Or two runs, depending upon who you ask...

Running trade routes it takes quite a while.

Other uses may be much faster, but he didn't ask about other uses.

Unless of course a "trade route" is considered to be thousands of jumps... heh.

or what if say you sell your services to a corp and help them move stuff etc. are there actaully people out there willing to trust someone enough to help them move that much stuff?

I believe that is what the new contract system will help to allow.

I have also heard that there are quite often corps who pay freighter pilots to move large quantities of goods for them. Generally it will be low-sec hauling if you want to make a good profit though... so you have to trust them as much as they have to trust you.

If you know where to look, you can make crazy money in a freighter, definately in excess of 100-200m per day for half a days work, with some know-how and luck.

Trading NPC goods is a bit more predictable and "safer". Playing the mineral market can be extremely lucrative at certain times and requires a lot more luck (when will someone buy MY minerals up on sell order, 10s before another guy puts a cheaper order or 10s after).
If you know your "trade" both can be VERY lucrative.

Since I got my Fenrir about... 26 days ago I went from 310m to 2.7b. It's all about finding the right opportunities.

As for hauling for players/corps. The general rate for "non-afk" freighter hauling is 500k per jump, 1 mil starting fee, with some small variations. Most clients will only pay you for the trip pickup-delivery, usually they don't pay you from where you are->pickup or delivery->back.

It also requires a decent wallet to start with since you will have to pay collateral for the goods you transport. Usually 300-500m is best to start off with, less might work if you ship only tritanium etc.

Annedien, if you have your own freighter and can put up a collateral of at least 150 million ISK I have a daily job for you (I'll have to work out the details).

The volume we're talking about is 400k m3 per day, somewhere between 1 and 10 jumps starting from jita.

The price I'll pay you will be dependend on other offers, the cheapest I've found so far is around 400k p/jump without startup cost.

Contact me ingame if you're interested (other freighter pilots are welcome to contact me as well with their offer if they read this, no point in offering anything above 400k p/jump).

Ulrich, if you have daily work I can do it for 350k per jump, no startup fees. I'm looking for steady work to keep my freighter going as it makes no sense to move an empty freighter around constantly. I can provide up to 500mil collateral as well. I'll contact you by eve-mail tonight when I get in from work, but if you see this before then, please contact me asap.

Can you elaborate, even just a little bit on the above statement? That's an insane increase in profits and it would be nice if I could get some education in this. I don't even mind giving the person who shares the information 50% of my profits on a hit like this. I just need some isk so I can buy a few things and start trying to make some money in production.

Atm i am not using my freighter a lot but it sure comes handy once in a while.

I have done the pick giant secure containers to 0.0 option and frankly it rocks both for the sheer adrenaline rush and the almost garanteed 500M profit on them.

As for freighter in hi sec, well just remember that now courrier contrat can be picked up by freighter... so get ready and start hauling.Wink

Wanna lend me a couple billion isk so I can insure my freighter and replace it if it goes boom.
