i had some seriously strange issues today..

We had a small gang going and it was all working ok until 2 chars fell off (disconnected). When they came back they were unable to gang anymore (couldnt send or receive gang invites). very frustrating.. after an hour of logging and clearing caches we gave up.

why only Jita to own node?
other hubs are straining as well, namely Oursulaert and Rens... takes up to 5 minutes for market transaction to complete etc.

Why fix the game when they can just post a blog, and be left off the hook by the players every time?

I mean, none of us are going to quit, no matter how bad it gets. So what is the point of actually doing anything about it?

I dont think ccp needs a gun to their head to want to fix the problems, and people assuming that they dont give a damn is actually a bit disturbing to me. I dont see what else they can do but continue to work on the problems.

I very much agree that the lag is a critical problem these days, but I dont think anyone needs to be telling that to ccp - im sure they know.

QFT..

Blog it, Tell us it's fixed. Not like some of us have faith in you anymore, I used to think CCP were diffrent, You cared for the playerbase, The actions over the last year have shown diffrently.. Drones are now fixed twice three times over the last YEAR ?... Of course there fixed, there random actions are caused by our machines right? our ISP's?.. can't be the client or the server I mean the codes fine...there fixed...

Build: 27912
Extensive hardware and software optimizations for both the server and game client, including performance gains, memory leak fixes and much more.

hm dont found np wait for next patch

revelations patch wednesday 13 december, from 1100 to 1500 gmt
and finally, improvments to server performance and stability.

wow we have it finally it is done

my sunday
server comes up late hm
np more coffee

here we are
login in short time looks not bad
warping to gate no hostile good
jumping
.......................... after short 4 minutes next sytem loadet
yarrrr i made it

go to scout position
hm ok enemy in local maybe i probe him out
decloak
.......................................................................
hm after 15 mins look on my cloakitem blinking for decloak i think
wow we have a little lag
but then i remember

and finally, improvments to server performance and stability.

the constellation totally lags
it is not playable

hm petition never wrong if you can not play more or less
standart text
blablablabla

hello CCP ???
Yes i know you work hard on this
but rly i dont see it
each fix and patch in the moment make the game more unstable more lag

how you think should be big battles run if you fight for regions and systems ??
maybe you integrate a system so 5 vs 5 can fight about sover ??
so maybe it would at least a little fun

seeing 2 or 3 hostile emergecy warp if the jump in systems with 5 ppl in it is a pain and not a game :P

no i am not in jita i am in deepspace region with maybe 300ppl in it

i play this since beta and i like to have fun
i dont need to win but i like to have at least a little fun

so if you have the next fix and patch we will read again like allways ?

and finally, improvments to server performance and stability.

and 1 day after each one knows hm maybe next time

if the game can handle fights 200vs200 becouse ppl fight to defend or attack poses loadet with mass empty ships (becouse the posowner alliance must change ships fast you know)
if you have reached this status then and only then you should tell us something about

finally, improvments to server performance and stability.

i can live with lag from 10 seconds but not to warp in waiting for a grid load and try to warp a pod back becouse ship is allrdy destroyed
ok i will stop ranting now otherwise i will run out of charakters
and yes i am rly ****ed about how the games run in the moment
but i have to kill a few ppl IG bevor i can leave it
so i will ranting around time to time for the next 10 years

lol game not to play for me so time for little forumspamming

or maybe it is my computer ?
4800x2
2gb ram
8800 gtx
sound in game not active

Personally i dont see any reason to flame at CCP or throw abuse, but that said this is my thoughts on she server at the minute.

With the state of the server at the minute id rather CCP just roll the server back to Eve of 9-12 months ago. It was almost totally Lag free back then, database queries were a split second thing and you were never at danger of loosing your ship / implants to lag spikes or nodes biting the bullet.

I was taking a fly around my home system in my new Myrmidon and decided to try a mission with it. Fitted an active armor tank and went into the mission area. Tried to activate my weapons to pull agro, had to wait perhaps 15 seconds to get a shot off.

Tried to launch my drones once i got agro. They came out of the bay one at a time and lagged my cliant up totally over a period of about 20 seconds.

ok im taking lots of damage now (because my drones will not attack the same target or for some reason they now even have the tendancy to orbit a traget and not shoot at all.) so i try to turn my harders on as my shield hits 30%. Nothing happens... 20 seconds pass and im now well into my armor. Tried to turn on armor repaires... nothing happens. 50% armor left. I try to turn on my Harders again "An attempt is already underway to activate this module, Please Wait!". I try to activate my reppers again.. i get the same message.

I hit warp to warp out of the mission... Nothing happens. then when im 80% into structure my armor harders come online, my reppers come online and i warp out in the space of a couple of seconds... Then i realise that i left 5 Tech II drones in space, needless to say when i got back 4 of them were dead.

Hmm, think ill stay in dock and pray for miracles, or maybe run missions in a passive tanked Drake or somehting. At least then when i loose my ship i know i couldnt have tanked it anyway as i wouldnt have to turn on my tank.

This is not a flame or a whine. This is merely my thoughts and an experiance i had yesterday.

How long did it take to get to this point? I mean there are posts dating back a very long time about very similar problems. I am not going insult anyone on here by asking how many other MMO's some of you have played as I am sure many of you have played other MMO's but honestly I start to wonder considering the complaining going on and those threatning to quit the game. Tell me one MMO that runs smooth 24/7. No seriously...come on and tell me one? I've played many MMO's over the years, not all of them but at least every popular MMO over the last ...7 years or so. UO is the only one I can honestly say I have not played. In every single one of those MMO's this kind of complaining is popular. From what I can tell it has not solved any problems for those otehr MMO's at all. Bugs are still found, lag still persists, Dev's still trying to "balance" the play.

I can't say CCP has done everything they can to fix all of the problems since I don't work for or with anyone in CCP. However, I do believe they are trying their best. Things are not great right now, but I would imagine by the time the next big patch comes around, everything will be running just like it did pre-revelations. Then after the next big patch these posts will come back around again. History repeats it's self.

You all play this game for one reason and thats because you like the game. Give the dev's a bit of a break and let them do their jobs. Post your found bugs, play on sisi to help find bugs. Flaming the dev's certainly won't fix the problems.

They should do a Ken Livingstone and introduce congestion charging for Jita - 100K to jump in or a 1M per month for a permit etc.

Some people have mentioned "Why'd you break it? Roll back to 9 months ago! Why can't they fix the lag?"

Uh...because they keep adding new things. Notice the word "new" here. Yes indeed folks, "new" things can cause "new" problems. New is good though, because without "new", things would be "old". And we all know that "old" is boring. I'll give everyone a second to catch up there.

...

Alrighty, moving on. Since everyone's been relating their personal experiences so far (and loudly) I'll add mine in. I've had maybe two instances of lag or disconnect. EVE has been and still is completely playable for me after Revelations. I've ganged, I've used drones, I've PvP'ed, I've PvE'ed, researched, manufactured, ran missions, mined, fueled a POS, and used the market quite a bit. Works like a charm.

I will admit the blinding "flash" after gate jumps was annoying for a bit, but I just turned down my brightness a touch. Problem mitigated.

I live in Lonetrek and Genisis. Even though my Lonetrek base is only a few jumps from Jita, I haven't been to Jita in nearly 2 months. I don't care to play bumper cars. =)

Is it even technically possible to have the busiest systems on a seperate server . In my opinion that would require extensive coomunication between the main server and that seperate machine ,not really a viable solution.

Actually I think the devs should seriously look at this for all of Empire. Make it a charge based on node capacity with a credit if you leave a busy system. Maybe also a market tax based on how busy the market is...hmmm...no that doesn't make sense. Better idea:A tax reduction for quiet markets to encourage sellers.

Edit:Although I've posted a couple of complaints overall Eve is quite playable for me. Of course never going near Jita might be a factor in that. I get the occasional delay on jumping or perhaps a jump queue but it's usually only once or a twice in a two hour session.

*scratches head at all the lag complaints...

This lag issue seems to not affect everyone, which to me means it's likely something going wonky between the client & the server...

Of course when the cluster tanks, we all get lag, but I haven't experienced that since the last hardware update.

I haven't had connection lag since I switched to a new Internet service back in September.

I occasionally get client lag if I forget to turn of the grid computing utility I run.

Just a reminder that not all lag is occurring on Tranquility.

Every time I've had any bad lag I've come back to the forms the next day to read tales of this or that huge fight between alliances.

Seems pretty obvious to me where the lag is; the system isn't able to handle blobs still, combined with increased database load of all the new stuff. The question is whether CCP can get their load balancing working smoothly enough to transfer other systems off the overloaded node so everyone else that shares that node isn't effected....

My vid card is a ATI 9700 pro and my cpu is a AMD Barton core 2700. Kinda old eh? I do have 1 gig of ram. I run lvl 4 missions solo and with corpmates. So far I don't run into real bad lag issues. The few times I have run into bad lag (not in missions thank god) to the point I can see individual light photons coming out the exhaust I find 2 things.
One is that my Nortons anti virus has decided to scan for vermin. Easy fix.
Second type is unknown but if I exit the game and re-log the lag disappears. Go figure.
And I never go near Jita.

I've had times of serious client side lag before - then I found a few Gb's worth of logs in my eve directory. Deleting them made a world of difference. Not a fix for everyone, the servers have been suffering after all. But one well worth keeping an eye on.
