WTH did they bring back podflight to begin with?

Probably because an escape pod that doesn't move is fairly useless. Would you enjoy it if your pod, after having your ship blown up, couldn't move, warp, or jump?

Talking about pirates with so low status that they cannot traverse the core systems in a ship but opt to leave their ships willingly to bypass the core since NPC don't shoot pods and with WTZ people can't either. Was that too hard to read from the facts posted in the original entry?

Well, original post said shuttle..... so forgive me for not realizing that "In a shuttle" means "In a pod" these days. But I digress.

If it was on autopilot, and actually WAS -10, somebody should have been shooting at it. If not NPC's, then definitely players. Unless it was some odd situation where he had a low security rating, but a high rating with that particular faction of police.

Did you pull up the info sheet, or was it just flashing red on the overview? Is it possible that he wasn't -10 security but you had kill rights on him for some reason? Maybe he stole something from a can or wreck of yours, and you were the only one that could engage?

+2 scrams only work at 7.5k non faction and stabs work at all ranges.
+2 scrams use energy and are affected by lag and stabs require no energy and benefit from lag.
+2 scrams have high fitting requirements while stabs have no fitting requirements.

Because you're socially inept? Oh oh, no, maybe you just don't get the concept of a massively MULTIPLAYER game.

I get the concept of the game and love this one, I just don't like most of the people playing it... big difference.

Then play a different game? MMOs ARE the people playing them. It's not a singleplayer game. If you don't like the people playing EVE, you don't like EVE. Simple as.

What part of "and love this one" didn't you get? And what part of "big difference" didn't you get? No easy way to put this, but that's why I don't like "some" of the people in this game, I elaborate on previous post and say "some". So another useless post telling me to play another game after not reading my post that said "I love this game".

And you far off if you thing the people playing the game ARE the game. I've played Eve since long into beta and there were far fewer people calling others names like whiners, ***s, carebears... when the game started, the people playing the game WERE the game, now they are just immature kids who have no idea what ROLEPLAYING is. Example: I told a pirate to get a real job and he said, quote "I do, I'm a carpenter, ***, go play WoW". Is that the kind of person you are talking about the ARE the game? Give me a break. I was roleplaying and meant a job (miner, builder, trader) but the admitted 19 year old and too many others that ARE this game now don't know what ROLEPLAYING is.

I give up, why do I bother... I info'd him, he was -10, he had a 60 mil. bounty, he was in a SHUTTLE, he was in 0.8 space, he was approaching gate for 15 seconds while I watched, I didn't attack because I was in an INDY... and I'm done with this thread... not to mention this forum full of people that flame (that someone said are the people that ARE this game, heh). Nothing personal to any (about 2 percent) that posted something useful on this) but I'm done here and going back to the game.

just an FYI stern, you're going to lose this one, because honestly you can't tell someone that you're antisocial, you just have to BE antisocial.

as to the "easy being a rat in" blah blah all that, rats need skills to(they're a basic game mechanic) and rats are in fact SUPPOSED TO BE A PART OF EVE. they're designed to be a part of the game, otherwise you couldn't shoot another player, ergo all the basic game mechanics apply to them ,including the need to occaisionally buy skills and whatnot in--empire (cuz sometimes you just can't get em outside) and beyond that what exactly is so horrible about a player flying through a system totally unprotected (shuttle or pod, it doesn't matter) and the NPCs not messing up a perfectly good bounty? Had he been foolish enough to warp anywhere near me i'd be 60mil ISK richer. WTZ or not, i'd chase till i could warplock the turd then blow him up. Now i understand you were not in a position to do so, but that is the way that you choose to play the game. He was doing you no harm, and with about 20000 other targets it's likely he never will.

So in other words: cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get the (insert obscenity here) over it

Carebears usually never try pirating or doing smth risky and then whine about being popped while majority of piewats were running missions and all that at least at the start of their EvE carrer. Now how can two different parties discuss smth inna civilized way if one of the parties has absolutely no knowledge of what the other party does.

It's all about the approach one has towards the game, but running missions from beta up till now makes me feel that you're really hardcore person. Laughing

I mean most of us are sorta "carebears" in RL, but being a carebear in game as well is what I don't understand. And TBH piewats are usually the ones who are polite, easy going, smack free and pleasant peeps to chat in local while carebears are the ones who smack as if this is their RL trade - at least what I've seen so far, but then again I'm not in EvE from beta and I don't do lvl4 missions, so I guess my word has no weight. You win... the best post in this thread as far as I am concerned...

This is my last word on this thread... I like to roleplay, which some don't understand. Everyone keeps saying this is a multiplayer game and... yes, a ROLEPLAYING game, MMORG. I play a role, a person who likes to go alone... supporting that role, it's very easy to get into the role when people in the game keep calling people whiners, carebears... it's the way I play the game and it isn't going to change.

Again I refer to my above post about these people being THE GAME as someone mentioned. People that ARE the game know it's a roleplaying game, they don't call people whiners and tell them to go play WoW (never even looked at the web page). They don't talk crap at people (the dumbest question is the one you don't ask, the dumbest person is the one that FLAMES that question without answering it). In beta, there were some seriously "whining" quality questions, we used to call it feedback (wait, what does that mean) and most of it has helped produce some of the fundamental basics of this game you are playing, but I guess some don't know what that means.

So, just thanking most of the posters here for supporting my ROLE. It's people like this that have made me who I am. Thanks.

EDIT: I know someone will flame this now without completely reading it, so I wish CCP would just delete this thread altogether.

As a flashy red pirate , I hate highsec - but I have to go there often , mostly to place orders , but also trying to retrieve modules. It is very tricky to undock in a shuttle , and generally suicidal over 0.8 - navy ships instalock you once they're spawned. Highsec systems are horribly crowded and lagged compared to lowsec , which lowers your chance to keep your shuttle.

I made the terrible mistake of undocking in a pod in Rens yesterday , right into a crowd of idle undocked ships. I got scrambled , and the lag was so bad an Abaddon had the time to lock and shoot me before I could dock. Frankly , I don't blame others for using hauler alts. Playing as a pure outlaw character is the most hardcore Eve experience you can get - all the risks of 0.0 with none of the advantages.

OP is obviously clueless.

You know why I play this game in my own private corp, solo, without anyone else? Because the chances are too high that I'll end up associating with someone that uses that word to descibe any and all posts of this nature... "whine". There are two words that denote an immature person that are used to flame someone or insult them or whatever... "whine" and "***" and far too many immature people in game and in forum are allowed to post useless comments that in no way correspond to the original post.

In short, it was 0.8 space. A -10 can fly through it without incident but the moment I tried to shoot him, police would be all over me. Stop posting useless posts like this and think of a more useful response.

EDIT: And if I am allowed to pod him in 0.8... that's new since I've been away... hence the need for consistancy instead of changing things all the time...

I don't quite understand your problem at all? For starters 2 pt scramblers are very short range, you should have ample time to get away from anyone using them unless they land right on top of you. Not that I suspect you've ever been in a PVP situation. Stabs don't need to be activated, don't have range, don't get killed by NOS etc.

The person who was moving through hi sec in a shuttle? Well that's just the way it goes. Chance for the navy to intervene is random AFAIK. I've been instalocked, scrammed, webbed and popped trying to go through a 1.0 in a crow... TWICE... in one night, I wasn't even an outlaw, I was -2.1. Bear in mind this was aligning to warp on the entry side too. It is VERY risky to attempt to move through Empire as a crim in anything other than a shuttle.

actually, my last post I wasn't trying to flame, I was trying to get more info on it.

The way it sounds is that there was a bug of some type, or odd situation that prevented the NPC's from shooting him. If he's -10, then concord should have been all over him, since security rating is also your rating toward Concord itself. My best guess is that either something was goofy with Eve at the time, or that perhaps he had a positive standing to the gate NPC's and Concord just didn't show up in time. But if things were working properly, he shouldn't have been flying safely around in the shuttle unopposed.

Don't worry about these kiddie fanbois Privateer Stern. I've been playing MMORPG's for 10 years now and sadly as time goes on more poor idiots can now play them.

It's really quite obvious why immature kiddies try and beat people down on forums. They have HUGE insecurity issues and self-esteem problems which leads them to believe they are gods on the internet. I promise you won't see a single one try and talk crap to a person in real life. Just imagine the school nerd that always got picked on in highschool, because they couldn't do a thing about it then they have to come here and act tough.

Every MMORPG you play though there will always be people you hate. With WoW it's the massive immature kiddies, here we have immature kiddies and the fanbois. Fanbois usually say the exact same thing. "Go back to WoW!", "Can I have your stuff?", or "Eve is a PvP game!"

Pretty much all I have to all the kiddies and fanbois is: Get off daddy's computer and using mommy's credit card and do something useful with your life! If you don't atleast vote you're taking up natural resources and should kill yourself.

So yes I pretty much hate 90% of people under the age of 25.
