Well, I guess there's one way to make sure you win - be unsportsmanlike and don't give your opponents 5 more minutes to log their most important ship in.

Such a shame - the best group in the tourney marred by something like that. Poor show, Red Skull.

And why bother with having reserve pilots if you cant use them? GG, GREAT tourney rules guys.

Agreed.

I don't think you can blame RS though, it was Lemondes call.

Was waiting on a topic on this... They're not 250 II's, they 200 II's, n00b experts.

I also second what you said.

Sucks for BE to be honest. This was the match I was looking forward to today. I do wish Red Skull would have let them get their guy to log in, but I guess it's their right not to. It's not CCP's fault, nor BE's fault that their apoc pilot couldn't log in.

I think they're blaming iceland though.

Perhaps they should have waited, but it seems like anyone who can get a leg up these days will use it no matter the moral cost.

You obviously shouldn't be able to substitute someone in.... if you could you would see a lot more crashing and having people coming in with different setups...

Anyway it sucks for BE, but it could happen to anyone.

It wasnt LeMondes fault. If Red Skull has protested that for fairness the match should be rescheduled, I very much doubt that there'd be objections from the GMs.

Mind you, Ive never entered a tournament where unsportsmanlike people *dont* get a leg up - cheating is ftw, especially when you do it in a way that makes you look like it was just something that happened. Yes, I class unsportsmanlike conduct as cheating. Such a shame.

BE's fault.. the pilots should have had someone standing by to login in case one of them had ISP problems, power outage or wahtever.
Their problem they didnt trust any friends.

Thats said, would have been nice to see it on equal footing, shame on Red Skull :(

Congratulations red skulls.
As you see farjunk we don't have a forum squad like yours.

Regarding rules, we red them and accepted them before we signed up.

Red Skull were about as sportsmanlike as you can expect really, they saved the Apoc for last and it's not really their fault Heinky dropped. And I would call BS on any team that had someone "disconnect" after seeing my team on grid and then bring in another ship. Not saying BE were trying this, because I don't think they were but you can't use replacement pilots after youve been moved. Lemonde made a rules call and its really the only call to be made, you can't delay fights more. In fact, Lemonde was even warpscrambling the Apoc to give them a chance to log back in. BE just had a rough break and its too bad they didnt get a chance to fight with a full team but there is no way for that to have happened with a disconnnect.

How can you blame RS when its 100% BE's fault. It may have been out of BE's hand, but its not RS's fault the apoc CTD.

Actually they did not left him for last to giev him a chance, but simply because he wasnt a threat to their team :P

Thanx for depraving us of one of the top matches.Evil or Very Mad

On the other hand, why couldnt another UDIE member log in with Heinky?Shocked

Anyways, UDIE would only have won if that apoc was a combined nosboat/logistic boat.
If it was, I'm sure UDIE would've won.

While i think exchanging ships shouldnt be an option, exchanging pilots should be possible in cases like this. GMs even easily could make sure there are no gains throught differences in implants.

Edit: Server issues just make for bad fights and should be reduced in effect on combatants as much as possible, thats what replacement pilots are for imho.

Yeah you noobs, stop blaming it on red skulls, sportsman ship my A**.
who cares? its a tournament, we will all play to win it, cause if the situation was reversed, we would have done the same thing.

There is a lack of trust from heinky, and that cost us. oh well, s**t happens.
We still have a game to play, we can get thru.

Well that was interesting.

1) Heinky crashed from teamspeak as we were sorting targets etc.
2) We tell them to wait and they do.
3) Heinky comes back on TS.
4) Countdown starts 5,4,3.
5) Heinky crashed from TS + EVE client, countdown paused.
6) We tried to delay as long as possible
7) We tried to phone him, but could not get through.
8) The match was started.
9) We got pwned
10) Heinky logged back in after we were all dead (We don't account share btw Loxy)
11) Much shouting and abuse was directed towards him on ts
12) Everyone quit ts in a fit of rage after cussing eachother out and calling eachother spies
13) I being to formulate a plan for retribution.....

We asked to delay our match till after the next one, but it wasn't to be.

We weren't allowed to bring in another pilot.

They waited 4 or 5 minutes but it wasn't long enough :(

Not much else we can do or say really.

Its simple really. Our pilot had ISP problems, the rules stated that the match must start at that time. We all read and agreed to the rules before joining this tourny. So we dont have any hard feelings towards anyone except Heinky's ISP! Evil or Very Mad

Just a shame, but as the old saying goes sh*t happens!

Well, we all know about the BOB spies..forum espionage, ts/vent espionage, corp infiltration, bob spies taking command over enemy fleets and warping them to certain death and so on and so on. Why not infiltrate teams they view as a rival for first price?Laughing

I mean...the prices for the number one position is downright priceless, afterallWink
