What do you say? It would be very interesting situation.

You have dozens of alliances, trillions of isks, millions of skillpoints. I have a feeling that we have to much of everything!

Lets reset everything! Wallets, Skills, assets, alliances etc. Everything!

Lets go back to stone age! And lets start the fun again!

What do you say?

(yes, im serious. Its april 2nd, no april fools joke)

rgrds,
Lielu Lee

Well, it would solve 2 things:

- lag: since most of the people only stick around because of the stuff they have amassed over the years, only a few 1000 players would remain after that

- CCP reality check: they'd realize that while EVE was great in 2003, it's extremely disappointing in 2007, esp. for new players who believed the "large fleet battles" stuff and ctrl-tab-screenshots. Perhaps they'd sit down and think long and hard about fixing EVE.

No. Why?

We are paying for the fun right? Removing all the skills/assets etc wont remove fun. Just make something new. Create new goals etc.

You spent time playing, having fun, you paid for it. Why you want me to pay you for the fun you had?

If you want me to pay you all the money back, then it means you have invested that money, and in some time soon you want to earn smthg from this investment. Correct? Or no?

Fine. Don't refund us what we've paid so far. Refund us, in cash value, the ammount of in-game assets that would be lost, at the current GTC trade value. pwned you say?

For you its maybe nothing, but for those, who have spent more than 2-3 years with the game already, it would be not fun.

I would not start EVE again. If I would get back my money and time, I would STFU and go away in peace. But unless the skill point "compensation" will be followed with a way of "compensation" I mentioned above, let me dislike the idea of server reset. It would be fun only for those, who could not achieve much (yet).

thanks

I think SOE did something similar with Star Wars Galaxies. Ask some of the people around here how that went.

Will there ever be a split of the server? Or a new server starting up?

Because at it is now, every larger fight between two groups is a lagfest, and the sundays in populated space is just hell.

And if the number of subscriptions to EVE keep rising, this problem will only intensify? I don't suspect you will stop taking more subscriptions.

not a veteran but know I worked bloody hard for what I got...

the only reason why anyone would want a reset is becuase they dont wana be at the bottom of the food chain ingame...they want a chance to be the NEW BOB or ASCN ect...

ffs

When these topics come up I can't help thinking about what it would be like to have a reset and well.. I would quite like it. A fresh chance to skill your char perfectly, build up with the full knowledge of the game and all that, it would be cool.

But then after thinking about it I realise its not a server restart that I want, its a chance to go back to the day I first started when Eve was fresh and still being built and get that "woooooow space is big feeling" and then press self destruct for the first time Very Happy. You can only dream because thats not really going to happen again, with Eve 1 at least Razz.

Rather something that will make our play a little bit less lagfest. because now we have battleships dying every second and dreads dying every day (and people not loosing anything with that ship lost because they have trillions of isks)

So you want to split the server... giving even less resources...?

The coolest thing of EvE is not the PvP or anything, but the fact we're all on one server.
I think if CCP would have to choose between a second server or turning every single 0.4 to 0.0 is Concord infested space I think they go for the second.

So CCP : make your choice
1. Split server
2. no more PvP
3. why not just us if we prefer to get hit by a bus or rather a truck Laughing

On a more serious note, I do wish CCP a million online, but I wonder where the technological barrier is ?

I would have absolutely no interest in starting again. It would take over a year to get back to flying all of the ships and setups I want to use, and the intervening time would be a waste of my subscription fee.
