Stop paying for the product if it's faulty...?

Oh, maybe you were posting that to show you care about Eve's future, because that is definitely a constructive criticism that will bring great change.

A banker in Austria who lost Billions to very shady deals is in court now.
The billions he lost affected quite a few people, politicians - many lifes so to speak.

His defense was that he "regrets that people only see the little percentage of his otherwise great decisions leading to the loss"

Up to today I thought this was the most stupid argument I have ever read.

That's strange, cause I just checked the subscription numbers, and apart from them increasing every month, this month had an even bigger increase than last month...

Edit: Fleet battle is broken and that sucks.
I ve been in only one - my single carrier against about 50 people.
One could literally see the node giving me time slices as in a round robin system.

I got a 50th out of the total time to operate the damn carrier I was in and the same damn 50th slice of time I had to operate my drones. Go figure how much real fun that was

Give me ONE SINGLE WORD in wrangler's statement that says CCP "cares so little about its veteran players." Yes its a sarcastic response that falls short on tact, blame a man for being human and working for a corporation at the same time. However it is in no way what you claim it to be UNLESS you construe it to appear so. Its amusing to see how people like you take simple factual words and turn them into negative motive just to turn around a ***** about it.

"cause I just checked the subscription numbers"
He implies it with this sentence and I am sorry if you cannot read between the lines.

Subscriptions suffer from some kind of inertia plus as long as they are not weighed they can only show so much of a distored picture.

One veteran leaving probably usually amounts to the need of getting 3 more subscribers.
Why ?
Because veterans are the living, breathing flesh in this game.
They shape this player run universe, mmkay ?

In addition pointing at subscription numbers of the past month does not mean a thing at all as it takes a long time until negative effects take hold so strongly that players outright quit, you need to take a big time scale into view and you need to weigh vet scubscriptions against new players, etc.

Its like saying - Everything is alright, the majority has elected the government while the whole of the state is going to ****.
Clear enough ?

By the by - this game is still and always has been advertising large space battles - those are simply not possible to do with a reasonable comfort of playing.

I didn't read between the lines because reading between the lines of a PR rep or "community manager" its pointless, I won't go into why because you've clearly lost yourself to conspiracy theory.

In that case reading the words at all would be pointless would it not?

'People aren't leaving because the subscription numbers are going up' does not logically work anyway. People are leaving. Others are joining. Those leaving are veterans, by default as they had to be here already to be leaving. Those joining are not veterans, by default as they just joined. If he only cares about the subscription number, then he doesn't give a crap about veterans.

He was commenting on the Eve is dieing part, which isn't true. Eve is still growing strong. His answer could have been a bit more tactical, but i guess this is because of all the whining on the forums and him being finally getting pretty annoyed by it. The DEVs know there are problems and they are working as hard as possible to solve them but all they hear from their players is whining about things not working and hearing they don't do their job well.

I do agree petitions of this size should get a higher prio and be solved quicker or at least they should give more info about it (e.g. seperate forum-item ?)

Personally, desyncs haven't happened since the post-2.0 patch (2.0.1 was it?). I was getting them all the time before that.

What I do notice is that in "fleet battles" where you jump through and aparently desync - IE you end up with a blank screen and overview - is client load. On my rig EVE tends to run one core at about 80% load, when jumping through a gate into a camp, the CPU load will hit 100% on one core. I've run EVE on a considerably quicker PC as a test (AMD X2 6000+ compared to my normal machine a Pentium D 945), and the speed at which EVE recovers after a jump into a blobbed gate is considerably reduced.

So, my suggestion is for those experiencing "desync" is to check the load on your PC's CPU, clear caches, or run off a RAM drive.

Man I WANT NEW SHINY stuff... its not like if the artists at CCP would be helpign to solve desync problems if they were not workin on art. Neither the client programmers, neither the content developers. In a system like eve is not unlikely that there are 3-4 guys that work on and understand the communication sysem between client and server, its not productive to have everyone working on everything.

You know that bit I said about CCP having horrible customer service? Employees are not allowed to get annoyed. Not in public anyway. Thats what the break-room, the bar and the dartboard are for.

edit: Though with the amount of **** they get (see the state of this board and the amount of locked threads right now.... (1106 eve time) I'm perfectly willing to forgive.

People don't want to just quit after putting in so many hours, days, weeks, months or years into their characters.

Desyncs may have always been around, but Rev 2.0 is where it all went wrong. You couldn't even have a 5 vs 5 battle. So out comes a patch to resolve this, seems like the small battles have improved again.

Now for massive fleet ops... before Rev 2.0, you'd lag out. OK it's expected, but since Rev 2.0, we get the lag and then the desync. You lag and can't right click to warp off, you desync and have to relog, only to find yourself in a station.

We've put in bug reports, petitions etc. Where does it get us? We get a copy and paste.

Client desyncing from the server - of course the server logs wont see this. The server still thinks the client is happily pew pew, when in fact the client hasn't seen a screen update for 30 minutes and relogs.

This thread is for the people who've experienced this and cheesed off with the damn copy and paste "sorry our logs show the game is brilliant". This isn't about us saying we're the leet coders and know you can fix it. It's about the whole picture and the lack of customer service, due to their server issues since Rev 2.0.

The graphics look nice, the game play is there... but the servers simply cannot handle fleet battles. It couldn't handle 5 vs 5 before (this is where my personal petitiion was refused!!!). So if you don't care about your gaming pleasure, keep out the thread, if you've had the same treatment as most of us, then by all means chip in and see the start of this thread.

I de-synced, lost my Ishkur (i loved that ishkur) next day i got it back.

im a happy chappy

with a game of this scope depth and complexity especially one that is pushing the boundries of mmorpg technology the odd bug/issue really isnt a problem

look at how many games on release are bug ridden unplayable messes and all they're doing is rehashing the same old stuff.

so in conclusion

What it doesn't mean, is that you can spam, should, and squeal all you want while throwing up some moronic "freedom of speech" banner.

Tell me your feelings wouldnt be different if you lost all that effort, to known issues, to only be told "Sorry, youre not getting it back because there is no issue"

Actually I'm pretty sure he's trying to say that EVE isn't dying because people are leaving. He never said "People aren't leaving". He never said "We don't care that the veterans are leaving". He only said that EVE isn't dying because some people are leaving.

And I'm going to go with the logical people here. EVE is a game like no other. There is nothing out there of the complexity of EVE in both gameplay and technology. CCP try their best to fix things in this game where they have to figure every tiny little thing out themselves with no help, and all anyone can do is kick them, spit on them, and tell them to work faster.
