All,
I know you all support the Forces, and I know you will support this appeal. The current situation in UK is that asylum seekers/drug addicts/Ex Cons have a better chance to get housing than Ex members of the Forces. Did you know Ex Soldiers from all Era's are currently the single most group of people that sleep rough in London? Pse read the following statement then click and add your support.

The current legislation discriminates against service personnel and puts them at a distinct disadvantage when requiring help with housing. An early day motion is currently being signed by MPs which if carried, will help change this legislation, but we need more of them to sign it if we are to get the government to take notice. We now need your support to get this through.

As an update, 1,201 people have signed this petition, There is a petition that demands Tony Blair to juggle ice cream while standing on his head, that has 3,405 signatures! What a country we live in!!

Please follow this link to sign up to the petition:-

As a young person aiming and pursuing a career in the British Army, I would hope that as many people as possible sign this petition, that people serve their country and are discriminated against in a way like this is not how I would like our government to act.
Thanks DALE0404 for making me and hopefully many more aware of this petition.

Yeah they need all the money to force ID cards and per-mile road licensing that tracks our every move.

Actually ID cards are pertty reasonable, we used to have them while I was in Germany.

Actually the government spend their money trying to solve Anti Social behaviour, where imo a good swift kick up their backsides would solve that, also the money goes to the "Oh i'm not employed but I can make a few quid on the side doing odd jobs and still get benefits".

It's a joke at the end of the day, but hey thats the UK government!

ID cards are unlikely to achieve any of their stated goals.

They are very likely to cost as much as 20Bn, which I would prefer to be spent on actually, you know, solving problems. Or failing that, just not spent at all.

There are many forms of ID already available for those who wish to use them. Compulsory possesion of ID is a naked infringement of freedom and privacy, and a blatant statement that the government are our masters, not our servants as they should be. Their primary use is for information gathering (and they've already admitted that data gathered will be sold to private companies, BTW) and control. They're nothing really to do with combatting crime, terrorism or illegal immigration, as the government have quietly admitted on various occasions. The 7/7 bombers would all have had valid ID cards, for instance.

Wear your collar with pride.

I won't address any of the points you made as that would get this thread locked, but let me just point out you're the one who's bringing politics into this.

The internet is filled with forums for the likes of you, I suggest you take your agenda elsewhere.
