading a fresh client now... Looking forward to resetting and sorting out all my Overview, Hud, Addressbook, Bookmarks Rolling EyesLaughing

Your should not lose all your settings though, after Revelations 2 the cache folder was moved to \\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP

So when you do another fresh install the client will automatically use your old cache without creating a new one instead.

I see you removed the invention implants (Draftsman) from the LP store, is that just temporarily until they are fixed? If not what will happen to those of us that have them plugged in already?

Both the Draftsman series and the Consul series will be fixed in a future patch. Stay tuned for more information on what we're doing in the meantime.

Stay tuned where exactly?

And by "what we are doing in the meantime" do you mean in regard to these implants specifically or in more general terms about your area of game design?

Stay tuned to the usual official news channels for more information about these implants specifically.

As several people have pointed out, this is not limited to Vista.

So far corrupted /bin/ folders seem exclusive to Vista. Corrupted tut2 files in the patch itself are happening on all platforms.

I got corrupted files in the /bin/ (patching went fine, starting client gives errors) folders and I'm running XP mediacenter... Reinstalling did fix it though.

For those people having a problem with the client warning of modified, damaged or corrupt extra files in the /bin/ directory, the issue is that some old files have been cleaned out of our internal builds. However, anyone running the same client for a long time without a reinstall will still have those files available.

The list of the valid files for the /bin/ directory is below. Please remove any extra files you find in this directory. This should resolve your issues. If not, please file a bugreport including a crash dump, logserver file and dxdiag.

I got the corrupted message (winxp sp2) that spelled out the rtcres.dll, etc...

I just went in and deleted those two files and it came up just dandy after that.

Warp sound is nice and quiet now, but how do I turn down the star gate volume - it's far too loud compared to everything else? Audio will remain disabled...

That was the problem for the wine install. an extra manifest file in the /bin directory as well as the /bin/Micrsoft one.

This allows the wine client to start as long as audio is unchecked in the client. If it is checked via the escape key menu, it immediately ctd's.

I suspect it is bugged.

Theere seems to be duplicate audio. When jumping to warp you get that first sonic BOOM, halfway through it repeats. After jumping through a gate you get the decloaking sound even if you havent decloaked. Then you get it again once you actually decloak.
