Dont run missions in low sec unless you are prepared to fight. Found it out the hard way. The missions can be easily scanned now (even and especially deadspace!!). Was on second stage of a lvl 4 deadspace mission when suddenly bunch o piwates warped in. So just fair warning if it hasnt been addressed already.

Yes I am aware they where before Revelations (scanable) but now anyone can do it as opposed to the elite.

It is vey dangerous ideed, Dominix commanders are unlikely to be attacked however, Raven pilots seem to be the main target.

Having a capacitor tanked BS with 2 armor reppers, will ensure no Arazu alone can kill ya. There is also no more need for faction setups, with the new HP and cap increase, Worlds Colide is a walk in a park in T1 fittings.

Agreed, risk to gain ratio is not worth even running them in lower than .5.

Indeed...

I've also got a lesson today, though i've been aware of such "feature", i don't blame anyone because of this. Though i think it should be fixed, or nearly all mission runners will leave lowsec (some already have). I remember developers' ideas to attract more people to lowsec, and after this patch if nothing is made, lowsec will be populated by -5 and lower sec ppl (who can't enter high security empire space) and ocassional travellers or pvp gangs.

There's quite a few ideas around the forums on how to fix it, i surely hope devs will catch them, or develop their own (i like their ideas so far, though it tends to create more bugs than are solved)...

just my 0.05 isk

Either side here it is a lose lose situation. Who in their right mind is going to run missions with 20 pirates in local and your the only mission runner? Oh get more people to help? Yeah then you make crap on the mission. Same goes for the pirates. This will only be a short lived opertunity. Once anyone with half a brain figures this out they simply wont run in lower than .5 sec. Then back to camping gates, belts and such. Surely a happy median can be reached here. Tho probably wont see it till next major installment of Kali. Confused

Imagine what happens when people find out about the Minmatar Probe frigate having a nice 50% scan speed bonus. I don't think he devs remembered that little diamond.

I'm think of leaving eve because of this

Solo players are now totally stuck in highsec for missions:
1. Pirates may know they positions for long enough to reconfigure themselves (missions take time, especially after adding wrecks).
2. Pirates may know mission type and ship type so they have upper hand in adjusting themselves to faster kill.
3. Pirates attack battle-worn ship, while they fly through secured areas themselves.
4. Noone uses warp scramblers for missions so pirate takes no risk attacking.

Considering that my mediocre mission setup cost more than 10 missions earnings, and i have no chance of survival against most solo pirates....

Combined with warp stabilizers "update" making ratting and mining in low sec suicidal.....

I really liked that game but i can do almost nothing now....

and i agree that it might be bad news for pvpers as well - with more peaople moving to highsec there will be much less targets for pvp- less mission runners, miners, ratters means also less trade and with "warp to 0" making gatecamps much harder there will be little targets for pvp

No it isn't, but you're not smart enough to work that out.

Pretty much what I've been saying all along, but since I'm a low-sec-mission-running carebear who mostly only does pvp when war-decced, few seem to listen. To all gankers out there who think "bwahahaha, the zero risk mission running days are over": First of, it was never risk free in any way. Second, when mission running in low sec becomes a rarity, who are you going to prey on? You certinly won't see any more fat faction fitted mission runners. It is even more likely that low-sec becomes depopulated, and then the gankers will starve. All action is followed by reaction, but not all seem endowed with enough intellectual capacity to grasp that.

Kudos to the PvPers who are.

I'd rather have to run gatecamps with expanded Iterons all the time than being intercepted mid-mission.

CCP, make mission runners REAL hard to find, and switch this ridiculous warp to zero in low sec for warp to ten or warp to fifteen. That way, both carebears and gankers get something. More PvP on the low-sec shipping lanes for everyone, as it should be, and the carebears can make cash from missions, which the predators can take without depopulating low sec. That would be balanced, compared with how it is now.

The new scanning is well balanced in zerosec, but I pity both missionrunners and pirates living in lowsec.

I guess people will run missions in t1 fitouts. Who cares if it takes an extra 5 mins to complete a mission, safe in the knowledge that if you die, your lose via insurance is almost nothing.

Oh and High sec is no longer safe either - People can warp to your mission, aggro all in a suicide frig and laugh as you ship gets blown up if you cannot tank a full spawn. (Using bumping or NPC rat scramblers to keep you locked down)

So this results in devaluation of officer loot I guess, as less people want to invest in it.

I run lowsec missions. Before, and after the patch. This will not change. I also run missions in 0.0 where my standings allow, this will not change.

I fear not the valley of death. Laughing

Well, I've already noticed the effects of the scanning probes. Just the week after the patch, I have noticed an influx of populations in my local. Which is of course causing all those jams.

I think it shows quite a significant amount of low sec mission runners coming back to hi sec. Confused

If the missions are that easy to find, and that attractive to the pastry minded among us... switch to bounty hunter mode.

start mission
lurk at mission with honeypot
whack pieguy with stick. w/ w/out friends your preference.
profit.

Yep, I lost a raven on the first low sec mission I ran since the patch. You stand no chance as you are spawn tanking and set up for tanking NPC's only. It is simply too risky.

High sec ain't much better as peeps can mine your mission roids, trigger an "all lock" or steal a mission critical item.

Add all that to those stupid wrecks which get in your way, have to be unlocked once you've looted them and you can't remember which you've looted and it's a disaster.

Come on CCP, sort this out, or I won't be the only person planning to quit this game when my subscription runs out.

And even these forums are bugged as well.

Just now lost my original message and had to retype.
