Hi, Iím new to eve but not mmorgís. For some reason, people always seem to want to flip my alt miners can and itís kind of annoying. This is in high sector space of course. At least once a day I got to fly in another toon and blow up the annoying personís ship. Question is; is it really harassment/petition able if some one *dunno who* was to web/scram them and make them watch me mine for a little bit?

what you said isn't petitionable, but calling your character a toon is. :/

You know what really annoys people?

When in high security, manage to get aggression on someone, then just web/nos/scramble them, and orbit them. After you get that set up, go AFK for a while, or just play with the market while you have them locked down. The only way they can get out of it is to log out for a while, until their ship disappears, then log back in.

Don't go afk when catching a thieving hauler. The pilot might eject and come back in a bigger ship.

Please understand that Eve is a sandbox, and if other players decide to bother you, you have to handle it yourself. Its not a game where you call mommy. Wink

Thats also why the game is so interesting in my opinion... it allows for stuff that other games dont, which makes people evolve, trying to protect themselfs from it. Its a virtual world without the limitations other games has (like "You cant kill players in this zone" messages). Thats for kids. Eve is for grown ups (too). :)

Use Giant Secure Cans.
I used them from the first week and have NEVER had problems with ore thieves.
It's a bit slower yes, but not MUCH more.
OR if you have an alt, use him to sit next to you with a Hauler.

Depending on the system sec of course, since if it's 0.8-1.0 someone may just be able to fly a hauler in and scoop that bad boy up and not even get flagged. :)

Also, how slow it is depends on your mining/hauling capability. If you think it's not that much slower then wait until your skills get better and see how you feel then.

QFT.

Be careful with popping those peole, there's plenty out there who do nothing but kill miners that protect their jetcans.

It is a harrassment of all my six senses to see an EVE character being called a "toon".Twisted Evil
As for your question, what you are proposing is perfectly OK as far as game rules go.
Won't work in real life, unfortunately - ore thieves generally have better PvP skills than people
who choose to mine Laughing
Personally, I am looking forward to blowing up and looting your webbing and scrambling alt YARRRR!!

as eve is generally speaking a free for all, harasement is a difficult one to call, harasement could perhaps be sending people constant blank evemails to make there inbox flash all the time. This could be called haracement, but i dont think there is much u can do with ships and mods that can be called haracement tbh.

Its this reason i play this game i personally cant stand games with places where u cant kill other players etc...

but eve is becoming more player friendly with every new build. and i dont like it Sad

Not only is it not harassment, it'd be downright hilarious. Though I think youíd have to perma jam, web and scram the thief. If you do pull this off please send me a vid or screen shot of the convo where you tell him to enjoy the show lol.

A word of warning, most ore thieves will have better PvP set ups than you and most ore thieves have friends who can come and back them up if you do accomplish this.
