I am going into manufacturing these soon, and to have them available for my alt's carrier as well (An Archon)

BPO's/ Fighters in Question:

Einherjii CreoDron sells this one
Firbolg CreoDron sells this one
Templar Have not found seller yet..
DragonFly Have not found seller yet..

Can someome enlighten me, as to;

1- Which fighters are most used, most "popular" and most in "demand" for a builder to buy the BPO's in right order ? Tecnically not a ship question, but question 2 is Laughing

2- Which fighters are used for what, in what circumstances; is it like drones, damage type rules vs the enemy you are facing ?

Thx in advance to all!
Jen

As for NPC traders, I bet you have a better chance of finding the amarr bpo's in amarr space, minmatarr in minmatar etc.

As theres a market, the most popular fighters, will have most producers, means most competition means less income. Either of the four should be a viable option to produce.

And yes, they are very much like drones.

Aren't fighters just normal, superexpensive-extremely dangerous drones?

Einherji does EXP damage
Firbolg does thermal damage
Templar does EM damage
Dragonfly does KIN damage

Each one has a base damage of 75HP and a damage multiplier of 1.6 (?). With each level of Fighters the base damage increases by 20%.

I don't really think there's a 'most popular' one in fighters, but I would use Einherjis and Templars. Templars to kill shielding and Einherjis to destroy armor.
I wouldn't invest solely in fighters either...mix up your drone bay with light scouts, medium scouts, heavy attacks, sentries, and then fighters. Make as many as possible Tech II though :D

Good Info Thx

So , none of the fighters are preferred then, just mix and match based on damage given ?

I had heard that gallente drones are quite preffered in a lot of cases, even if uses are made of the other types on occasions. i..e Ogre II's seems "preferred" for Heavies Tech II

So , anyone else with some experience/ thoughts of fighters and thgeir preferences if any ?
Thx
Jean

Fighters are a bit differn't than drones in that, they DON'T have the same ROF and do two types of damage

every fighter does 50DPS before skills (though technically they do 60DPS, because you HAVE to have at least fighter level 1 to fly them)

Caldari - 50hp kin, 25 hp Therm. Highest Damage, slowest ROF
Gallente - 50hp Therm, 25 hp kin.
minmatar - 50hp Exp, 25hp kin
amarr - 50hp EM, 25hp therm.

I'm not sure what the ROF/DMG mod on the rest are, but i do know the Dragonflys (Caldari) have the highest alpha strike

Also, just like other drones, thier travel speed and gun tracking are also different

I use just Einherji the minnie one, best speed, very good rof and tracking.

They make me happy, they come back faster, when they warp behind soemthing they reach it faster for finishing it, or well, they have maybe less alphastrike but they are the best for dealing vs smaller targets, while beign about the same vs bigger one.

Fascianting stuff

so Gallente, not bad, but no one prefers them yet
caldari highest alpha strike
Einherjii (minnie) have so fans

and last, and probably least, Amarr are not used I suppose, as always, getting the short end of the stick ?

With more Capitals enetering the game now, I , and maybe some others have a lot I can learn from the people who have used them over teh last year

Keep the info coming, it has been a long time (if ever..) I saw a fighter comparison, and comments by players

Thx again
Take care

I prefer the Einherji or Firlbog, depending on situation.
Einherji: Faster and better tracking (nice for attacking moving targets or stuff far away)
Firlbog: More damage (best for attacking POS structures or a large, slow moving target)

Templars are just so slow that they are almost unusable.
Dragonflys are not so bad in and of themselves I think, but theres few situations where theres a compelling reason to use them over either Einherji or Firlbog.

Note that they all do the same damage over time, and that the ones with better tracking have a faster orbit to compensate.

Everything is basically the same thing you notice with regular drones.

Most obvious difference is damage type, If you know someone has 1 resist that is extremely low then use that drone.

Other than that the most popular drone has and alwayse will be the gallente racial because it has the higest damage Mod (most people cannot see beyond this).

Minmatar racials are faster and more agile this being much more difficult to hit, however fighters arent particularly agile to begin with so i'm not sure how much of a bonus that is. If i'm not mistaken minmitar racials also have the LOWEST damage mod so they tend to be rather unpopular.

Amarr racial is so so, average on most things but EM damage the most umpopular damage type so it makes sense that this is the most umpopular drone.

Caldari drone's bonus is that it has a much longer range than the other drones (again all drones light-fighters including sentry's) but that bonus only becomes usefull on sentry drones, 3 or 4km isint going to make much of a difference because either the drone can keep up and stay withing 1.5km or it cant catch up and does not deal damage because its continually going in and out of MWD.

Since carriers can be used to blow up POS structures now, I'd say all 4 fighters have their use against a certain race's POS, considering racial resists.

Versus ships:

- Firbolg have highest DPS but are slow, low range and mediocre tracking so they would be good against capital ships
- Einherjii have lowest DPS but are fast and have good tracking, a good choice for taking out smaller ships like BSs, BCs & cruisers
- Dragonfly have average stats but the highest shields so they are good in situations where ur fighters will get under fire
