CCP: You want answers?
Annoying Customer: I think I'm entitled to them.
CCP: You want answers?
Annoying Customer: I want the truth!
CCP: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a universe that has servers. And those servers have to be started by men with hamsters. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Annoying Customer? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for your lost Skillpoints and you curse the CCP. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that this outage, while tragic, probably allowed some hamsters to catch a breather. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, allows our hamsters to have a break...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me to keep on feeding that hamster. You need me to feed that hamster.
We use words like servers, unexpected, problems...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent dodging the real issue. You use 'em as an excuse. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very game I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get your own )(*[email protected]!) hamster and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

I was bored, what can I say....

I *DEMAND* Webcams to be installed in those Serverrooms so everyone can see if all the hamsters are running smoothly and are still ok!

Heart rate and oxygen level monitoring should be mandatory in these days, why oh why are there *no* intentions to fix this with the next patch(tm) ?

No sh*t, i'd really like to watch those chronically overpaid and insomnic programmers squirm to get the server up again Twisted Evil

Honestly, give those guys a break (obviously the server took one of those, too) and let's hope servers go up some time this...hmmmm...day would be cool Shocked

according to necro they are all black hamsters and decided to take a break, then went to the toilet, then another break

Why do I get the feeling that the programmers are poor pale ppl that havent seen the light of day since EVE went live, hacking away at their keyboards like ppl in the movies do (even when they dont need to type to do what they are doing) and when they press the wrong key, the server goes down and the Overmaster breaks out the whip to "encourage" them to work faster

Folks, please be civil to each other. Regardless of your opinions about the current situation, CCP, ISD, or my ancestry, let's keep this thread flame free.

Me, I lost connection just after jumping in 0.0 in a very expensive covops, so I can certainly sympathise with everyone concerned about the situation. Wink

I'm hung at 'Entering game...'. I hope that's just from a flood of users connecting...

There was an internal error in our SQL Server, causing it to stop accepting connections and thus failing a health check and failing over.

The first two startups after the failover failed, the first one because of an application lock deadlock and the second one due to a timeout in startup of 30 nodes due to the startup load on the database server.

We should be all good now, except you might experience some lag to begin with while the SQL Server rebuilds it RAM cache.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience Sad

Mission stuff disappeared. BM still there but when warped to, only the orphaned drones were still there. The item I was supposed to pick up is gone. Strange thing is that I am down one drone that was actually lost before the crash but all the other drones have been mysteriously repaired. I suspect the agent won't consider the mission completed wthout the item I was supposed to hand over.
