REQUEST! exporting in the EVE.xml format for direct loading of fits to eve.

Ive copied and pasted from EFT.cfg files to EVE.xml and imported EFT fits that way.

I am pretty sure this will be in the next version of EFT, because it is so simple ofc!
And in the meantime i am sure someone could cook up a EFT to EVE XML converter that reads all your fittings and saves them as XML files. Heck, you could possibly fit your ships in EFT, export and then import in eve almost making it as if you fitted eve with EFT!

If i felt that i would need that feature i could build the application to do so myself but at the moment i don't need it. Razz
Get working on it, it's really easy!

Any news on when the new probe launchers will be added?

If not is there a way for me to add modules manually? (edit a config file of some sort for example)

Doesn't CCP have to provide a new Database-Export for an new release, first ?

And then i think it needs time to implement the T3 Subsystem Features.

Yer i think everyone is eager for the next release of the most popular tool for the game.
I would expect it'd be more than a week from now to fully implement all the new stuff, will make testing T3 combos really easy

If I could make a small request:

When I click on links on "About" window they automaticaly open in MS's Internet Explorer wich I don't use at all. Can you make it so that the links open in default browser set in the system instead in Internet Explorer?

Nice program, just want to point out that in EFT the 'Tracking Enhancer' modules can be turned on and off like Active Modules but in fact they are Passive Modules that should always be ON.
Keep up the good work!
Tnx

I don't suppose you could make a super addon that is for fitting POS's that shows ~DPS, range of turrets, and all that cool stuff. Basically the same fitting model that you have for ships, but for POS's.

We are in such need for that.

POS guns range would be greatly affected by guns placement. It's not the ship, that is effectively a point with radius.

Importing character XML sheet is also very easy, but haven't been implemented in last year.

If you check the Tech Lab, you'll see there's already one. And another will be added to my page next to the EVEmon->EFT character converter that already exists.

I fitted a logistics ship and installed a "Drone Repair Augmentor I" rig.
The repair amount for the drones does not change.

Is there a reason for that or is it a small bug?

Any Chance of adding a Ship Selector like EveMon has?
Or at least a Search-as-you-Type Feature in the Selection Screen?

Drones stats are bugged for most things imho, rigs as well, and skills.
Great tool nevertheless!

In defense of the EFT team, CCP didn't assign the buffs and attributes to the new T3 ships and subsystems until only a few days before the release of Apocrypha, so they've not had long to add and define those new items, and of course they have to come up with a new mechanism for subsystems too. Give them a break.. it'll be ready when it's ready, and you know it'll be an excellent addition to the best EVE tool out there.

I've asked to point me to the existing feature, instead you showed me the authour's misunderstanding.
Gripen was wrong, there was and still no intention from CCP to remove manual XML export from character page.
If you take your time to actually check it, you'll see it's exist. It was just changed to use API, the same way as you'd retrieve it through API server using any other tools.

just wanted show my support for those eft guys, you really made eve much more "awesome" for me.

Cant even think of fitting a t3 without eft.

I believe CCP, gotta agree on terms with you guys then add eft as an add-on to eve.

very nice program, a really useful feature would be to make it easier to view the meta level of each of the modules, a nice place to implement this would be to view this information in an extra column in the item box (bottom left corner) next to the name/power/CPU requirements, this way it could easily be 'sorted by' just by clicking the column

It's a great program, I just find it lacks in basic usability aspects so I'll request a few:

1) When EFT is started up initially, automatically bring up the "Open Ship Browser..." dialog. That should help immensely with the task of fitting a ship that is not on the clipboard. Most people who have just downloaded the program won't even know where to start.

2) In the ship browser window itself, have an extra area that has a running list of the last 5-10 fittings, then I don't have to spend half a minute trying to find the fitting I'm checking back up on.

Thanks for listening.

Feature suggestion:

export to excel, or an in-built comparison table generator that allows you to compare ship fitting stats and gang fitting stats in an easy to read tabulated format.

Feature suggestion:
It would be great to have easy access to fittings in a text form. It is possible to view them like that after finding them among the EFT files. How about adding an option in EFT interface to open a CFG file for the fitting being viewed?

Could I modify some ship from EFT database and replace it's attributes with t3 ship attributes? To check few possible fittings untill the new version is released?

EDIT: By tweaking the ships.dat? But I see that its in binary form or something... Anyway to edit it?

You can use my converter. It's not finished yet but it should work in most cases. I am still waiting for the Apocrypha database dump and I need to change the conversion to EFT so you don't have to manually edit any file, but otherwise, it should work.

Unless I'm mistaken, there hasn't been an update from Gripen in quite some time. I think we should all just assume this project is dead unless anyone knows 100% otherwiseugh

Last update was 3 months ago, which is hardly dead considering there hasn't been any need to update in those 3 months. Have some patience for christs sake, Apocrypha was a huge update for a program like EFT.
