Hi folks,

Time for a new story. We present to you Miss Atira Malkaanen, and her exploits as member of a local police force on a mining colony. Ms. Malkaanen, as you'll find, is quite a handful.

One thing, well - two, come to my mind while reading this piece.

"Boobies!"

... and as we all know, a story with boobies is a good story.

Thanks, Abraxas! Very Happy

This one feels like it's the first chapter in a longer story - any chance we might get a follow up? Pretty please?

I love the style, nice and dark. Almost a noir feeling about it.

Good heavens. If that's what you people want, sure, I'll consider a sequel. But be warned: Now that the twist has been revealed, it's likely that the next piece will be far more introspective and quite a bit darker.

I enjoyed this story but after she dropped the dogtag in the box I idly wondered how many she'd got...Then I walked to my hangar, with its huge drifts of shiny dogtags, and thought, "Nub.".
