They added a couple of new tunes in Rev II didnt they? I turned my sound on again after I read they upgraded the sound engine, and the music is actually really good. It changes for different stages in a mission as well.

Eve has sound! Smile

For me it is the opposite, sound before the patch, but had to turn it off cause the never ending sound of targetting was driving me nuts...

It might be some sound in eve, but since my computer hard reboots if i turn the sound on, I'm not able to enjoy it. It only happens with eve, because of my onboard realtec alc888 chipset. CCP points finger to realtec though Laughing

After this sound upgrade, for the first time ever, if i have 2 clients running and have the sound enabled in one of them, the client with sound on will crash after about 10 minutes of play lol....

I never had this problem before the revII patch. It is ok however, as I just shut off the sound completely and listen to the extracted ogg music files in winamp, now I dont have to listen to the annoying warp sound and other sound effects... (Is it just me, or do rails sound like someone slamming a cheap metal screen door?)

Sound... what is this mythical beast called sound you talk off? I seem to remember something strange words called Warp Drive Active (in a really depressed voice) from many moons ago Very Happy.

Seriously though sounds like I should give it a go make me feel like a noob all over again ugh.

Some day there'll be a new slider on the Audio settings: "Warp Noise". Assuming I can slide it to zero I might consider turning back on the sounds of Eve

im one of the few which only runs one instance of eve (no secondary accounts) and like to keep the sounds on..

But the only time I have ever been forced to turn them off completly was yesterday when there was a repeating 'targeting' noise!.. arrgg, infuriating!.. had to re-log.

Im the same way (one account, no alts)

Im getting the repeating noise when I drag and drop cargo. Easiest way to fix it is to go into sound, turn it off, then back on again.

if i turn sound on i get an unusual BSOD and it force reboots itself. I'll give it a run now to see if it still does it with this upgrade, but i douptful. Actually, i cba with the risk, soudn stays off!

I listened to it for a bit after patch, then I realized warp sound is still too loud and turned it off...

Yes it is a Problem With Realtek, There is a patch that Microsoft has that addresses this. Its in the Known issues page
