Introduce the ability to change a characters name.
You could to it back in 2007 so one would think that the option would be available now, several millenia later.

If implemented it should come with restrictions like but not limited to:

Limited number of name changes over a period of time.
AKA. Name "history" on the character sheet.
A RL-ISK cost like the appearance changing.

I would like to see the addition of Crew Members.
Kind of like moduals.
Something like gunnery officers (adds tracking or gunnery)
Engineering officers (adds to tanking)
Surveyrs (adds to senorsShocked)
Marines (can take over enemy ships?YARRRR!!)

Recently returned from a long absence, my main focus and suggestion would be:

Corporations need stocks and a stockmarket, just like in real life, and the tools suited and needed to govern this.

Add an approach phase to fleet combat after warp regardless of setup to change the 'warp to optimal and bbq' combat to something requiring a whole lot of approach considerations beyond scouting, tackling, and bbqing. EvE lacks the compelling tactical concerns of the approach phase of battle. 100km radius warp disruption effect from the centre point of both fleets would completely change the mechanics of engagement, reinforcements, routing or fleeing, persuit etc.

Improve in-game interface as it’s a bit sloppy now (i.e. drone interface (i.e. load\unload = huge “lag”), ship interface, overview (i.e. multiple o\v, movable o\v), add short-keys i.e. 1 button to load\unload drones, attack command etc, 1 button “move to”, orbit, fire all guns, 1 button reload all weaps., change ammo), drag and drop option for drones and wings\squads in gangs. In general, no matter how cool the game is, if you have crooked interface it won’t be as much enjoyable.

I would remove ALL dev/gm/isd developer tools from Tranquility during playtime, keeping them only for downtime, SiSi and organised events. When these would be used the user would be chosen randomly from the available devs/gms/isds and supervised by the ones that were not chosen so that no wrong doing will ever occur again.

When i say ALL i include but do not limit it to: the delition of petitions, joining corporations, changing of roles in a corporation, spawning bpo's, banning of players or isd members and all that stuff.

That is all.

When salvaging a player wreck there should be a chance to recover some or all of the normally "destroyed" moduals/cargo, and even a chance to recover the whole ship. Which would have to be hauled or piloted away.

Boost the profitability of low sec (ores + NPC bounties), not just for those with capital ships. Let it be somewhere inbetween high sec and 0.0, a place for people who don't want the hassle of POS running, maintaining sovereignty etc (as not everyone has the time for that, and not everyone enjoys the fleet fights) but still have the option of colonising an area and profiting from it.

This would also act as more of a stepping stone for corps to build up in low sec from, before moving out to 0.0.

There are several things lists here that I see as minor changes. The one thing I would add is a stock market. I think it would be interesting to see what a stock market will do to the politics of eve. Will it keep corporation in check? Will people not care because of the money they are making from the "bad guys?" In my opion this is the change our game could most benefit from by all players.

A really massive event which would force massive change from everyone e.g Massive NPC invasion force, forcing retreat from regions , causing further conflict over resources and space. May cause races to work together to eliminate threat. (Possible Jove Invasion)This could potentially impact on markets etc.

Or..

Something to cause full scale Race War - disrupt alliances causing internal conflict

maybe... disease can be introduced meaning the need to "Invent" cures

Observable ship modification (Corps could wear team colours - partly done via tags)

I want to see more involvement of NPC fleets. I seriously doubt the pirate factions in 0.0 only want to sit in their little regions while players fly through with no problem at all.

Make it so occasionally they (the NPC) form large fleets to attack players and their POS's not only in their own NPC space but into other Regions as well. And I am not talking about 1 fleet (or 1 fleet at a time) every few months doing this, more like every few days or less. That should keep players on their toes, and bring the story back into the light.

I would add a warp scramble indicator.

We need some means of telling whether the ship is scrambled or not.

The idea
Hey guys I've got an idea...
We want to make the combat in this game more dynamic right?
For players to be able to utilise tactics, positioning, and leadership qualities to the maximum effect...

Scenario
If you have two groups of PVP'ers who want to battle each other, currently, one group has to take the first fall and go into a gatecamp. If you imagine a virtual battlefield, two sides meet each other in any type of terrain, but the fact is they are in the same place together when they want to engage each other. At this time, the only way to be on the same 'virtual battlefield' is to jump into a system where you meet at a stargate.

Proposal
I believe there would be merit in expanding the possibilites of a battle by introducing instanced battle realms between two stargates. Alliances and corps would opt-in to a battle, agree a time and stargate jump to meet within. Around the time of battle, they travel to the stargate and jump to the 'battlefield'. The battlefield is 300,000km in diameter and a perfect sphere. Deployment points based on the shell of the sphere. Movement limited to deployment area until the start time (which is a countdown to the agreed time). Upon battle start, any tactics, formations, and movements are possible, and you can take as long as you like to battle. The winners would be the ones with ships left inside the sphere. Entrants can warp out to the stargate they came from, but cannot return. Any ship types that can use a stargate.

remove all insurance payouts,
to fix free isk incomming to the game and at the same time making battleships more expensive thus bringing more smaller ships to the fight.

it will also make capital losses hurt mroe.

Senior Developer for a day.

I would first off start by looking into what the different people working for me had been doing the previous day and what they should be working on today.

Senior producer is in my point of view not a person who should sit and think about what chances should be made today.

Handing out assignments and backing up the co-workers when they have trouble is the way forward.

I would also make sure that at least once everyday or every other day, a meeting would be scheduled to insure that everyone was informed about what the others where doing.

I would (to put it short) delegate the work and supervise and hopefully keep everyone pointed in the right direction.
