Hi Gripen,

Any chance you can either sort the Ship types in the 'Ship Browser' alphabetically, or have a button/setting to do it? Seems to be random ATM, or at least I couldn't see what the sort was.

Always takes me a while to search through the list when I need to find a certain ship type.

Otherwise, great prog :)

Rob.

First up, I love EFT! But who doesn't? :P

Two things I'd like to see though.
1) Can you arrange the ship categories alphabetically instead of how they are now?
2) When fitting ships and there is something on there you can't use, the little green thing at the top turns red. Could it be possible to show which module it is that you can't use yet?

I restate this, please?

Edit:
Oh, also, another thing! I think it's great that you can now set implants in the ship fitting, but could it be fixed so that those are exported along with the ship modules. I know it wouldn't work in the eve import, but maybe they'd just get ignored?

First : Thank you Gripen for EFT !

Second : I want to report a (minor) Bug : Setup an Exhumer ( Hulk, Mack, Skiff ), add a Strip Miner ( I or II does not matter ). Select [All level V] Profile. Right Click on the Strip Miner and select Change Affecting Skill. The List is incorrect as is shows Mining Foreman Skill and is missing Mining Barge Skill. It correctly lists Mining and Astrosurvey. Altering the Mining Foreman Skill will not affect the Stats.

Edit : All T1 Mining Crystals are Listed under T2 Mining Crystals
Edit2 : All Mining Lasers show Mining Foreman in the "Change Affecting Skill" List

yeah not sure how or where to report bugs and or errors so am posting it here..... as an FYI
Large Shield expander II's list as 46 CPU in EFT but only 34 in Eve... that is to say after an skills have been taken into account which it seems EFT is not taking into account even with the all lvl 5 skills character

It is presently sorted by a weighted average of size/value. I find it easy to find ships, it starts with frigate classes and finishes with capitals.

Anyone else encountered a bug with Strategic Cruisers?

When I load an already saved fit and change any subsystem, I cannot put modules on the ship anymore. I can remove any module, but can't put back anything. And nothing fixes this, I have to make a new fit from scratch (tried restarting the program, copying the fit, etc).
If your fittings violate the number of hardpoints that your current subsystems give, you won't be able to add any new mods. Check that turrets/launchers is not a negative number. If it is, remove turrets/launchers until the number is 0 or more, then try again.

Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. <- negative number of launcher hardpoints available in this example

Yeah, you are right, I was stupid.

Not sure if it was mentioned or not, too much to read! Any chance you can add scripts to remote sensor boosters when used in Projected effects it's imposible to add scripts to boost only scan res or only range.

Many thanks!

for #2, hover over the red thingy - a tooltip will tell you what module needs a skill you dont have, and what skill(s) you need for it.

Found a little bug with the DPS graphs, which is that TE's / TC's don't affect your optimal range in it.

To reproduce (not sure, see edits), fit any ship (preferably with long enough range to see difference with TE /TC), and put it into attacker in dps graph. Add any target, and then add TE / TC to the attacking ship. Only the length of the graph changes, but the damage graph stays identical, even though it should change because of the changed optimal / falloff you now have.
It doesn't matter if you have TE / TC fitted before opening graph, or adding it while it's shown, neither changes the optimal in any way.

Edit: Hmm, it's not that simple... My paladin (4x Tach II) / Abaddon (8x Meta 4 Megabeams) that I initially tested it in didn't change, but then Apoc (8x Tach II) does with adding TE /TC, so needs more testing. Target was always Bestower with no skills / items, velocity for both attacker and target was 0.

Edit2: And now it works on those tw ships too. Ah well, it's all good now but might still be a bug if it can be reproduced)

EFT dont calculates "Large Remote Armor Repair" Rigs...
It slows down the ship but the cap dont changes.

Same for the "Large Nanobot Accelerator" Rig

(used on carrier)

"Large Nanobot Accelerator I:
This ship modification is designed to reduce a ship's armor repair cycle duration at the expense of max velocity.

Note: Does not work on capital sized modules"

Maybe that is the reason

<3 EFT

Version 2.12.4 possible bugs:

When building unprobable tengu (aplification node, dissolution sequencer, 3* conjunctie ECCM in mid, caldari electronics V) for sensor strength 195. Same in EVE.
Adding thee LG Talons (Beta Delta Epsilon) gives 224 sensor strength in EFT, but only 208 in EVE. My guess is that EFT also multiplies the Talon implants by the Dissolution bonus?

Same Tengu has 4 BCU in low. In EFT adding a medium T1 Missile Warhead Calefaction Rig adds a measly 1% damage, as might be expected due to the stacking penalty. Adding a T2 Warhead Calefaction Rig adds an unexpected 4.6% damage. Didn't try this in EVE, due not wanting to waste ISK on an overstacked T2 rig.

This happens because stacking penalties are applied from the highest % to the lowest.

The BCU2 and the T1 rig all have a 10% damage bonus, so it doesnt matter which way the penalty is applied, the result is the same.

T1 Calefaction - 10% Bonus - 100% effective = 10%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 87% effective = 8.7%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 57% effective = 5.7%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 28% effective = 2.8%

When you add the T2 rig, however, it goes to the top of the stack:

T2 Calefaction - 15% Bonus - 100% effective = 15%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 87% effective = 8.7%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 57% effective = 5.7%
BCU2 - 10% Bonus - 28% effective = 2.8%

To confirm: try getting a ship with zero EM resist on shield. Turn on 3 invuls and note the EM resistance. Now turn on a T2 EM hardener and check again. The EM resist will rise a lot for the same reason.

EFT is beyond praise at this point so I'll just skip to the bug...

When selecting charges for strip miners or MSMIIs, the T1 mining crystals list only has Veldspar, and the T2 mining crystals list has all the rest, both T1 and T2.

This program is worth gold Cool

A few minor annoyances though and tips/ideas on usability/user friendliness if you don't mind :)

  • A toolbar (button bar). Make one for ships/fittings, one for character functions. Make bars customizable via the View menu (basically like most Windows programs) with the option to close them and move them etc.

  • Under File, add a submenu for ships most used/favorites. Allow add to favorites by right clicking a ship.

  • In the ship browser, add a search function where you can start typing the ship name and the list changes accordingly.

  • Currently, no skills/all L5 can be hidden. I would like to see the ability to select a default character. I don't want to hide All L5, but it is now selected by default on every loadout. When I do hide it, my alt is selected first.

  • Save character selection on ship setups.

  • Make favorite modules available on right click. Appearently you can only drag modules to Favorites? But the tree does not scroll automatically when you start dragging something so you have to manually scroll that to make favorites visible, then drag the module. Maybe theres another way I don't know. The most obvious way does not work: right click, choose add to favorites. Ironically, for removing from favorites right click is supported :). Also, dragging a module from the loadout screen to favorites doesn't work either.

  • The modules list pane lists collums for name, cpu and powergrid. I'd like to see a collumn for cap use and for calibration for rigs. Make the collumns in this window customizable (enable disable for the user).

  • Last but not least, Ship setups/fittings. As it is now changes to a loadout are permanent. Once you remove something it is saved immediately and cannot be undone. I'd like to see it so that a loadout is not immediately saved and changes to it can be undone or reverted (undo/redo function). Once you close that window it will ask you to save, don't save, cancel. When you change the setup to another loadout with unsaved changes, it will ask save, don't save, cancel, open in new window.

Thanks for considering.

carcino, I think you're mixing up the meta4 AB and MWD.

Rawnie, there is a cap use column, right of the PG one. And calibration points are below turrets and launcher hardpoint counts.
Try duplicating setups if you don't want to have your old setup lost as you try improving it. 3rd entry on the dropdown list button between a ship's fitting list and your characters list.

(pages 5-163) TL;DR
One suggestion, one question.

S) When creating new character, have it default to the skills new characters start with. You'd have to select race so it gets weapons and racial frigate correct, but that's it, right?

Q) How do you other users configure damage proportions when fitting for PVE builds? For example, for tanking EM/Therm like lasers I put it at 70% EM, 30% Thermal. But I'm not sure if that's adequate. What do you all think?

Hi Daneel.

The cap and calibration columns I was suggesting for the module selection pane, not the fitting screen itself. So you can actually see the base values in the same way as powergrid and cpu usage which are currently visible.

Thanks for your ship setups suggestion its a nice workaround and that is what I currently do (if I don't forget it). My suggestion would improve upon that, which is why I suggested it.

You can use custom profiles. I picked this up elsewhere on the forums:

DamageProfile=Amarr empire,1204,1349,0,0
DamageProfile=Angel,480,0,719,3058
DamageProfile=Blood raider,613,570,60,0
DamageProfile=Caldari state,0,795,944,0
DamageProfile=EoM,0,618,1718,0
DamageProfile=Gallente federation,25,781,1127,0
DamageProfile=Gurista,0,570,3504,0
DamageProfile=Mercenaries,90,634,424,108
DamageProfile=Minmatar republic,615,310,815,1633
DamageProfile=Rogue Drones,86,91,281,964
DamageProfile=Sansha,1945,1598,0,0
DamageProfile=Serpentis,0,1627,1320,0
DamageProfile=Mercs 2,211,566,363,116

Put that in your EFT's Config.ini all the way to the bottom. You can then right click 'Defense' and select one of the damage profiles. This makes it easier to pick hardeners for specific missions.

Cheers.

For some reason, why I try to open EFT it keeps giving me an error

"" is not a valid floating point value

I click ok and then got this

Access violation at address 0046C29B in module 'EFT.exe' Read of address 00000057

Clicking ok and nothing seems to work

So I closed it, deleted my ship and character folder, reinstalled EFT (newer version) and it still happens everytime I open up EFT.

Endo, just take a closer look at your turret- or launcherhardpoints
You can't fit anything, if you have negative values there

I have problems with some amarr ships. For example Nightmare and Legion are both capstable at 44% and 41% in EFT, but ingame my Nightmare is empty after 5 minutes and Legion shows me in my ingame fitting screen, that it is only have cap for 13 minutes and 4 seconds (dont tested it yet)
