By the way, Gripen is not that dead or inactive, his last post was on November 2. So keep an eye here. Either he's busy or working on it. Don't worry too much, you'll all have your EFT fix soon I suppose.

Or, he could be busy. |

I think Gripen is having to redesign the interface slightly before he can release the QR version. Since he would have to add the information about the certificates, so it checks if you have the recommended certificates for that ship. |

I rather he do the QR patch ASAP first then move on to the cert, since they r not a must |

If you didn't notice, the QR patch actually changed some mechanics like how missile damage is applied. So it's not simply a matter of plugging in the updated data dump, the only way to derive the new formulas is to do a bunch of testing ingame.
Give Gripen a rest and some credit, he has done a tremendous amount of free work for the community already and even if he decided to scrap EFT we'd all still owe him beers for all he's done so far. |

What the point to ever think about implementing certificates? they are redundant in the area of EFT. Affecting nothing of and doing nothing for ship fitting. |

It wasn't been taken into account ever, at least not in the fitting screen. Could be some issues in tracking simulation, and I agree it's of low priority for majority of players... but... it's up to Gripen if he ever decide to release new version or not. |

I LOVE EFT.... but, for those of u have not noticed or dont use it. EVE HQ has a ship fitter with the new datadump. Sadly however I've not figured out a way to apply gang bonuses in EveHQ's fitting tool. But for the time being it's been an alright substitute. Here's the link.... Linkage |

I'm sure Gripen will be finished with QR EFT soon. But it would be fine if he can write some words like "yes, iam working on it. Just wat a few days" or "i don't have time for the moment." |

EVE HQ is pretty buggy though. Has crashed for me several times and many mods/ships don't seem to be working properly at all. Even mods which have the stats correct in the show info box's still aren't changing the ships projected stats as they should. Gripen will come through as always hehe. |

I will confirm the buggy/uselessness. Some mods and scripts simply don't effect the stats. |

Edited by: Darkeen on 20/11/2008 11:25:49 HI,
Noop question here...
Is there a help file (or a possibility to get an updated help file) with descriptions of the details:
ie I know what DPS is but I dont know what Volley is... Since there isnt a search facility, can anyone tell me what volley is?
Thanx. |

Exactly what is sounds like - i.e. the total damage your guns or launchers do when they all hit the target simultaneously (alpha strike). |

I'd like to also extend my gratitude to Gripen for providing us with the wonderfully handy tool that is EFT.
However, I like many others am eager to hear some update of when we could expect a fully QR- compliant version... TBH in times of major overhaul like this I do wish that the updating of the app was not dependent on one person but it obviously is his creation and he does like he wishes. ATM I can fit stuff ok with the speedpatch data and most things work like expected on TQ but it would still be great to get totally accurate stats...
I will do like someone suggested and make a modest ISK donation, he does indeed deserve it! |

Haven't used this in awhile, just d/l'ed the new version today, and I have to say I am astounded at the upgrades in the last 3 months.
Fabulous job, Gripen!

Gripen has done some amazing work on EFT and he's devoted a lot of time to it, I agree. It's an excellent utility and very accurate. I do wish that he'd change to a development/distribution model that would allow him to work corraboratively in developing and maintaining it though. As a programmer myself, I can imagine the hours that went into making EFT. I can also understand why he might not want to just release the fruits of that labor to anyone and everyone. I wish he would charge for it instead. Maybe that income could be used to organize a project to maintain EFT. If nothing else, it would represent a concrete incentive. I know that it would be pirated, but there are still some carebears left IRL... Every day I play Eve without it, I feel like I'm flying blind.
So thanks to Gripen for all his hard work, but please think about trying to establish some kind of team to share the burden. I'm no Dijkstra, but I'd be the first one to sign up! And there's got to be plenty of programmers out there who would love to help as well. EFT is reward enough in itself. |

Thanks Klarad (and Thanks Mona). Thats what I thought but I was getting confused as DPS was adding up all the damage form the guns when selected. I forgot that the volley broken down into a per second damage would be the DPS... Thanks, its clarified it for me! |
