Hellooooo folks, been a long time since I last posted about my tattoo project, but then again RL has once again been rearing it's ugly head and causing delays and untold session cacellations. But hey ho, I've restarted the sessions and had the first in 4 months last Friday. For those of you who haven't got a clue what I'm on about, you need to head over to my blog at EVE-Ink and read through the entire, what is now a 16 month old story from the beginning back in March 2006. Look forward ot your comments, or of course the flames that normally ensue from some of our less forum savvy of folks. But please keep 'Personal Attacks' to yourself.. Enjoy |

Oooh, looks nice :) The tv show you mentioned is usually about celebrity's and consists of multiple short news tidbits that are aired after another for maybe 10 minutes every day... If you check that page http://www.sat1.de/ratgeber_magazine/blitz/videoplayer/every now and then you might turn up there maybe a week after it was shown on tv. (if they put every show up there... I am not sure) |

kudos to you for taking Eve to a new level of personal dedication. One observation: the Gallente chick looks like she's holding a *snip* Please do not by pass the profanity filter - Kreul Intentions I'm guessing it hasn't been coloured yet? cheers edit: I didn't see it's a mole. HOLY MOLE, BATMAN! But, what's with the lines leading up to it?... best to have the mole covered, just so it doesn't look like a dink... oh, and that Amarr chick really needs a better skin tone... her liver failed long ago, apparently. |

I've commented in the past re; your tattoo project and I'll comment again. Horrible horrible line work, and in some places the colouring is just sloppy. You're paying hundreds of dollars for amateur work, whoever is doing this tat is basically using your skin as a learning canvas! You will be kicking yourself in a few years down the road and I know you won't agree with me on this as you're so invested in this already. TBH, you should have stopped with the Caldari one. There is another guy that has shared his EvE tat with the community, the black Guristas bunny. That tattoo is ten times better than what you've done with your back. Seriously, wait a few more years, I hear the laser technology for removing body art is getting better and better. |

Hmmm I find that a couple of the above comments are very odd. I suppose everyone's entitled to their opinion however I believe that it's a great tattoo thus far.
HostageTaker: I don't see any bad line work, and I'm not sure how you can call the work of Louis Malloy, who is one of the most highly regarded tattoo artist in the UK, anything less than spectacular. I also don't know how you can compare a solid color 3" Guristas tattoo with a full back tattoo that's in full color.
Anyways I just recently got my first tattoo. It's the Chinese symbol of Love on my upper left shoulder blade. I love it!
Thanks for the update Skarsnik! I hope to see you on YouTube with that TV thing and can't wait for the August update.

Question for the "you will regret this" folks: Would you say the same if it was just a huge tribal? Or in other words: Do you say that because its art from a computer game or do you shun large tattoos in general? |

QFT. Tbh although it's larger that I'd ever have done, it looks kick ass already and you can't really judge it until it's finshed. I'm feeling the urge to get a Gurista Bunny Skull Tattoed somewhere to be honest. |

While tattoos can be pretty personal things, I feel that often, and (I think in this particular case) they are marketed as artwork and thus up for public critique IMHO. Considering that, I'm really not impressed at all. Granted, I'm not tattoo fan in general, but I concur with the comments that the linework looks sloppy as well. I'm sure that it's far more difficult to draw on skin than paper, but it's still a pretty rough, amateur-looking translation of the original image. I'm am sorry to rain on everyone's parade though |

Firstly, thanks all for the replies. As always my tattoo threads seem to cause some small amount of controversy and debate, and everyone is of course entitled to an opinion, in fact I welcome all kinds of opinions. At the end of the day though the only persons opinion that has the most merit and weight is my own. I'll of course answer some of the questions that have been raised in the thread in a vain hope people will actually read them. Originally by: Mr Friendly

Unfortunatly, my back has a few moles, and even more unfortunatly you cannot tattoo over moles due to the increased risk of skin cancer. Theres also an issue fo the colour holding properly. If you ever go to a tattooist that says he will tattoo over moles, stretch marks, or scars avoid them like the plague. Originally by: Southern Paladin nice dood. are you going to fill in the ink work of the ladies or have space between?
It's going to be filled in. There will be no space left in-between. Of course I haven't reached to the stage yet. Originally by: Mamarto I believe I speak for only myself when I say, EVE tattoos are worthless without the Guristas skull-bunny.
I'll answer this with a quote from Wranglipoo, and Verone... Originally by: CCP Wrangler

I dont consider Louis' work to be of any substandard work what-so-ever. Considering he's been tattooing for 18years and has numerous awards, accolades and is currently filming the Discovery Channels answer to Miami Ink - London-Ink. I would take it as read that you have never followed up on who was doing the work in the first place, or even researched about hi before you call hi an 'Amateur'. As has been said though, everyone is entitled to his/hers/it's own opinion. Originally by: Nate D Hmmm I find that a couple of the above comments are very odd. I regret nothing I've ever done in life. I aim to challenge myself all the way through my life to experience as many things as possible no matter the cost/outcome just so I can say when I lay dying that 'I've done it, and everything else I ever wanted' - seems like a reasonable thing to want to do. |

I personally love the Minnie char the best myself. As for pirate content. It's a possiblility. I've already reserved more time with Louis into 2008 and I'll removing an older Silohette tattoo from my right shoulder in the hope of extending out and up from the Minnie char. Watch this space. |
