Not sure if anyone has mention this. If so sorry for the double post.
Can we implement degradable weapons and items so that there will be a continous need for manufactured products? I've only been playing for 2 weeks and as I see it everything I buy lasts as long as I need it. It would also be a better pucker factor in combat or mining knowing that your equipment can fail at any time. This is not a Corp pitch due to the fact that I am not in a corp yet. As it stands long term I see all of EvE flying in space in high end equipment with no degrade in our equipment so when those who become rich and powerfull do nothing but by more powerfull stuff and expand at no real overhead cost to them. Combat items should degrade after ? hrs of combat use. Mining items degrade after ? hrs of mining use. Perishables like ammo,minerals,goods should have a ? shelf storeage life. This forces us to be smarter on how we buy & manufacture goods. Use it, sell it or loose but dont just stock pile it concept. Thats the way it is in real life.
We can go many different ways with it and any other ideas to add on would be great. Not sure what it would take for CCP to implement this concept and still keep up with the current bugs and ideas others may have. But it IMHO it would be a huge addition and possible eye catcher to the already lingering critics that EvE has already. Keep up the good work guys I'm loving EvE as it stands now.

Not sure if this is such a good idea. From a roleplaying perspective, you would think that technology in the world of Eve would be so advanced that item degradation would be a thing of the past. From a realism point of view, as if we didn't have enough to worry about with NPC and PC pirates capable of destroying our ships and everything on board, now we would have to worry about our turrets dissolving into space in the heat of battle? I like the current system just fine. So long as there is PK'ing, there will always be a need for new ships and gadgets.
