The above mentioned quote was in the dev blog about rigs.
Do you guys know if it means that no duplicate of a single rig (2X proj Rof rig) is allowed or that not 2 from the same type (2-3x proj rigs of different flavor) is allowed ?? |

On sisi i could fit multiple on a ship, however often i couldnt, due to the calibration allowances |

I find the rof and dmg rigs to be useless. In all cases I think it would be better to use rigs to free up a low slot and use a MFS which provides double the DoT increase.

however I can see the damage rigs and the rof rigs being applied in certain circumstances. just think of them as addition for damage mod and not replacement. need more alpha? fit 1 dmg rig and put dmg mods. need more RoF? fit 1 rof mod and put dmg mods. |

Quite the opposite. You EITHER fit mods, OR rigs, not both. Due to stacking nerf of rigs+damagemods together, the fact that damage mods increase BOTH rof and damage for no penality, while rigs only increase one or the other for a pretty drastic fitting penality ("good" fittings were already close to max possible grid and/or cpu used), it would be pretty STUPID from just about anybody to fit both types. Why ? Because using either other rigs or other lowslot modules will increase overall performance more. Yes, even if you pack your ship full of only damage mods and damage rigs. Heck, you don't do that normally in the first place, let alone with something as expensive as rigs. On top of it all, you're going to have to use fitting mods in lowslots if you're packing a full set of damage/rof rigs (or other weapon enhancing rigs), unless you fit undersized weapons or completely neglect any tanking whatsoever. |

Other than Ferox (that's supposed to be a hybridboat bit it's almost exclusively used as missileboat), I can't think of any other (at least Caldari) ship that has that luxury |

Not Caldari but Amarr, Apoc and Abaddon with pulselasers to name two. They have almost more grid left after you have put 8 pulselasers on them than what some other battleships has from the start |

Regardless of powergrid, the dmg rigs are useless. They have stacking penalties with dmg modules so you can't use them in combination. Since you're limited to around 3 increases to damage you should use the modules as they are twice as effective and rigs are a much better substitute for things like : cap recharge, armor resists, powergrid increase, cpu increase, etc.
When I first read about them and didn't know about the stacking penalty I was gonna put 3 mfs and 2 rof rigs on my megathron... turns out, that's not an option.

Someone's never flown Amarr. High Grid? Yes. Enough to compensate for laser Grid usage? Hell no. Apocalypse, with all that grid, can't fit 8x Megapulse II+standard mids+tank. Yes, you could downgrade to Dual Heavy Pulse II, but you're losing 2-3 times as much DPS doing this as any other races lose by making the same downgrade(Yay, Lasers!). I fly Amarr almost exclusively. I do not have a single Amarr ship that doesn't have PG issues with current fitting. So please, don't talk of what you don't know anything about. One of the largest issues facing Amarr at the moment is powergrid, and despite what you apparently think, we don't have any advantage there. |

There are someships that don't have a lowslot availible. i.e. just about any caldari ship smaller than a Battleship. The cormorat is aweful in this regard. |

ya but why not fit the dmg mod on the cormorant and make up for the other low slot deficiencies with rigs? why waste 2 rig slots when you can fit 3 cap recharge or something? not that id ever fit a rig to a destroyer nor can you make rigs period.. but still |

I would free up a midslot or 2 on a raven and fit for pvp. MWD and warpscrambler ftw. |
