Giving the benefit of the doubt here just wouldn't work (Even though everyone knows, including CCP, that there's a problem), then anyone who lost a ship could just hit F12, put "desync" somewhere in the text box and get their ship back, regardless if it was a legit kill or a real problem.
Why would you think so?
If the policy changes from "I can't see squat in my logs" to "if I prove that you're trying to abuse the petition I'll ban you for 1week at least", things might be a whole lot better and the petition queue much much shorter.Razz

That's because I realy believe that with their "investigative tools" they can at least make very good, educated guesses about what realy transpired.

Ok i can understand that. And it's also clear to me why CCP can't just trust everyone that lost a ship to "lag" or "desync" but if the server sends you two kill mails for one and the same ship (with many minutes inbetween) then there should be logs for that or not? the ship destruction must have registered with the server in order to send you a kill mail so there must at least be evidence that two seperate kill mails were sent for one and the same ship (since i'm guessing every item has some form of unique ID so you'de have to see two kills for one ID or not?)

If you're not leaving anything out, your situation makes it pretty obvious that some GM's are not investigating the situations at all. If they can't be arsed to read two killmails and check the id's of the ships involved, I wonder what other obvious, and presumably easy to look up when you have GM tools, information they're ignoring to keep the queues moving.

Fix the game before you add anything new. Hint: Adding more hardware won't help.

What frustrates me is that CCP can't "log" this bug so therefore can't give reimbursements. I have a hard time swallowing a loss when I never received the chance to defend myself due to a bug (desynch) in the software.

Don't worry. When EVE finishes dying a horribly slow death, at least we'll have CCP's World of Darkness MMO to play!

had my 1st desynch roughly a month before RevII , lost a t2 apoc , full set of +4 imps ,dmg imps and warfare mindlink outside a station even though my client showed me still at the pos

If the dock function wasn't bugged it might have even docked as commanded while still showing me at the pos

was in a gang of 30 with 60 in local and had warped to a gate from a pos when reports of still being in warp, strange lag etc came through on TS , warped back to the pos thought my client was ok so i hit dock as station was clear but got no response , so dosnt have to be big fleets that causes the desynch.

the copy and paste reply i got from GM made me wanna smash my console, maybe because i keep thinking im a paying customer with consumer rights etc

Your game is broken, and people are leaving. Your customer service is lacking, and it will be the downfall of this game.

That's strange, cause I just checked the subscription numbers, and apart from them increasing every month, this month had an even bigger increase than last month...

Stop bragging and fix the ****ing game or I WILL quit!

Question is - will they even begin to feel it in time, with all the new subscribers pouring in ?

Mythic Entertainment had this same arrogant optimism once upon a time. They thought that they could continue to implement changes without listening to their playerbase and thought that the success of their advertising campaigns meant that the players liked the way they did things. The more they 'tinkered' with the game, ignored blatant bugs, made sweeping, unpopular changes and swung the nerfbat because they thought they knew what the players wanted, the more the playerbase got fed up. In a period of about 6 months, their new subscriptions dried up and their playerbase numbers dropped like a rock and never came back.

DAOC is now but a shadow of what it once one because of arrogant optimism just like this. Players will tolerate a badly operating MMO for only so long.

Continue to think that you can brush the problems the OP adressed aside, continue to think that you can point to subscription numbers as a justification for adding new things and not fixing what's broken, continue to think that your MMO is unsinkable Capt. Smith. and that iceberg is going to smack right into your wallet.

I played DAOC for 3 and a half yrs and I canceled 3 accounts for that exact reason. spent days working on a trial to get to the end with 100 other people to have it lock and their responses was sorry cant help ya cant prove you did the steps so your gona have to start over. I canceled that week.

This game isnt far behind for me. Loseing isk from lagged out ships is one thing. after loseing 18 days of skill points to a lost pod because I was unable to warp, dock or anything else has made me rethink. Seriously I am paying $30 a month to bust my behind ratting/missioning/mining to make isk to buy ships. These ships are not intended to die they are intended to PLAY the game. If I die playing then I'm fine with that. If I die because of a bug REPEATIDLY then I have an issue with it.

Now I've lost time. That cant be made back EVER. yes I can reskill the 18 days which would take 18 days so I will forever be short 18 days. Lost time is unexcusable. Yes I made a mistake I didn't have my clone at a medicle so I had to move a pod without a clone to another station. thats no excuse for lag to cost me the time.

The problem is CCP sees the people leaving and the people joining. the average life span of a MMO is about 3 yrs so eve is on borrowed time as it is. So when a member like myself leaves after 2+ yrs its conciderd "expected" and they assume the new accounts will pick up the slack. That mind set killed Daoc. It was dead within a month of my departure so thats proof I stick it out till the end. Wake up CCP....your vision will be an empty one if you keep this up. And no I'm not threatning to quit, if I decide to quit there wont be a point in threats. It will be to late.

While I don't see myself quitting the game I do play less because of this issue and a few others. I guess in a way that is better for CCP because they get my $$$ and little play time out of me. I very rarely fly my highend ships anymore because I have lost to many to desync. Two weeks ago lost two rigged Arazu's in a three day period due to desync and received the auto response "sorry, nothing in logs to indicate a problem. The most frequent time I notice desync is in my Recon or Covops ships. Jumping through gates cloaked, never coming out of cloak when aligning and warping after a jump, fly around fully visible while the cloak is green and running, etc. I am convinced there are devs who don't even look into the problem. I have had a few petitions get denied, I responded back with an arguement, and then a different Dev responds back with full reimbursement and an apology that there was indeed a problem discovered.

So then I suggest you:

a.) Stay on Vacation

b.) Keep your whining to yourself

c.) Post in one of the other 36 threads created in that week. Perhaps one that actually has some constructive overtones rather than "**** CCP and fix desyncs NOW"

d.) Monday is my favorite time of year

I'm gonna tell you what I really think I like about Mondays
Cause they feel like Saturdays
When you don't gotto go to work
Every day is a holiday
I wake up when I want to
I do anything I wanna do
Can't wait for Tuesday

ER - necro ?

C'mon, one week is hardly a necro.

Though - the way you jump young, fresh, new threads I guess one day marks them as withered and unusable to you.

IOI

Edit: To add something more meaningful to this thread - I think CCP have started allocating some resources to address this issue.

I certainly hope they hurry up with it

It's a massive whine thread, resurrecting it will only cause more whiney angst. There's also a sticky in this forum about the same issue, so it's redundant anyway.

That and I'm not longer attracted to threads once they hit puberty.

SIGNED!!!!

Legally im sure they should have the tools to proof without a doubt who is in the wrong.

its there choice not to use the tools that can help in these matters athough they say if they did it will increase lag as it will need more reports.

If you say to your players pettition losses then you should at least have a means where the pettition and its problem can be looked at and not just put in the out tray.

we all pay for a service and our subscription is like any other contract. both partys are binding to this. Player under contract pays money for a service. therfore the service should be there and as advertised. if not the contract is suspended or broken and then refunded or you dont pay until its fixed.

That is the way it is and who every other normal business operates. When you buy somthing you expect it to work else you want your money back. each country has laws safeguarding each party on this matter and i should think that there will be something in those laws that could be looked into so that we get what we paid for.

this is a commodity and a service like everything else.

We players are going through undue and unessacery stress and i have seen lawsuits brought on by much less.
