I say this as someone who has all E-war secondary skills up to 4. I have been gimped as much as you.
Amar and Minamatar E-war is completely laughable compared to Caldari, even after the nerf. Sure they can be used to good efect in a gang, but so can Jammers. |

Agree with the OP. Even ECM on ECM-dedicated ships needed a slight nerf. It still "rules the roost". |

I would like to protest the low placement of Fiji's Space Program. I mean sure, they don't have an effective government at the moment and their international reputation is in the toilet but you could say the same for the US and they don't get people killed every time they try to go into space.... Oh wait... Yes they do. |

Every time? Wow. You must know something that the rest of us dont. While it can't be said that the USA's space program has the lowest fatality rate in the world, it is certainly the most innovative, most active, and longest lasting space program in the world. And basically, any time you have large amounts of innovation in an unexplored field with inherent dangers, fatalities are inevitable. The brave members of the USA's space program know this danger, and face it. Of course, that isn't to say that it isn't mostly a waste of American tax monies. |

omg this thread confuses the crap outta me. not just the beer fan hijacking (and for the record we have some damm good beers in teh US. Troegs, yuengling, sam adams.... ok well we have 3) no the confusing part was the mention of matar EW. you mean like cap injectors and nos? what is this EW you speak of? Oh, you mean the mods the easy-mode guys used to lock down like 3-4 ships w/ one of theirs and call it fair? Yeah, too bad about that nerf... i was looking forward to the whole game shifting to a EW boost so instead of fighting we could all just lock each other down and watch the stars twinkle  |

Target Painting isnt overly powerful, which is why you get a secondary bonus to webs, which is quite useful.

Caldari->Jamming.. which got kinda overly nerfed imo.. least for the dedicated jamming ships.. |

I fly exclusively Minmatar ships and TP arent as worthless as you make them out to be. With good skills and the right ship its easy to get close to 50% sig radius boost on any target. Combined with say torpedoes a targetpainter does a big difference.
Lets talk about ECM in general.
Sensordampers is basically a noise jammer making locking harder, a quite realistic jamming system. Target painters make your hits better as the target is "fatter" to your guidance systems, quite realistic. Tracking disruptors, allright I can accept them, they just jam the fire control sensors.
ECM jammers though, thats something I dont get. I think its implemented like a midget in a space suit who rides a small rocket to the hostile ship, hacks his way through the airlocks, runs down to the CIC and pulls all the circuitbreakers in the targeting system and then gets shot by the ships marine security detail. Thats the only real mechanic for how they work that I can come up with.

Yes, and the two ships that actually have a bonus to it work quite well. However, TD is the Amarr EW. |
