So far I have looked at the previous topics raised about astrogeology and mining % yield, and have found that none at the minute explain or equate the right figure to which i'm mining. With Mining level 4 and astrogeology level 4 using miner 2's i have a mining yield of 96.4. So the calculations given in previous discussions do give me the right figure's to what i'm actually mining. Are these calculations really correct? What is the correct calculation?

Eh, I think it should be 86,4

60x1,2=72
72x1,2=86,4

what the game does is doing the calculation like this

mining laser * mining skill * astroturf
eg with a miner II, mining 4 astro 4
60*1,2*1,2= 86,4 base units / min

BUT
Each ore has a size to it.
from 0.1 for Trit to 16 for the high end ores if i remember right about those.

So for EACH laser u will have to do a calculation like this.
Taking Bistot as an example here
86,4/16=5,4 units that is rounded down to 5.0 whole units.

To put this in another way. If u mine bist or any other high end ore, minig 4 and astro 4 is all u need. u will not see an increase in yield from training to 5 in either or both.

Not unless u can find a named miner II with an output of 62 units or more, and so far these are not in yet

Phaethon: you missed a round down

you cant have a decimal when dividing with the volume of the roids. the correct would be

86/16=5,375 = ~5

a way to check up on this is by using low end ores volume. like the omber, it has 0.6 in volume

86.4/0.6=144

86/06=138.333333333 = ~138

ingame when you mine you will only be given 138 units of omber per miner.

so if the numbers are rounded, having mining/astro both at 5 will bring 157 omber/miner/cycle?

like 60x1.25x1,25=93.75 rounded to 94

94/0.6=156,667 equals 157Question

I don't think they are rounded, they are truncated.

60x1.25x1.25 end result : 93
93/0.6 end result : 155
