Its possible. And depending on your machine you can alt-tab between them pretty quickly aswell.

Yes i run three accounts but the third one will become bugged and lag itself out if used too much i use it just to run gang assist modules for my miner.

I have run 6 at once with little to no lag. Running duel sceens so had 3 on each screen. Oh and all running in windowed mode ofc.

Yeah there's no inbuilt eve based limit...

Mine seems to run 3 ok... 4 hmmm... 5 and the processor goes melty melty :o

The graphics card also seems to like them split up, more than 3 on one monitor it doesn't really like, though 2/2 or 3/1 it's quite fine with for some reason (even if they're 'behind' each other).

14! Shocked
How the hell can you keep track of 14 characters in game at once? Just changing skill training must be a nightmare.

I run 4 accounts at the same time. Unless I'm pvp hunting then I only play 2. (Hauler missions 4tw)

Like someone said, its all about the ram. 4 Gigs is plenty, 6 is just overkill :)

its all about ram

if your proc is slow then you can run them at below normal priority, and that will help with most problems.

i have a batch fielthat launches eve:

@echo off
start /BELOWNORMAL eve.exe

Were you in EDF? I was an active miner in R97 I ran a lot of characters with the same last name as this one on top of others with different names. Im sure some people remember me and my ability to clean belts within an 1-2hrs hehe.

And yes 14 accoutns at once was no problem believe it or not.
Currently I run up to 6-8 now depending on what im doing.

On normal im running 3-4... including 2-3 in combat :)

Its all very possible just requires a good pc, good multitasking skills so forth.
If you dont believe it, its because you can not do it :)

i've run 4 at once(2 on sisi, 2 on TQ), on a AMD XP2500+ with 2igs of ram
i've run 3 on(1 on sisi, 2 on TQ) on my slower pc - AMD XP1600+ with 768mb of ram

both wern't bad, slight memory issues made me have to crash the slower pc about 2hrs later, but I THINK it was caused by the SISI testing I was watching/doing

and 14! accounts, damn, my wife complains I need a life

RAM is your friend and running windowed really helps , also dual or tripple monitors also helps

Well I was EDF for over a year and sure as hell don't remember a bunch of Maximus miners in R97.

I've run 3 comfortably on my laptop before, and my desktop barely notices it.

I run 3 no problem on either my laptop (Dell D600, with X300 Graphics card) and on my Gaming Rig.

The above posts are spot on, with the current game design and the fact most graphics math is done on the Main CPU RAM is a must. However the new Trinity graphics engine will be doing most of that work on GPU so a very good graphics card will be come the key to running lots of client at the same time.

I would recommend always running them in window mode (as eve client is not too stable when constantly alt-tabbing when in full screen mode), but if you like to see everything in full screen mode, leave your client(s) in window mode and enable the 'Relocate windowed eve to fill a montior' option in EVEMon this makes the window mode look and feel like full screen without the alt-tab issues.

Depends.

What kind of internet connection you have?

If you have dial up, you probably can handle 2 to 3 outside of combat at once, you'd probably want to have only 1 going though if in combat.

Faster internet service you might could run 2 or 3 simultaneously, assuming multiple monitors to keep up with combat situations.

- Intel created Quad Core cpus especially to run multiple EVE accounts at the same time Very Happy, AMD is about to do the same. Very Happy
- RAM : as much as you can afford.
- Graphic card : as much memory on board as you can afford.

I have a QX6700, lightly overclocked and when 5 accounts are running, only 39% CPU are used. Each EVE window has a framerate far above 30fps ofc

I have run up to 7 clients on one pc, all from the same installation folder (not seperate folders) and never had a problem.

My normal is about 3 clients. You do need a very good processor do so this though and plenty of ram.

I can run 3 fine with 1gb of DDR2 Ram. Never tried 4 cause I don't need it.

also done 7 actively, back when i had one 21" crt. on a amd1800, gf5600. eve needed less hardware to run before RMR.

Now I have 3widescreen lcd's and run each eve window mode in the exact res of a single lcd so i have 3 eve's up and active one per monitor at all times, never needing to alt tab.

I can run 4 on a PC with a E6600 Dualcore with a 8800GTX graphics card and 2Gig RAM. Earlier i could run 5 on a much smaller config.

It seems that the Eve client is using up a LOT more CPU lately, just running 2 makes cpu utilisation reach 90% or more, it used to be about 50% spread over a dualcore 4400+ AMD processor.

I dont know it it is actually the client of its the fact that i am using Vista now, but it is VERY annoying....

So lately i am usually only running 3, 4 works but becomes slower and slower.

Three is very doable. You will need good amount of RAM, and a goood processor.

Run all three from same .exe, and run in windowed mode. If you get some crashing disable sound.

And for practical tips:
- Keep separate copy of Eve folder for each account
- Disable sound on all but one account
- Use windowed mode for all accounts
- Set window size (resolution) smaller than your real screen(s) total -> you can see (partially) all accounts
- Try to always use the same account (the main) to chat with people
- Stay away from big fleet battles
- Have a lot of RAM

More than just overkill it's not even addressable using a normal 32 bit processor. Most versions of XP can't make use of more than 2Gb.
