Doh - I had not spotted I could click on the icon :) Now I'm happy!
I suggest duplicating it in the context menu ("nice to have") |

Originally by: Parhelion I have two ship setups which I'm playing with. One is an absolution and one is a nighthawk. The defense values are 394 and 343 respectively. Which seems to indicate the abso setup will tank better, however, the tooltip information when you hover over the defense values indicates
For the abso: 237, 621, 861, 316 For the nighthawk: 146, 694, 1655!, 364
How are the 'summary' defense values calculated from the above? It doesn't appear to be an average. I would also think the nighthawk value should be higher than the abso given the huge difference in kinetic dps (all other resists are quite close).
It is an average. But if you just summ all individual values and divide them by 4 you'll get wrong result. Forumla is the same as with effective hitpoints but instead of amount of hitpoints you use amount of hitpoints per second you repairers can repair. DefenceEff = HP_Per_Second/(1 -AverageResist) AverageResist = (ResistEM +ResistThermal +ResistKinetic +ResistExplosive)/4 Originally by: Parhelion Also, I find it hard to believe the kin dps different between the two setups (861 compared to 1655!) given similar resists (91 and 94 respectively - bear in mind one is armor other is shield).
That's the basics of eve math =) The higher your resistance is, the greater effect you get from every single percent of it. 50% resistance give you twice better protection than 0% resistance, as well as 99.5% gives you twice better than 99%. Originally by: Mdram does the program autoupdate itself? or how will we know when a new version is available?
Some people don't like to allow it to connect to eve-online to fetch the skills, let alone checking for updates on some arbitrary site - which I wouldn't allow by myself. Just check this thread from time to time, I'll update it's name when new version became available. |

Feature requests: An easy way to copy modules ... Example: I opened a Rupture setup, and I (for some reason) have 3 220mm AC II's fit, and 1 425mm AC II. I want to be able to drag the 220mm AC II's over the 425mm AC II and have it replace it. It's ok if I have to delete the 425mm first.
I don't want to have to go back to the components list.
Also, component categories would be nice (even if I have to put them there myself). Which is to say, that I want to be able to make a new category that contains components that I selected.
Armor tanking modules => Armor Rep II's, EANM II's, DCU II's, Explosive Hard II's, etc. Passive Shield tanking modules => Shield Extender II's (of variety), SPR II, Beta SPR, Shield Rechargers, Invuln II's, etc.
Its a nice tool... its dps calculation isn't too bad either. It's fairly accurate from what I've tested out on TQ.

This thread really needs to be stickied.
Another very minor point, but is there any particular reason you put the resists in a non-standard order? I keep having to do a double take, would be nice if they went EM Exp Kin Therm like everywhere else ;) |

I just tried this tool and looks great.
Thing that i noticed is wrong: jammers info is not properly calculated, it seems like stacking penalties are not considered.
I created the Rook setup that I use and I compared the stats from the game and the stats that your program shows and your program shows too big stats like the stacking penalties are not considered (I have fitted 2 signal distortion amplifiers and 2 particle dispersion augmentor rigs)
Otherwise very nice tool. |

Edited by: Rooker on 17/07/2007 11:28:08Awesome tool. I'm getting a couple of weird issues with it though. 1) Dragging a module sometimes leaves a graphical glitch, like you're drawing on an etch-o-sketch or something. I'd link a screeny, but I can't load eve-files atm. No, here we go. 2) Every time I add drones to a set up, they disappear next time I open that same set up. Apparently it is picking a single ship and adding every drone to 1 ship. I wouldn't mind an Ishkur with 50 drones and 10,000DPS, but I don't think Eve lets me do that. :P |

Edit: There needs to be a way of changing a skill, when right clicking on a module, so that it'll show what effect it has but doesn't actually change your current skill.
Also some of the info in brackets, such as how long your cap will last get cut off, and the tooltips don't last anywhere near as long enough. Would also be nice if you could set a setup as the base, and when you change an item it shows the difference it's made. |

One thing i found though. The cap boosters t2 show same grid usage like t1 versions. Cannot check ingame now for obvious reasons, but i think that's not correct. |

Edited by: Chum Tea on 20/07/2007 07:44:22 Really nice. Usability wise way better than QuickFit.
Just two things: Please don't force windows to stay inside the application's container. Kinda makes it hard to use the app when using multiple windows on the desktop. Adding the civilian guns from the rookie ships would be nice, too - they are commonly used to get aggro on some PvE drone boats. |

Cloak speed is a bit buggered.
Ingame my Nemesis fitted with an Improved Cloaking Device II goes 246m/s uncloaked and 230m/s cloaked. This is with CovOps at 3 and Navigation at 4. In EFT it says 154m/s cloaked. |

Open "Active Drones" at the bottom of the ship setup, drag drones from fitting panel, etc. Question from me: How do I copy a setup? I've been starting setups from scratch just to make slight variations, which sucks. |

Oh, and thank you very much for the fitting tool. In some ways Quickfit is more powerful, but I really like the interface and basic organization of this one better. The most critical thing it's missing for my purposes is a "favorites" folder. |

It does. Go to the folder where you have EFT and there should be a folder named "Setups". Each Setup has all saved setups on that particular ship.XML is out, API is in. |
