Are there any tools you feel you would like, but doesnt exist? I know some people want a ship comparison tool for example, where you can compare the stats to eachother for selected ships.

What else is there? Fill the thread with stuff you would like, so the programmers of Eve can get some inspiration and start building. :)

Edit 1: I meant third party tools... Razz
Edit 2: Actually, new functions in Eve is more interesting than third party tools... scratch my first edit. :)

Do you rate the font a tool?

Revamping the corp management, the S&I and the market UI would be nice too.

The gang UI and the contract system are cheap hacks atm, so there are a lot of things I can imagine. The drone interface can be improved too.

Shiptype-related overview/inspace settings would be great. Hsving to redo all the things when you jump into a bomber after flying a BS is just annoying.

hacks and win buttons

right click on someones name and warp to them
right click on someones name and empty wallet
right click -> kill
right click -> win eve
ability to shoot drones out of turrets that shoot missiles that throw knives that launch guns at enemy ships

or in the very least the ability to set all of eve to -10.0 without the bother of individual corps.

etc

I would love something which would massage any given webpage for IGB compatibility, actually, so that IGB would not lock up the client on something it can't process regardless of where you point it to. This would be immensely useful.

I want to be able to hotkey everything that I can click. Engage drones, keep at range, reload ammo, one key for all high slots etc...

A medium tractor beam. range 30 km can pull in pods frigate sized ships and destroyer sized ships. AND MAKE IT GREENYARRRR!!

the heavier the object that you pull the slower it comes. ie Pod 500 ms destroyer 100 ms. and u cant warp off either unless you exert more counter thrust than the force that the med tractor has or its disengaged.

the UI needs to be revamped first.

tabs between targets - drones - friends/gangmembers (above the overview like the map) and not having them stacked as current - just doesn't work.

I want the (option to have) speed of a ship to be displayed on it's cheveron alongside it's name when I hover over it on the overview.

the ablity to cherry pick which graphical features you want on or off via the esc menu

Wallet export tools!

And although this isn't a tool, it would be nice to have those personal mini-starbases there were some discussion about a while ago. Like an anchorable container but with some added functionality like re-fitting your ship Wink

I'd like to have comparison tools: highscore charts, rankings, statistics etc. .. for example top 500 sp, or isk balance [optional for everyone to be listed or not] - just stuff to compare, like many other MMORGS do have. Could be ingame or in a statistics section on eve-online.com

BAD! This would give possible enemies tactical advantages over others. I wouldn't want people to know how many SPs I possibly have or any statistics on me.

I would like the ability to throw a number of bookmarks together and Eve would come back with the fastest route to cover all bookmarks.

Check the starbases forum, there are 2 such tools, along with hundreds of threads about it. :)

I would like a PvP match making system for unranked no- strings-attached PvP where you couldn't lose your pod and you got your ship back when it blows up. And then a ranked PvP match making system where you could lose your ship and your pod, and all the trappings of a sweet ranking system and such. I think it would be by far the most effective way to suck non PvPers into PvP, which is what CCP wants anyway, right?

I'm so tired being flamed all the time Rolling Eyes

1. Cant you read ?

So if you don't like that someone knows how much you have, just chose this in a box in the options window and noone will know how much sp you have.

2. Cant you read ? I wrote "I'd like to see", i did not say that everyone else should like it, just my personal humble wish, not more.

Don't know why but i always get flamed, maybe bad karma, don't know Mad

I dont think he intended that to be a flame, he is just disagreeing with your point of view. I get some of that too, but once you are properly flamed a few times, minor flames doesnt bother you anymore. Laughing

I had an idea about forming a pvp tournament, where players sign up to participate in 1v1 or 5v5 matches, with different rules for every match. Rules could be something like T1 cruisers only, or no ECM, just random stuff to spice up the matches. The kicker on this would be betting. Matches would be announced two days in advance, and bets would start being taken 2 hours before the match. A small percentage of the purse would be kept for the tournament organizers, another percentage would go to the victor(s), and the rest would get paid out to those who won their bet.

I thought this would be a great idea and I was all excited about trying to organize it when I realized that every match would just get ganked by pirates.

Medium, large and capital tractor beams to go hand in hand with salvage

I don't want any tools.

I want the old F10 back.

It would be nice if you could take the local list, just the names only, turn off the chat window, just take the local list and put it on the side somewhere, so I never have to listen to stupid conversations in local or any smacktalk.

It would be nice if you could close the comm window, including corp chat and just use voice comms for everything.

How about logging on PoS ship maintenance arrays and hangars, so you can tell who took what and when they took it? Or better yet, make it so the owner can specify who can borrow a ship.

The current options are way too limited.

Giving more freedom in the basic initial user interface. for example, why would a loner want to have every time he/she enters the game to have the corp and local chat windows?

Maybe there is a way to disable them, but I still don't find it.

The scanner is not working for me at all. Is this happening to all? I have to rely on the overview. Not even asteroides show up.

The Salvage is way too slow. Spending several minutes in three or four wrecks is not uncommon.

I would love to see some tools for managing alliance standings. It could give alerts when a corp joins an alliance, organize your standings list by alliance as well as corp, and even have an export feature. Right now, standings are the most time consuming of all the hassels of running an alliance, and the interface is really terrible. It could save tons of time. Anyone else have any ideas for a tool to manage standings?

A blueprint manufacturing cost util.

Drag and drop your BP onto it and it takes into account your skills, the ME, and regional average price of minerals, and it gives you a production cost.

Just thought of something else.Very Happy

We need a pos management tool. I think there should be a separate tab in the corp window that would list all of your corps pos and how much fuel and shield they have, ans whether or not the forcefield is active.

There is already an in-game comparison tool since Rev. When you show info on a ship or a module and go to the variations tab, there is a compare button there. The interface isn't too good because there's not enough space on screen for all the stats, but it works.

Well, I started this thread to talk about third party thingies, so I had a website in mind where people could compare the ships and all their stats when I choose that example in the original post. Then the thread got to be about stuff people want added to Eve, which is actually a better and more interesting topic. Thats why it sounds a bit strange.

And the ship comparison thing in Eve only works on the variations of a specific ship. You cant compare a stabber to a thorax for example. Wink
