My question is about capital ships. I was reading a chat where players were talking about capital ship nerf which apparently occured only recently. I went to read more about capital ships on these forums, but I didn't find much about this nerf or why they deserved it. Could anyone explain it to me please in more or less layman's terms? Thanks. Very Happy

Only nerf to capitals I can think of was the nerf to the so called "Supercapitals". The Motherships and Titans.

The Titan's primary weapon, the Doomsday Device was changed so that after its use the Titan is forced to sit still for 10 minutes, leaving it open to a counter-attack. I think there was another change that affected both of them as well but I can't remember what it was. Either way, since the nerf both types of ships have been considered far more vulnerable, and they have seen far less use but have died far more often.

There is much debate about whether the nerf was too harsh or not, though it is agreed a nerf was needed, because of the sheer expense of those ships (tens of billions).

Warp Disruption Fields and Interdictor Sphere will now prevent them from warping. They are still immune to warp scramblers. Previously there was no way to prevent a Titan/Mothership from warping/jumping away. Thus there was no practical way to kill them if the pilot was at the helm. (The first Titan kill was done while the pilot was logged of.) Currently there is still no way to prevent a Titan/Mothership from warping/jumping in low sec.
