I was thinking a cool thing could be to have a cycle indicator (like the jamming bar under the ship icon) to indicate the miner/strip/ice miners cycle when mining.
Not a revolutionnary improvement, but i would like to see where's my miner cycle at. |

Yes, please. And show us which miner is on which asteroid, so we know which one to cancel early as the rocks die out. |

Increasing the range on Strip Miner 2's (by about 3km or so) would see them getting alot more use...which means that there would be a point to using mining crystals.
It would add an interesting dynamic to mining, having to switch out different crystals to mine different roids as an added complication for the sake of added range. |

signed great ideas, they all make perfect sense which unfortunatly will probably mean we will not get it |

the timer would be nice, but if you can't keep track of which lasers are on which rocks, well, I can't say anything here because devs are watching.
Timer would be nice, and the range thing seems interesting, currently, i can only use a retriever though, and having to guess the cycle time is annoying. At least the bigger cap means I have more room for error :) |

The suggestion above are very good, as one of the worst aspect of mining is the time loss when an asteroid is depleted in mid cycle.
Currently I will not buy stripminers II even if I have the skill because most asteroids are consumed during the 2nd cycle, so if I am using stipminers I or II, at the end of 2 second cycle I have recovered the same quantity of ore.

Hmm...this is an interesting point...to which I would recommend one of two things.
1.) Mining lasers (strips included) auto-deactivate if the 'roid pops mid-cycle
2.) At the very least there should be an indicator of some sort that the asteroid has been depleted mid-cycle...for example, glowing yellow to note that it is no longer drawing in ore, though it's cycle hasn't finished.
One of the two above options + Timers on all modules + Strip 2 range FTW. |
