Hi,

I browsed the forums and KDB but I still have the following questions:

Q1
If I invent from a T1 BPC and I chose to add a best named T1 variant of the module or ship I want to invent the T2 from, how do I know what decrypting stuff I need to get? I read on the forums something about decrypting stuff that gets used like data cores, but I donít see on the BPC what type I need to use? I only see data cores and something else, but nothing that helps decrypting the tech 1 variant of the item. Can anyone tell me how I can find out what type of ďdecrypting item" I need to use if I want to improve the chance of getting a successful invention?

Q2
I understand that inventing tech 2 BPO's is impossible. You can only invent tech 2 BPC's by using tech 1 BPC's (the BPC, tech 1 item, decrypting item and data cores get destroyed in the process) and the result of a successful invention will always be a tech 2 BPC with a random nr of runs and never a tech 2 BPO.
How do I get a tech 2 BPO then? Are those to be found in some 0.0 dead space complexes or do I get an offer from a R&D agent? If itís via an offer, then how does that work, as we now have the LP store and agent offers are a thing of the past! If I look at the LP store, the only tech 2 BP's is see are all BPC's and not BPO's! How do I get a tech 2 BPO?

I hope some one can help me with those questions.
Thnx

T2 BPO's can currently be gained through the lottery however its almost empty and i'm not sure on what they plan to do with it now.

Can you explain me this lottery? What is it and how can some one take part of it?

research agents offer t2 bpos (for all of your research points until offer). It is totally random.Every race has 3 research corps, you can use 1 agent and research project management skill gives 1 agent for per skill level of iirc.
You need science lvl 5 and another skill lvl 5(mechanic or enginering or electronic) and skill for the field you want to do research (starship enginering ,rocket science ,mechanical enginering etc.).start to training your skills ,you may not get a bpo but youll get research points and you can buy datacores from your agent with them .
There are a few T2 bpos left at the lottery atm

The devs have stated that they are not planning to remove the tech2 BPO's. The reason give was that it would be difficult to work our a fair value given how much some people have paid for them.

As for joining the lottery, you need to train a research skill for a specific feild and they locate a research agent with the same field and BPO's. They will start to give you research points, each is one ticket in the lottery. Then you need to get very lucky!

The relevant decryptors are in fifth post down in this thread.

SiJira talk about removing T2 BPO, no Dev has ever even hinted that.

What was said bi different dev is that the current T2 lottery is the last one.

Maybe in the future it will become possible to get T2 BPO inventing them, but so far it is not even on the draving board, only an hypotesis.

So the only systems to get T2 BPO are:

1) contacting a R&D agent and asking him to start a research for you, you need at least science 5, laboratory operation and 1 level in a science skill the agent has. You will start accruing RP (research point). They are like ticket for a lottery. If you are very lucky your ticket is draw and you get the offer for a T2 BPO. Currently the only BPO that I know are still offered are in Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Enginering and they are for 1 drone and some mining crystal.

The interesting think is that the RP can be used to get datacores for invention.

2) Buying the BPO from a player (trade channel, forum or contracts). Beware of scammers.

The only system to get new T2 BPOs was that. Now, all are gone (some worthless ones might still exist here and there, but they'll be gone soon enough), and no new ones are to be generated henceforth, ever.

Those in existance, they might remain in existance indefinetely... or they might be eventually converted to high-run BPCs some time in the distant future. Alternatively, new T2 BPOs might become available through a modified invention system. All of this is highly speculative and no decision about it has been made.

How do you know those worthless BPO's are left ? Is there any way i can check what is left in this lottery?

To the OP .. You might as well forget the T2 bpo idea, unless you have billions yes billions to buy one..You have a better chance finding one ina can at a gate in rens , jita or amarr to name a fewLaughing... The lottery is all done except a few bpos and they will be gone soon.

Under a research agent, it lists his fields of research in the agent info tab. If it says nothing easily predictable for that field then all the bpo's have been given out.

When I last visited my agent a few days ago, he only had acolyte II bpo available under mechancial, everything else was nothing easily predictable.

A few months ago, they reseeded extra bpo's for all fields and slowly given them out, they are now just about all gone.

Actually they're not *just about* all gone, they are all gone.

So we all fools who have skills in Science ?
I have about 400k worthless SP in that section. If I can't get a BPO, they all useless crap and waste of paid(!) time.
I have plans to move to 00, but now I can't do that because I not have any chances to get BPO for my one ship I can fly.
I just can't play after this change!

its more likely that they will remove them than that they will be inventable as bpos

Depending on datacore prices, bpc runs and such you pick the decryptor which promises best profit. Keep also in mind that if you build a lot the PE becomes very important also.

to Q2)
Look at the contracts, but even better here at the forums in the Marketplace/Sell Orders channel. There are T2 BPO autions. If you have a specific T2 BPO you want you can also set up a want-to-buy ad. But those t2 bpo's are quite expensive. And I think that you can earn more money with invention because you can build so much faster!

You can look here to start with: Invention guide thread and then you can read more in that channel. There are lots of useful about invention in there.

That argument makes the unwarranted assumption that one of either of these two circumstances will occur. It ignores a third option.

If you check the stats on t2 bpos, you'll see that the number producable daily is far far lower than the number that a person can reasonably invent daily. A corpmate of mine is making more profit per week than the bpo owners on several items due to the sheer volume of invented bpcs he's creating with just one account. T2 bpos may be more efficient but a single one won't outsupply a single good inventor. BPOs aren't the big advantage they used to be.

Nothing prevents a T2 BPO owner from inventing as well though. Inventing broke up the almost-monopoly the BPO holders had and thus ended the insane profits, but you still have a huge advantage if you can use the BPO instead of or in addition to BPCs.
Besides those with T2 BPOs usually have the infrastructure in place already to build their items and can keep it going since they reliably know how much they'll be building. With invention you still rely on random chances which affects your efficiency.

Lies.

We all know the T2 BPO owners were telling us the truth when they were whining about how T2 BPOs were 'not that profitable' before invention.

Just like we should believe them now when they claim that invention is sooooo much better than owning a T2 BPO.

The only thing that might be wrong with a T2 BPO is that they may have been absurdly over-valued to the point where the owners will never make their isk back before the servers shut down due to the drop in T2 prices.

Look this thread: invention thread, in particular posts 438, 460, 465, 469, 470 by Oveur.

From those post (they are a bit old, but nothing was said after those): BPO will not be removed.

Before they are turned in BPC invented BPC should be changed so that it is possible to do ME and PE research on them (even if that will make little difference) and the numbers of run that is possible to get from invention should dratically increase (and that will be a big change). At the same time CCP is toying with the idea to give the possibility to invent T2 BPO (posts 465 and 470).

As all those changes have a little chance of being implemented, T2 BPo will stay in game forever.

Well i'm happy i finally did get a T2 bpo, even though it wasn't such a great one, atleast i now can say i did that part of eve as well.

A shame though that now a lot of my skills are sorta wasted, i trained to be able to build T2 gallente ships, i got all the ship part bpos' and researched them... only thing missing was the ship bpo.. oh well..

tbh what i would like to see in exchange of the bpo lottery is a T2 bpc shop, just like regular agents but in this case u can go to your R&D agent and exchange ur RP's for limited run T2 bpc's. (in this case i wouldn't even mind if my T2 bpo would be turned into a max run bpc) in this case u should also actually have to do the R&D agent missions to gain rp's and not get them from thin air.
