Nothing wrong with putting names on it, it's a part of Eve's history now. They should do an Eve chronicle about it! (ofc not stating the real events, they aren't exactly exciting)

No names at all please.

Good point. Something like:

Quote:
This is all that remains of a capsuleer-piloted Titan, the largest of all the capital ships. Clearly the location of an historic battle site worthy of remembrance.

...or something else suitably generic would "fit" better I think.

Dude, I really dont think so.

Titan ownership has nothing to do with the cost of the actual titan. Justnow I could either build/buy a bs myself, even mining the **** in a few days.

If you think that suddenly in a few months, or even years time, im going to be in a position to maintain a network of pos's handle all the logistics and fight off any invaders, then you have an incredibly twisted impression of what one person can do.

Not to mention that most people wouldnt want to fly a titan, seeing as most would be a little edgy about leaving it at a pos while you get into another ship.

I agree that the stations ASCN built area a good monument, however for anyone that is new, how would they know that ASCN built them?

Not only because of the way it was destroyed (from my point of view no titan has been killed but one has hit self-destruct).

But more because stories should be folk-lore.

Just give us a wreck without any description.

yeah agree the people have to make the myth's around it. makes it also more interesting. if everything is in the description it does take that away.

it also makes people who want to know what it was search in eve-history which is a good thing

There weren't any killmails back then but CCP might have the data.

m0o lost first battleship.
First battleship - j0rt`s dominix, was killed by ruscorp pilots. One of them - Leshiy, military leader of rus, second = Technolisa (yes, he still playing Wink) or Logrus. Cant remember about who was second pilot.

As for monument. I agree with dalman, no name calling plz.

That was not the first battleship killed in the game, but certainly the most talked about. m0o lost 2 BSs, but it wasn't exactly a 2vs2, as the 2:nd m0o warped in just in time to see his mate explode.

Yea, Leshiy was good fun to fight against and he was good. The second pilot might have been Logrus, I don't remember for sure either, but it was not TL.

First BS is rumoured to be a covenant scorp vs m0o IIRC.

Hmm thats abit of intrigue, would be cool if ccp could clear that up Very Happy

As for first ever pvp kill then not sure if ccp would hold logs when there were no killmails, if thats the case then wonder what the first ever killmail was

Let's clear that up: There were mails.

The person getting killed always got a loss-mail.
That the killer gets a kill-mail was added later.

And ofc CCP has the answer to that in their DB.

They should have put an epitaph on the monument. Something like:

Here lies the remnants of Bruce the Almighty,
whose fittings were scarceful and far from alrighty.
They thought they had tanked,
yet still they were ganked,
by numerous dreads and a rifter named Heidi.

or maybe:

This Titan was flown by Cyvok the Boss,
who suffered a sudden connection loss.
He got disconnected,
aggressed and detected,
and died with his primaries still unselected.

Nice, and original, but there's already another one that I much prefer:

Originally by: Zeno Kang
With apologies to Shelley,

I met a traveller from a distant star
Who said:—Two vast and wingless halves of a hull
Float in the void. Near them by the asteroids,
Half burned, a froz’n corpse drifts, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that the pilot, well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on this lifeless thing,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the prow these words appear:
"My name is Avatar, titan of titans:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The mute and blinking stars stretch far away.

PS: I'd go travel there and watch it.

The funny thing is: I had this business idea once of Tourist Guide.

Go to a starter system, grab a few interested newbies, take them to a low-sec system with a good agent.

"And now, with a bit of luck we'll get to spot a carrier, but they're rare. I know at least two pilots in local are able to fly a Thanatos. Oh look! That's a Caldari Navy Raven, worth over a billion. It's probably got a Gist XLarge Shield Booster on it worth at least another half bill. See how it's warping into the deep dark nowhere? That's off for a mission. Should be back in under an hour. And the gate we came through was once camped by a solo Nyx which noone could shoot down. Here's the link to the killboard report of the event." etc etc.

Just too bad I'd probably end up giving out more free gifts than I'd earn Razz
